I'm a big fan of global warming. The ice caps are worthless anyway. And waterworld was a cool movie, that would be cool to have gills and shit.

88TG88 02-13-2007 11:58 PM

thats pretty funny

T-post Tom 02-13-2007 11:59 PM

hmmmm....

It's difficult for me to see the irony when 2006 was the fifth-warmest year in the past century. Not only that, our atmosphere now has its highest levels of carbon dioxide in over 650,000 years. Scientists are also predicting that 2007 is likely to be the warmest year ever.

And the high tommorow would be 65 and not 18 ****ing degrees.

Maybe one day reeruns will realize that global warming has nothing to do with the your local weather and that might mean that people actually read about it and have an educated opinion instead of blind, uneducated bias.

Bob Dole would like to request that it begin immediately.

It's pretty worthless to be sitting 100 yards from the Gulf of Mexico when it's 41 degrees outside.

while surfing the internets last night I went from The Onion to Drudge and that was the headline...

Why were there even warmer years over a century ago? I blame wagon trains.

Why is it so hard to see the irony? It is ironic that a meeting on global warming was cancelled due to an ice storm, regardless of your views on the subject.

Thank you. That is all it is, I found it humorous so I posted in a way that was non-political thus putting it in this forum and not the DC.

boogblaster 02-14-2007 10:15 AM

My guess is the ice-storm got there just in time..other wise lots of monies would have been apporpriated to study now long it will take to warm up Hillary Clinton's bloomers...

StcChief 02-14-2007 10:30 AM

Because there is no irony? It'd be ironic if some icebergs got bigger and the sea level dropped a little.

Yeah, no shit, I get the "joke", except there is no irony if you know WTF Global Warming is about.

Whatever dude, I bet your liberal ass thinks that humans and dinosaurs didn't live together either, huh?

RJ 02-14-2007 08:33 PM

You know what else would be ironic? A picture of a bunch of Exxon guys and their scientists standing in a downtown Houston street with water up past their knees....that would be ironic but we probably wouldn't laugh cause it would also be kinda scary, I think.

Smed1065 02-14-2007 10:05 PM

In the 70's it was getting cooler and it was "our" fault. Now its "our" fault its getting warmer.

IIRC the scientific report stated that there was no stopping it, if that is the case.

Why fight it? ROFL

And all this is based on the last 30 years, since we've had the computing power to back up the science.

I'm sure while we were driving around in horse drawn buggies and marveling at electricity our temprature measurements were 100% accurate...

Ya try to drop a little knowledge and folks go talk radio on you. Show some concern for our children's future and the perjorative, partisan barbs come out. It's unfortunate that some are so tied to their partisan rhetoric that they can't accept the proven scientific facts regarding global warming and green house gases. Even more surprising coming from a denizen of 'The Basin.' :shake:
