Im sticking with 11-5. The offense might dropoff to around 10th but I think the defense will jump into the top 10 and everything will balance out.

10-6...I don't think our schedule is all that bad, and at least this year, we'll be able to plan for Roaf's abscence, so hopefully there won't be any more games like the Buffalo game last year.

10-6 baby! Last year was a aberation. 10-6 98% of the time will get you in the playoffs. I had to drop it down from 99% :)

This is truly awful.

Next to Green, the biggest piece to making this offense click just retired. This offense is average without him. We saw it last year.

The defense will improve, but not enough to balance things out.

I had us at 11-5. I say 9-7 (optimistically). Probably 8-8.

This is the worst morning I've had in a while. Hopefully, he'll take training camp off and decide that he feels great. He'll come back and we will go on to offensive glory.

BTW - This also hurts LJ in the fantasy rankings.

810 was reporting that the Chiefs camp isn't that concerned about him actually retiring. Basically said that it's his way of giving the finger to training camp.

Eff if I care if he goes through training camp or not. Just get him 2 quarters of preseason ball and he'll be fine.

I will stand in for him at training camp if that's what it takes.

I'd feel a lot better about this rumor if it were coming from a more reliabile source, such as ProFootballTalk.com

Looks like my decision b/n LJ and LT as my 1 player keeper just swayed way to the other side. But we'll wait and see, got 3 weeks to decide.

I was wrong about asking Ty Law to play WR too. I meant LT.

Now our offense is going to remind us of the Martyball days. Without Roaf, Herm will probably be too afraid to drop Green back and go downfield very often, so we'll be seeing a lot of "3 yards and a cloud of dust" as we try to pound away with Larry. It could work, but it should definitely be a change from what we've been used to seeing.

However, if an OT (like Jordan Black, for example) comes in and gets the entire training camp as part of the first team and gets a ton of reps, he could become very comfortable in the offense and prove to be better than the replacements for Roaf were last year.

I'm just rambling...let me know if you think I'm way off.

I still think, without Roaf, that this board will spend the entire season whining about Martyball.

8-8 and I agree with Parker, but then I figured we were not going to like the new offense even with Roaf still around.

Not giddy, just not as dissappointed as those who were not preparing for a significant reduction in offensive production.
