Chiefs 2007 Schedule Released
Chiefs open, close season with road games
By ADAM TEICHER The Kansas City Star The Chiefs will begin and finish the season with a pair of road games, according to the schedule released by the NFL today. The Chiefs will open with games at Houston on Sept. 9 and at defending NFC champion Chicago on Sept. 16. The home opener is Sept. 23 against Minnesota. The Chiefs will play six of eight games at Arrowhead Stadium during one mid-season stretch. They are scheduled for no national television appearances other than their season finale on Dec. 30 against the Jets in New York. The game is tentatively scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. and be televised by NBC. The network has the option of showing a different game in that window, meaning the Chiefs-Jets game would switch to an afternoon time slot. 3 out of the first 4 games are on the road.
But we have a stretch of 7 out of 10 games at home in the middle of the season. |
Dear lord, that schedule sucks ass. 2 pairs of away games and they couldn't even do it with the bye week. Then that Denver,Indy,Oak,SD,Den stretch is set up to be pretty brutal.
eh. |
3 tough road games without Jared. :banghead:
|
If Croyle starts, good lord does he have a tough start. 3 of the first 4 away against 2 tough defenses.
|
We are ****ed.
|
10-6
|
No national games sucks after the Thanksgiving showing last year?
I expect the Chiefs and Jets game will be bumped. Bye week is fine. |

Okay, so I vote Nzoner has his shindig on 9/30.

Be realistic here 6-10 is more like it... you have to have something that resembles an offense... |
OK....well, who wants to plan a road trip to Houston?

When are we ever going to get back onto national TV? We were in the playoffs last year, we have LJ. Maybe they are punishing Kiong Carl for something?:hmmm: |
I personally don't care about national TV. I'd rather see the Chiefs as early as possible.
|
It looks like we will find out real fast what kind of road team Hermie can build.

Monday night Meltdown? We were embarrased in the playoffs... I am sure they are punishing us for our the lack of offense we seem to show lately.. |

I like this schedule. It seems to set up nicely for a mid-season push.
|
Well i cant see worse than a 2-2 start & the indy - dinveer back to back sux...but other than that i see a lot of winnable games, especially going down the stretch.
We've had worse schedules IMO. |

My losses are @Chicago, @ Denver, @ San Diego, @ NYJ, @ Indianapolis. We might lose to Cincy at home. |
Funny, this was the first time I've ever looked at the schedule and thought "thank God, no Monday Night Football".
|
This is a good schedule. If we are a good team we should easily make the playoffs with this schedule.

Looking that over, I was thinking 8-8 or 9-7.

Plus when you are on MNF, that Sunday sucks because... no Chiefs. And if it were at home, you'd have to get off work early, fight rush hour traffic plus Chiefs traffic, get out of the parking lot at what, 11:30, 12, be dead tired the next day. Sunday at noon every week suits me just fine. |
Cochise nailed it. Primetime games SUCK!

not the worast schedule at least we'll have a little confidence builder (or well no it will be a real long season) for week one. .
|
Chiefs will go 13-3 this year

I'm actually slightly scared of Houston in week one. The fans down here will pack the place.
|
FCK! I dont want to go to the Meadolands at the end of December, its going to be like negative 30 degrees at the stadium!
|
I have the team at 9-6 heading into the Jets game. The home games against Green Bay, Jacksonville and Cincinnati will be crucial. It's also not easy to win on the road in week one.

Thank goodness they dont have a game on 6/9 |

Oh wait, no they're not. |

yeah, but hopefully (even in a first game) our D will take it to their new offense more than their D will take it to ours..... |

sorry Big Red Chief, I didn't see this one and got caught by GoChief's repost......
I asked there, so I'll ask here. I know it's early, but what is the possiblility that there will be a roadtrip from all over to Chicago. I'm in St. Louis, so I might try to make that one. Any Chiefs fans in Chicago? |

which is what I based my comment on, so a good moderate road game challenge to start the season, we can win that one..... split with Denver and SD, two more losses (chicago and Indy) and we go 12-4, hopefully....... |

Your walmart stories are more amusing. Make sure to post a thread when you graduate to going to the mall in Springfield. |

No National Games (except 1) is excellent
We tend to embarrass ourselves in national games |

I'm tired of seeing the same damn posts day in and day out. People whining about their lives, bitching about other people, bragging about things that only they care about and no one else gives a shit about. I'm especially tired of accomplishments that people post that suggest they be rewarded for shit that average people do on a daily basis. THis brings me to the ol fork in the road. I think from now on whenever I accomplish something, even if its like breathing, I'll make a thread about it, celebrating my hollow victory. because I care that much for everyone and i'll know down deep they all want to hear what I am doing. *Update posted soon* |
brutal
9-16 at Chicago 3:15 p.m. 9-30 at San Diego 3:15 p.m. 10-14 CINCINNATI noon 11-18 at Indianapolis noon 12-2 SAN DIEGO noon 12-9 at Denver 3:15 p.m. 12-16 TENNESSEE noon 12-30 at New York Jets 7:15 p.m. could easily lose all of these |

ESPN will air a two-hour special about the NFL schedule starting at noon.

but the reality is that they are the more talented team right now |

And that is a rough schedule. We had best go 7-1 or better at home this year. |

I don't know about a road trip for me. The last one to Indy didn't work out so well... |

Perfect time of year to have your bye week.

maybe they will implode .... but AS OF RIGHT NOW, you have to judge them as the better team. besides, i can't see that our coaching staff is anything special thus far either. hopefully things go well |

How many times are the Broncos on in primetime this year? |

This schedule broke about as good as it could. Indy and Chicago are likely losses wherever the game is played. Better burn a road game on those so we can catch Jax and Cinn at home, where we might have a chance. The two road games to stsart the season don't bother me. The first is winnable. We could easily start the season 1-1 after two road games. Finishing two on the road is not so bad either, because the first one is Detroit. We even have a chance against the Jets on the road. We have good chances to go 3-1 against the NFC North and 3-1 against the AFC South. We get the easier of the two 2nd place teams (Jets) on the road and the harder one at home (Cinn). Can't ask for much more than that. |

Seems like a pretty easy schedule to me. Even if we're an average team with our home field we should be able to get at least 9 wins out of that. Of course you never know in the NFL.

6-10 unless we have an amazing draft.

Sucks that 3 out of 4 early games are on the road but is any NFL team happy about the schedule? |

Hmmm. Denver has 3 Monday Night games this year. 2 at home against Green Bay & Tennessee then the last one of the year at San Diego. |

3 MNF appearances is a lot but, as you know, the Denver Broncos are just plain sexy to the powers that be in TV land. |
Why 3 of first 4 on road....and 3 of last 4 on road?
You shouldnt get nailed on both ends of the schedule.... |

6-10 at best. I think we lose both games to Denver.
