My first game...

KC vs. Jets. 20-14

14-14 with two minutes left. I march on down the field get to the one yard line. LJ fumbles it, they recover the ball, return it all the way to the 10. Time runs out though. Overtime. I get ball first.

First play. 1 yrd run by LJ. take it to 23 yrd line.
2nd play. 77 yrd reception by EK, touchdown game over.

John Matrix 01-20-2006 11:23 PM

I just started my fourth season. I kept almost the same team w/ the exception of letting Shields go in FA and trading Sammy Knight for a future 1st and 4th and 5th from the Colts b/c I had a young SS ready to step in and Knight was holding out for more money....First game was at Incestco...my boy Omar put 420 yards, 4 TDs and a rush TD on the Donks...59-17 Chiefs..yeah YAY.

Dunit35 01-20-2006 11:41 PM

I just played the Raiders and won 34-9. Three times their field position started inside my 30, three field goals. Warfield had 3 picks, taking one back. DJ had one too.

Mecca 01-21-2006 12:22 AM

Are you guys playing the all madden level........I had to get rid of Knight he's just to slow.

I am, its just too boring for me if I play on All-Pro. I beat teams 60-0 every time. Its getting too easy on All-Madden when Im KC though. They need a seperate skill level just for me

All-Dunit or something.

I have never lost to anyone before. I bet I am 30-0 or higher.

I drafted him once on another team. He was so freaking fast. I used him and had many sacks that season. Uncontrollably fast.

I was doing that until he got injured for the season....... :banghead:

On another note Elvis Dumervilles accereleration is amazing. If you just use him in passing downs you can run right around the tackles alot of the time.

foxman 01-21-2006 09:29 AM

I am just not that good at this game. I am still playing Madden 04 on either Pro or All Pro but most of my roster is getting hard to recognize since I am in season 6 or something like that. Is there a significant improvement in 05 or 06 other than having a more accurate roster?

Hootie 01-21-2006 09:53 AM

if anyone plays madden online (xbox), hit me up...my gamertag is fascinationx.

Your kidding right. There is a monstorous difference. Passing is better, defense is better. Passing is actually harder though. You can hit stick/truck stick people now. Better franchise mode.

How did you get all those yet to be drafted players on your roster? Did you create them and then name them or did you import them off NCAA football or soemthing else?

Yeah, you import them.

B_Ambuehl 01-21-2006 06:46 PM

wow guess i'm gonna have to get my hands on a copy of ncaa football '06. In NCAA football, are the players from each team named or just numbered? I played it once but to the best of memory there were no names just numbers.

When you import the players from NCAA '06, the names of the players arent there, its just numbers. But you can buy the names off of Ebay, you buy a memory card off Ebay that has the NCAA '06 player names on it. What I usually do is draft what players I want and then go to espn.com and put the names on the players that way. Of course every other teams draft picks are going to be numbers only. But atleast you have your players names on it.

Hammock Parties 01-21-2006 10:25 PM

The funniest thing just happened in my franchise.

I was playing Denver in Week 16 for the rights to 1st place in the AFC West. I lost (awful game, threw five picks) bringing KC to 9-6 and Denver to 9-6. Denver swept me so they had the tiebreaker.

Week 17 I beat San Diego to go 10-6. Then Denver lost to the Rams to go 9-7.

I win the division, Denver misses the playoffs. ROFL

John Matrix 01-21-2006 11:03 PM

You can auto name the roster on NCAA 06 and you don't have to blow money on the card. The names are made up, but it doesn't much matter to me. You can 'name' some of the players, if you'd like, like I did with Omar Jacobs, reggie bush, leinart, white, etc.

Mecca 01-21-2006 11:24 PM

I downloaded the names off a site, that's how my players are named.

His tackling does not relate well to his strength which is kind've uncommon and his acceleration is extremely poor.

When you scout players, the 20 yard shuttle is acceleration and cone drill is agility. Strength is obviously bench reps and tends to correlate well with tackling. At most positions, acceleration is much more important then speed. It's easy to get speedy players with poor accleration, agility and tackling but getting speedy players with good acceleration and tackling is where it's at. When you're scouting, simply find who has the best acceleration or strength and then relate that to everything else.

For example if I were drafting a defensive end I would first look at strength since I want them to tackle first and foremost. So find who has the best 225 reps. Next, look at 20 yard shuttle and see who has the best combination of 20 yard shuttle and 225 reps...from there look at speed and the scouting report. With that system you can get a lot of good talent often in mid to late rounds. I will not draft a defensive end if his shuttle is much over 4 seconds and his bench reps must be over 28 otherwise he'll play too slow and won't tackle or take on blocks very well. :)

Hammock Parties 01-23-2006 01:36 PM

I can easily get his acceleration up to 80 in two offseasons, maybe less depending on progression.

He's going to be a beast.

I think agility is more important for DEs, at least in the Madden world anyway. When a DE is engaged with a blocker, their agility rating more often than not is used when determining how quickly they can swim/rip past the blocker.

I never scout, either. The Madden editor shows me all the ratings. :D

B_Ambuehl 01-23-2006 02:01 PM

I'm dumb when it comes to all these add on's, video cards, cheats etc. :) I don't play games much in fact madden is the only game I've played in years......but anyway, tell me what a madden editor is? (As if I needed any more reasons to waste more time playing madden) :)

It's for PC. It basically allows me to edit almost anything I want. You can import draft classes for the first time on PC Madden with it, too.

I mostly use it to scout the draft ratings and change players positions. In a previous franchise I picked up a free agent HB that just happened to be 6'4 and converted him to TE.

I also use the global head coach slider adjustment thing they just added to it...produces more realistic results. It also has an injury slider so I get much more realistic injuries now.

I have never done this before. But a buddy of mine did this. Im guessing rent NCAA 2006 or if you already have it. Im not sure how to get the names on the players with this memory card but Im sure it cant be hard. Load the roster off the memory card onto NCAA or something. Then do whatever you do to get the players graduated (play a college season or two or do what I do and simulate a couple of seasons.) Then when you export the graduating players the names will be on there and ready to be drafted with their names instead of numbers.
