Two Down... How many more to go?

I really like what we have done so far this offseason... The two people we signed are better than the people they are replacing.

Now, what else needs to be done?

QB- Keep Trent.... or Trade Trent?
WR- Re-sign Sammie?... or go after Kevin Curtis?
DT- Sims future, Re-sign Wilkerson, Reed, the other dude? Who else is available?
RG- Shields replacement? Welbourn? Re-sign Black to play guard?
RT- Svitek, Sampson?
OLB- Bell...? Re-sign Mitchel?... go after Edwards?
CB- Nickel- Sapp?... get any younger?
Safety- Start the young guys now?

I would really like to pick up some draft picks... I hope we atleast address WR and DT before the Draft.

What do you guys think?

I know DT is very important, but does anyone else look at this chart and realize how god awful we are at WR?
I mean seriously, that's a glaring weak spot and it definitely needs an upgrade, and Kevin Curtis ain't it.

This is not the time, nor place to discuss this very important issue.

I would us to draft a # 1 Reciever, have Curtis as a# 2, Eddie as 3, Parker as 4, if we still have Hall then keep him at 5

007 03-06-2007 02:56 PM

STill think the OL needs help. WR is glaring after Kennison though.

WR is a weakness, but KC can't even line up at play a football game with the DT's we have now. Edwards and Reed are shopping around, Sims will be cut, Wilkerson is a FA, and nobody else is worth a crap. At least we have some WR's in place.

ALso, I think RG will be filled by Welbourn, and RT will be filled by Chris Terry. It's been rumored that KC is expecting big things out of Chris Terry at RT.

Yea that is scary... we have nothing at that position... we will probably only draft one DT... I would rather have Sims take a paycut and keep him as a reserve... Maybe he might pick it up a bit!

Archie Bunker 03-06-2007 03:05 PM

They need 2 FA DTs, 1 more FA OL, and 1 DE to fill in for Allen.

I think they will draft a WR early to compete with Webb and Hannon for the #2 and #3 spots so I don't see them signing one.

Yes, I agree - it's just that everytime I thinka bout that WR issue I cringe. After I cringe about DT's that is.

I think some would agree that you can't possibly remind consumers enough.

My prediction.....

1 Street DT, hopefully Ian Scott.
Re-sign either Edwards or Reed
Re-sign Willkerson as the 3rd DT and replacement DE while Allen is out
Kevin "Fastest White Man in the League" Curtis, although this is more wishful thinking than reality.

Ian Scott would be nice. I'm not sure any of the rest would be an upgrade over Reed and Edwards.

recxjake 03-06-2007 03:21 PM

Wasn't Ian Scott a backup in Chicago?

He was part of the rotation, but started after Tommie Harris got hurt. I also believe he was a starter 2 years ago before Tank Johnson took over.

I hope we get him and draft a stud, then have edwards and Wilkerson as the backups... maybe keep Sims if he takes a big pay cut

Direckshun 03-06-2007 03:34 PM

Direckshun's DL dream, the first four weeks...

Starters: Hali, Scott, draft pick stud, Wilkerson the first four weeks and Allen afterwards

Edwards and Reed backing up as well as Wilkerson after the first four weeks, Hicks on reserve, joined by Reed when Allen comes back.

Direckshun 03-06-2007 03:42 PM

By the way, what are the odds we could do something crazy like trade Hall, Bell, Sims, or somebody like that for one of the good kickers out there?

Where you get the list. Nice.

Has anyone seen Ian Scott play ? Why him over Starks ?

Direckshun 03-06-2007 03:45 PM

There's less red tape in getting to Scott than Starks because Scott is UFA.

Scott filled in great for the Bears until the Super Bowl. I'd love to see him in Red.

Kylo Ren 03-06-2007 04:12 PM

QB- trade Trent
LB - trade Bell, sign Edwards
WR- go after Kevin Curtis, resign Sammie as 3rd or 4th WR
DT- keep Sims, release Wilkerson, sign Reed, release Edards, DRAFT OKOYE!
RG- Shields will retire, Welbourn will replace him, release Black
RT- Svitek, Sampson - Yes, either one
CB- DRAFT A CB!
Safety- Start both young guys now!!!!

I'll never buy another GM product. The automobiles I've had lately have gone over 150k, 200k and almost hit 300k before I has assistance in totaling them. Did the same maintenance with them and never had a warranty issue come up.
