Where do you live?

I've been curious, for a while, and I've never seen a thread about it. Where does everybody live? Why did you move there? Do you like it? Do you recommend living there to a fellow planateer? Explain yourselves

DaFace 12-13-2006 10:57 PM

There have been a couple maps done about it in the past. Here's one of 'em:

I'm in Emporia, KS for the next five days, but I'm moving to Denver after that. Emporia's not bad, though I wouldn't want to live the rest of my life here. I hope Denver will be a nice place to live if I can keep away from the Donkey stench.

Bugeater 12-13-2006 11:02 PM

Um...Omaha. Didn't move here, I was born here. Do I like it? It's not bad, I certainly wouldn't want to live in a bigger city. Would I recommend a fellow Planeteer to live here? Sure, why not.

Here's a festive Holiday picture of downtown Omaha.

My hope is that Rain Man can teach me how to survive amongst the enemy. He seems to have mastered it.

Phobia 12-13-2006 11:08 PM

I live in the Kansas City area. I'm not incredibly happy here, no. I think I'd rather be back in Texas. Maybe.

DJJasonp 12-13-2006 11:11 PM

San Diego....currently surrounded by a bunch of Charger fans with jerseys so new...the tags are still on them.

BWillie 12-13-2006 11:14 PM

I live North of the River, in Kansas City, Missouri. Pretty much 2 blocks away from SW Gladstone though. I kind of like it up in the Northland. Less traffic, less douchebags, but a long drive to anything important except casino's. I think I'm going to move down to Johnson County closer to my job in 4-5 months though, the drive is just killing me.

boogblaster 12-13-2006 11:15 PM

Quincy Kansas you blink you missed it..nothing much goes on here usually, just watch the grass grow..if thats too slow for ya..try chasing pussy, none of that around here either.....

I won't tell you what state I live in, just that's it's down south somewhere.

Archie F. Swin 12-13-2006 11:41 PM

Born in Topeka
Raised in Lawton, OK(went to W. Shields rival high school)
Actually came to Wichita Falls to start my wife's career, and stumbled on to one myself.
Eventually I'd like to get a little deeper into the Chiefs Nation

Dover, Delaware- Pop. 34,288[1]. This town's about 300 years old. And it's beginning to smell funny.

Nothing much goes on here, but we're within a two hour drive from Philly, Baltimore, or DC for those who like to head out to the city for awhile.

Grew up in Iowa, spent ten years in KC (Plaza, Roeland Park and Lenexa) Live in Burlington Wisconsin now, nice place, great fishing, but people are not nearly as friendly as KC.
We really miss KC, hopefully we will be back.

BWillie 12-14-2006 02:17 AM

Wow, good to see all the displaced Chiefs fan's representing KC around the nation. I'm suprised there are so many of you from other states not listed. Come out of the wood work..what states are they?

L.A. Chieffan 12-14-2006 02:30 AM

Well, from my screenname it's pretty obvious where I'm from. However, I still visit relatives in the KC area although not as much as I did when I was a kid.
My grandparents live in Belton, and I have an Uncle who lives at "The Lake". My parents were born and raised in KC and my dad brought his love for the Chiefs to Cali with him and it trickled down to me. (thanks dad)
My grandparents use to live right on state line until a few years ago. It was like some HUGE (to a city boy) 200 acre spread that would provide me of many fond memories growing up. I still miss fishing in their lake and shooting the heads off of snapping turtles with my grandpa. :D

Imperial, Pennsylvania

I moved here from Phoenix due to a promotion at work. It is a suburb of Pittsburgh. It is a small village amd is a quaint little place. The weather is mild, there are no bugs to speak of except ladybugs. Lots of hills, great for cycling. The only drawback is there is a local football team here that has a tradition of winning Super Bowls and their fans are obnoxious.

KCKID58 12-14-2006 06:57 AM

Richmond,Va. here. I lived in NJ for thirty years and moved here 8 years ago. I really love it here. Great place to raise children.

JohninGpt 12-14-2006 07:16 AM

Suffolk, VA. I'll retire from the Navy in 18 months and head back to the Tulsa area.

John's Creek area for those who know the town.

bigpimpingchief 12-14-2006 08:40 AM

Reading, Pennsylvania. Technically it's Shoemakersville but it's a suburb that is close to Reading. I'm stuck watching and hearing about the eagles and steelers. :banghead: :#

Saulbadguy 12-14-2006 08:41 AM

Topeka. It sucks.

ck_IN 12-14-2006 08:53 AM

Indianapolis Indiana.

BTW: I got a chuckle when I saw 'St. Josephs'. Somehow mistyping the name of that place is just sooo appropriate. I can say that since I was raised there. :)

ChiefsOne 12-14-2006 09:01 AM

Springfield, MO been here since '88 except for the two years I lived in KC '91-'93.

I have a cousin that lives in Lockwood, John Smith, the one-armed one, incase there are more than one.

Reerun_KC 12-14-2006 09:04 AM

I live in Edmond OK, I think I am the only chiefs fan in OKC and maybe one of 2 or 3 in the state.

We are consumed by Cowboy fans...

I lived in Freeman for a couple years back in the early 70's, about 1/2 mile down a gravel road from Cass Midway school.

Born in Manhattan (kansas) raised in a little town called Moran Kansas and currently live a couple of miles outside of Savonburg Kansas population 94 which is about an hour and a half south of the KC metro area. Its quiet but if you listen real close sometimes you can hear banjo music.

UH-OH DH, here come the Moran jokes in 3...2...1...

noa 12-14-2006 09:57 AM

I live in our nation's capital. I like it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes city life. I also like not having a car and just relying on public transportation.

Like I haven't heard all of them already. Moran has one claim to fame Miss America 1968. I think she was like the only good looking female ever in the history of the town.

Talk about cheezy they have Gas Kan painted on their water tower and even tried to get it in the Guiness book of world records as the worlds largest gas can. I can just see some family vacations being re routed for that great tourist attraction.
