Will you be happy after the NFL Draft?

A simple question: Do you think that you will be happy with what choices your team (Chiefs, Donkies, Patriots, Raiders, whatever) makes in the draft?

JBucc 04-28-2006 09:58 AM

I beleive I will be happy because there is a large number of defensive players, most likely a DB or DE that should be available at the back half of the first round and while I prefer some over others they all have talent and can help the Chiefs. After the first round and possibly second it's really hit or miss on whether a player is good or not and most of them I've never heard of so I really can't say if I'll be happy about them or not.

Crush 04-28-2006 09:59 AM

I'll be happier if we end up with a good pass rusher in the first round, then go for a corner in the second.

StcChief 04-28-2006 10:00 AM

Given our history...both are likely

el borracho 04-28-2006 10:05 AM

Will I be happy after the NFL draft? Well... according to the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful magic 8 ball: "Don't count on it"

Mr. Laz 04-28-2006 10:10 AM

going by our history ... i figure to be happy about many of our 2nd days selections and really pissed about selections in rounds 1 thru 3.

i think that's maybe cause the chiefs let the scouts have more influence on day 2 and the coaching staff/front office screws up the early rounds.

scouts = good drafters
coaches/FO = crappy drafters

DJJasonp 04-28-2006 10:12 AM

Yes - because I wont have to hear from Mel Kiper for another 6 or 7 months.

David. 04-28-2006 10:14 AM

no, chiefs always find a way to disappoint.

hypersensitiveZO6 04-28-2006 10:14 AM

It depends. If we go defense is rounds 1-3, I'm happy.

BIG_DADDY 04-28-2006 10:16 AM

Probably not. We shall see.

Eleazar 04-28-2006 10:19 AM

I predict that no matter what, the Planet will melt down.

It crashes every day, of course it will, likely after our first pick.

ct 04-28-2006 10:25 AM

yes and no, so I chose option 3

better question would be how many times is crashes ... not IF

maybe a contest thread to see who can pick the number of times it crashes?

or how long it takes to crash once the draft starts?

ct 04-28-2006 10:30 AM

10 minutes, and 4 times saturday

Garcia Bronco 04-28-2006 10:32 AM

No I won't be happy...but I will eventually reach acceptance.

CoMoChief 04-28-2006 10:45 AM

Maybe. Last season I was happy after day one simply because I didnt even think DJ would fall to us. That is until Detroit took Mike Williams, then NO jumped ahead of us and I was like "oh ****" then they picked Jamall Brown and then I knew we'd land him because I knew Carolina wanted Davis.

This season there is so much talent in the first day theres no way we can **** this one up, especially with Herm, the scouting guru. But then again it's Carl Peterson were talking about here. I was happy with DJ, Surtain, and Colquitt last year.

This season Ill be pissed if it isnt something like:

1. Lawson
2. Best CB availble
3. Best DT availble

Ultra Peanut 04-28-2006 10:51 AM

That depends on where DeAngelo goes.

Logical 04-28-2006 10:55 AM

I imagine I will be angry about more than I am happy about. Carl is still drafting right?

Yes. By defintion I can't be unhappy under the present management of the Patriots. The only way I'm unhappy with the draft is if I find out that someone kidnapped Belichick and Pioli and destroyed the Draft Board they had assembled...

NY CHIEF 04-28-2006 11:10 AM

Yes......... as long as we dont draft a rb and te in the first 2 rounds :banghead:

sedated 04-28-2006 11:10 AM

I'm never happy

oldandslow 04-28-2006 11:17 AM

I honestly don't know

if the Chiefs reach on defense at 20 w/o trading down (Hali) or draft offense at WR, HB or TE or if Cutler would fall and we drafted him, I would be fairly upset.

On the other hand - Lawson, Williams, Cromartie, Hill - I am pretty happy with any of those.

KCBOSS1 04-28-2006 12:47 PM

Trade for Javon now, pick up Cromartie in the first round....I'm happy.

CupidStunt 04-28-2006 01:46 PM

I'm a value guy. I won't be majorly disappointed, no matter what direction we go, so long as we don't take third-rounders at #20 and day two guys in the second- and third-round.

That said, I would prefer CB/DE/DT on day one, but again, I don't build myself up just to get let down.

My optimistic prediction is yes, i'll be happy. It's a deep draft and we should come away with quality players at each pick on day one, at the very least. Complimenting that with a solid day two would be gravy.

I understand what you are saying but on the other hand if Hali is there guy, unless an outstanding trade can be made then I say just take him. Having a guy you believe will slip to you at a lower position and then he gets taken is how we end up with disaster picks like Trezelle Jenkins and Junior Siavii
