ooh. I like Slay. why didn't anybody draft him?

Sully 04-30-2006 04:44 PM

I'll take Nance and Baskett.

Iowanian 04-30-2006 04:46 PM

I was a little suprised Clinton Solomon didn't go somewhere. He's probably raw, but has potential to contribute probably, but never be a supahstah.

Nik Moser, Iowa State, SS

Actually, talked to my cousin a couple of months ago, and he wasn't planning on playing pro ball.

Demonpenz 04-30-2006 04:52 PM

i think slay may be slow or something but he can rip people up that is for sure

Ed Hinkle is a guy I would like to pick up...I thought he would be a nice grab in the 6th to 7th round range.

jiveturkey 04-30-2006 05:36 PM

I heard it mentioned on the radio that we are currently trying to sign 3 defenders from KU.

Gordon was one of them.

KU’s Reid says he'll sign with Chiefs as free agent
By JASON KING
The Kansas City Star

LAWRENCE — Even though he wasn’t selected in this weekend’s NFL draft, Kansas linebacker Nick Reid has managed to find a new home.

Reid told The Star on Sunday evening that he’s expecting to sign a free-agent contract with the Chiefs.

“As far as I know, that’s what’s going to happen,” Reid said. “My agent is busy right now trying to work out the details, but the Chiefs were the first ones to call after the draft. That’s where I want to be.”

He entered the weekend hopeful he’d be picked in the draft, but no NFL team selected Reid, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Reid was one of four KU players who saw his hopes of being drafted dashed.

Defensive end Charlton Keith, cornerback Charles Gordon and receiver Mark Simmons all went unselected, though Simmons signed with the San Diego Chargers. The snub had to be particularly frustrating for Gordon, who left school a year early to turn pro.

“It was a long, boring, frustrating day,” Reid said. “I’m just glad it ended on a good note.”

Damn, that was an incredible hit. Someone needs to make that an avi.

BTW,
I would have suggested Tony Palmer, but STL took him towards the end of the draft.

Does anyone know what happened to "all-world" Gordon?

He doesn't have the measurables. Not only is he too small, he's slow as hell too.

I don't have a problem with bring in Reid, Charlton, and Gordon. They'll be PS fodder, and we might get lucky on one.

jiveturkey 04-30-2006 07:30 PM

Gordon just signed with the Vikings.

I'd love for the chiefs to get Charlton Kieth, he is tall and atheletic. He does need to add some size/muscle, but I was very impressed by him this past yr. That INT for a TD against Houston in their bowl game was just incredible for a guy his size.

chief2000 04-30-2006 09:23 PM

Kieth going to Cleveland

royr17 04-30-2006 09:32 PM

I want the Chiefs to bring in Gerald Riggs.

He didnt get drafted. I think he could be just like Priest. His injuries was what killed his draft status.

But he is a very talented running back.

chief2000 04-30-2006 09:52 PM

Good player.

Heard the S.Florida rb went undrafted too.

Not sure on Priest and the little guy.

Accordin to Warpaintillustrated 2 other players are joinin the chiefs named Jake Slaughter and Danny Melendez. Does anybody know anything about them ?

royr17 04-30-2006 10:18 PM

Chiefs offered Charlot Keith a deal but he turned it down and went to Cleaveland instead, bastage.

DITTO man.. I'd love to see Ed Hinkel in a Chiefs uniform. This guy is so underrated it's unreal. He had the fastest shuttle time of ANY WR in the entire draft. That is great starting speed and with a decent 4.50 forty, he will easily contribute wherever he goes. People say he has great hands because of his amazing catches, but never give him credit for having decent speed.

HolmeZz 05-01-2006 12:51 AM

Ed Hinkel signed with Baltimore.

Gerald Riggs signed with Miami.

Clinton Solomon supposedly leaning to St. Louis.

Andre Hall signed with Tampa.

el borracho 05-01-2006 12:58 AM

Dontrell Moore still available? That would be cool to have a lobo on the team.

Damnit, Tahi's a Bengal.

DonTrell Moore could have probably beaten out Griffin...
