Ty Law Countdown Thread..All Ty Law Rumors Here

Ok less than 2 weeks from camp so the Ty Law rumor clock must be getting ready to kick into high gear.

Personally I think he will sign with us a day or 2 before if not a day or 2 after camp starts.

Now WHO he signs with is the big question :hmmm:

penguinz 07-17-2006 12:12 PM

I think he will mount Scanlon like a horse and ride into camp wearing butt-less chaps and a pink feather boa.

DaKCMan AP 07-17-2006 12:31 PM

I heard a rumor that Ty Law used to play QB and that he once intercepted his own pass. Twice.

HemiEd 07-17-2006 12:34 PM

We do not need Ty Law because he drinks water.

Holy crap! Ty law has been working out this offseason with Mike Pederson?

Oh yeah.....if Ty Law indeed rode into camp piggyback upon the shoulders of the Mighty Scanlon, and chose to be a color related to the team color of ty law....it'd be Money Green.

I have some actual news...check that, it's from John Clayton, so we'll call it a gut feeling....he said on NFL live today that he expects Law to wait until two-a-days are over and then he'll take $7 million per year from New England.

CHENZ A! 07-18-2006 05:23 PM

Why does everyone seem to think Law will wait until two a days are over, or until right before the first preseason game to sign? Having just read that article about how hard he is supposedly working out with that Kersee guy, you'd think he wouldn't be afraid of a few football practices.

BigRock 07-18-2006 05:39 PM

Clayton has been saying Law would go back to NE for months now. To hear him talk, KC hardly seems in the mix.

Chiefsallday 07-18-2006 07:57 PM

interesting

Chief Roundup 07-18-2006 08:26 PM

Do you think the signing of Law will somehow effect the signings of Johnson, Gonzo, and Mitchell next year?

NJ Chief Fan 07-18-2006 08:42 PM

CHIEFS SIGN .....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For whatever this is worth... and I'm guessing not much...

Krupka: Source says Law to sign in KC soon

Much of the offseason talk by Kansas City Chiefs fans has dealt with the possibility of adding free-agent All-Pro cornerback Ty Law to the secondary. Fans have continuously called for president and general manager Carl Peterson to make a deal happen. Well, now they might finally be getting their wish.

A source close to Law has intimated that he is likely to sign with Kansas City. The deal isn't expected to happen for another few weeks, however, since Law would like to continue working out on his own and then join the Chiefs a few weeks into training camp. It's important to note that there has been no confirmation of this from the team or league officials.

At the present time, Law has been training and working out in Miami, as he prepares himself for the upcoming season.

The 11-year veteran spent his first 10 seasons in the league as a member of the New England Patriots . He won three Super Bowl titles, earned All-Pro status, and was selected to three Pro Bowls (1998, 2002, 2003). In the aforementioned 10 seasons, he accumulated 634 tackles, 36 interceptions, six touchdowns, and four sacks.

After an injury-plagued 2004 campaign with the Patriots, Law was released and eventually signed a three-year, $23 million contract with the New York Jets . In his first and only year in the "Big Apple," Law proved to be worth every penny. He tallied 62 tackles and finished tied with cornerback Deltha O'Neal of the Cincinnati Bengals for the league lead in interceptions with 10, en route to his fourth Pro Bowl appearance.

The 5-11, 200-pounder will be a welcome addition to a defense that surrendered a mediocre 20.3 points per game and finished in the middle of the pack in interceptions (17th) last season. Adding the ballhawk to the defense is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Chiefs, and should immediately help a weak unit become at least average.

Other frontrunners to land Law include the Patriots and Arizona Cardinals . Unfortunately for those two franchises, it appears they'll be out of luck.

Again, there has been no confirmation from league or team officials on this report.

This guy has scooped just about everyone, since just about everyone else tells us that Law has been working out in StL this offseason.
