I can't remember a time (over the last 6 yrs) when I've been this uninterested in the Planet. I'm checking in less and less every week. Some of that is work and family commitments, but mostly because there's less of a connection with the people and the forum (for me) than in the past.

Not complaining, as I've been lucky to have a great place to talk Chiefs football for this long. I'm just saying that CP has lost a bit of it's "burst" in the last couple of years. JMHO.

this is kind of what I'm experiencing too, plus wondering, just like players, time takes its toll.

I took a lot of time off in the spring and summer because I wasn't happy with the direction of the place. I've come back during the season, but it's still not what it was a couple of years ago. Some of that is because some good folks are gone. And maybe some of it is just familiarity breeds contempt.

My opinion may not count for much, but I can tell you that I find it to be less and less interesting, it doesn't have the "bite" that it did a year ago. Too much kissing ass going on, and too many truly useless, repetitive (spelling?) threads, and even though I am probably not very well liked - I can name many other newer folks that are much less likeable than I.

Shouldn't this be part of a "I'm leaving forever" thread? Cripes, everyone else has had one...

I think what is missing is....a lot of the humor from moderators and "regulars" who are no longer here, or don't post as often....for whatever reason.

Change is the one inevitability in life though. The beat goes on....

Could it be that this place has lost its burst because the Chiefs have been sucking for a long time? When there isn't much positive news to report or read about the Chiefs it gets a little depressing. JMO

I click on fewer and fewer threads it seems like because most of them look uninteresting. I'm not going to read a thread on how to fix a leaky pipe in my kitchen or whatever.

There's very little football talk even in midseason, and what there is usually is some kneejerk "omg herm sux" thread or "omg carl sucks". There's not even really any discussion about next week's opponent.

Most of the recent noobs are changing the board dynamic IMO, away from mostly football oriented stuff to a place to post youtube videos and talk about poop.

Not that those things are bad. But a new person comes here probably and looks all over the front page and sees 2 or 3 threads about the Chiefs out of however many and the rest looks like what you would hear in a junior high bathroom.

Not as bad as the dark time when the main lounge was all jaz and meme spam, but still, not that interesting.

I think that's what makes the Planet great, though.

Posters from other boards come here and find out that it's not all just football talk, they can say what they want about what they want.

I think this may help even recruit new Chiefs fans.


But a lot of the topics just aren't that interesting

If the crowd is quiet during Sundays game we will know where to point the fingers.

There are two different threads with this week's injury report.

One is about Tiki Barber.

One about Warren Sapp

One about the Eagles' inability to run the ball.



Isn't this Chiefs planet? There's are only really 2 threads about the Chiefs out of 25, and one of them is a reeruned rehash of complete speculation.

Should we talk about how we got our asses handed to us in Pittsburgh?

Or about how far we are behind in our division, against 2 of the best teams in the NFL?

Or about how we just lost our FB for the season?

Or about how much LJ has sucked this year?

Or how every offseason worst nighmare has come true?

Or about how our defense was exposed, and we have had the same problems for 5 straight years, and we still cannot seem to fix them?

This is how you know this place is different. Here in the middle of the day, there is a thread on the main page that was started yesterday and half of the threads on the front page aren't worth clicking through. I just roll over most of them now.

Rarely, do we get a thread that rages. Don't look at me, I quit trying to post threads a long time ago, when my head repeatedly got chewed off for posting dumb threads. I think a lot of posters have encountered that under the guise of n00b, or dumbass, or you don't know anything about football, etc.

Fug it, I would rather go face my store.

Big embarrassing losses have always made this place look like a ghost town for a week.

No chit, but this time it seems as if we are use to it. I mean, we all know we don't have a left tackle, and we don't have a QB, and we don't have a RT, and we have an aging G and are week at DT, and a new coach and a new OC, and when you get those kind of things with an offense that was build on the strength of the OL, then, well, teh suckage abounds.

I respect people's privacy, but that whole episode, where you can tell things have changed drastically, and some people know some stuff, and some know some other stuff, but you know nothing, makes for a surreal aura surrounding the place.

Unless we get a Chiefs coach or player to start posting i'm pretty sure most of it IS speculation, thats what we do here i thought.
