Does it give the option to keep the regular speed when making the gifs? Seems strange that it slows it way down like that.

I dunno. I could easily speed them up.

The first one is the play as it was broadcast live. The second two were replays which the network slowed down.

More speed would mean more frames for the same amount of footage and that would mean bigger size, I believe.

Actually, I just viewed the gif within my gifmaker, and it looks plenty fast. I think posting them on the board so close to each other slows them all down, especially with all the other crap going on in the thread.
