Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports the Miami Dolphins will sign free agent LB Joey Porter (Steelers) to a multi-year deal worth roughly $24 million Tuesday, March 6, according to WPXI-Channel 11. Porter will receive a signing bonus of roughly $12 million.

ESPN is saying its a 5 year $32 million deal with $20 million guaranteed.

Hmmm...

Joey Porter right behind Jason Taylor, and beside Zach Thomas. Nicely done Dolphins...

Hoover 03-06-2007 09:57 AM

Great move for them, now they just need Trent Green.

ct 03-06-2007 09:58 AM

Now Miami, any interest in a veteran starting QB for a 2nd round pick?

Amnorix 03-06-2007 10:05 AM

Ugh.

Better (barely) than having him go to the Jets. This ought to be interesting -- most of the Pats locker room truly dislikes this guy (unlike, for example, Jason Taylor).

Nice addition to a rising D

ck_IN 03-06-2007 10:14 AM

Interesting. They have an excellent but old D. What's Porters age? I was thinking he was getting up there too.

Now all those guys need is a QB and maybe another WR and they could challenge the Pats in that weak azzed division.

He's 30

Good move for them.

kcxiv 03-06-2007 11:21 AM

Porter still has about 2-4 solid years left in him.

CoMoChief 03-06-2007 11:27 AM

Jesus Christ.......Porter and Taylor lined up on the same side.

I know what defense I'm choosing for my fantasy league.

Ebolapox 03-06-2007 11:27 AM

great signing depending on the cash (but in this market, anything less than 50 million for a 'backer is good money)

BigChiefFan 03-06-2007 11:28 AM

Porter was beast in Pitt. I'm surprised the Dolphins went after him, but I'm sure it will upgrade their defense. Porter is a stud.

No crap. I have learned along time ago. If you want to win in FF, stay the hell away from anything Chiefs...

I have had zero chiefs the last 3 years, won once and been top 3 each year.

That's kind of a BITTER/SWEET pill to swallow on game day isn't it?

Sad But True :banghead:

Halfcan 03-06-2007 12:42 PM

Wow we get Nappy Harris and they get Porter-just doesn't seem fair.

I have had Gonzalez every year for the past 8 and have finished in top 3 in all of my leagues save one, our kickers during the DV era were good pickups as well.

The one year I didnt finish in the top 3, was 04 I had gotten Priest as the 2nd overall pick and he got hurt.
