Only if Gump were playing I remember reading recently she'd never seen any of them.

And maybe it's just me but I'm always a bit shocked when I hear of someone who has never even tried watching them.

I dunno, it definitely had a vision, and the actors performed admirably. But the jump-cut cinematography and Kronos Quartet score were headache inducing. And that was just at the visceral level, before you assessed the subject matter.
I'd characterize it like vegetables, good for you more than tasty.

Demonpenz 04-25-2006 03:01 PM

jerod leto's band is getting more and more airtime on 96.5 the buzz. I didn't even know he was the front man for 30 seconds to mars and i had one of their cd's for 2 years.

I don't recall a movie ever affecting me like it did, literally felt hopeless by the end and was just glad to get out of their world.I think that's what made it a great movie to me,Aronofsky took me to a place I couldn't wait to get out of yet I couldn't turn it off either.

Lastly,I enjoyed the score.

Demonpenz 04-25-2006 03:05 PM

i am not one to feel bad about actors, but you know that seen where the old lady is on speed and she cleans the apt in the movie it takes like 10 minutes. She actually spent like 14 hours cleaing the apt for 5 minutes of the moive

Didn't mean to demean the score in itself. I'm a big Kronos Quartet fan, and I've had 'Lux Aeterna' on CD since Black Angels came out. It was the mix of the score with the imagery. That feeling of hopelessness you cite, is probably not that far off from the headache I got.

Death Wish

Saulbadguy 04-25-2006 03:23 PM

I'd suggest downloading, renaming, and then attaching the image, so people won't be able to guess by the name of the picture.

That might be a fun tangent for this thread.

Absolutely how I felt after the movie.
Jennifer Connoly is on my "list" (at the very top, no less) and the scene at the end with her made me sick to my stomach. The movie was such a downer, there aren't words to describe it.
