Is TrINT back?
I'm a big fan of Trent Green, but last night seemed kind of scary to me coming on the heels of last week's 4 turnover performance. Trent doesn't deserve the blame for his interception that bounced off of Kennison's shoulder (or for last week's fumble IMO), but he did throw 2 or 3 (or maybe even 4, I lost track) passes straight to Houston defenders and it is only by virtue of their inability to catch that we didn't have some really bad turnovers. Trent had good protection last night, so what's going on?

He's probably still nervous with all the hits he's been taking. Worried about people coming up behind him and knocking the ball out or just knocking the snot out of him.
Remember the old Dennis Hopper Nike commercials? "Can you hear the footsteps?" |
I don't think he ever went away. He's simply been vulnerable lately due to "OL" injury. But, what do I know; I'm a Chiefs homer. :D

Some of those throw were bad. That being said, I agree with what one of the commentators said, "It's like the Texans are in the Chiefs huddle." They were jumping the routes and spying the routes like they knew exactly where the ball was going on some of those plays. Trent doesn't need to throw those, but Al's playcalling in the passing game has become a little predictable.

Trent was pretty shaky at times...I think all the hits have gotten to him.
But still, given time, he can pick most D's apart. We need a QBOTF ASAP though...Green will be 36 next year. |
Green's accuracy has been bad pretty much all year, it's not like this is something new. He's throwing at wide open guys and making them work to catch the ball. A lot of throws at their feet, over their heads, and behind them.
I don't really know what the problem is, I just know I wish he would figure it out. |

He's been off. |

I thought his whole "process" looked a little slow - read, recognize, throw.
Age or injury? or myth? I dunno. |

Hopefully we can stop the rush next week againt NE, but without Roaf, I'm not counting on it. |
With LJ running like he is, Trent has nooooo excuse for not being able to play action any team to death.
He has to step up and hit the open guy. The pass to Kennison(1st TD) was a thing of beauty. All set up by LJ's ability to freeze the LBs. |

That sounds crazy!!! I am not certain there are any plays scripted for Trent to blindly throw to the opposition hoping that one of his own men are there. Not being able to audible doesn't mean you void your mind of what your eyes see and throw it anyway. |

From here on, I say they have to take the risk and start him. |
Green has looked piss poor all year. His throws are off, his reads are bad, he's throwing into coverage and he's making wide open wrs(make that TEs) work for catches.
He's been doing it since preseason. All of that cannot be blamed on the Oline |
