ROLL CALL! Who's making the trip to Houston for the opener?

I'm definitely going. Maybe I can host a tailgate or something in the lovely 150-degree weather.

chagrin 04-11-2007 10:19 AM

Realistically, I may be able to make this trip - Mark me down for a Thumbs UP!

Phobia 04-11-2007 10:22 AM

I dunno - I'll bet it would be really easy to talk the wife into this one. Plus we're still Texans season ticket holders so I could sit in my old seats.

If not, maybe you can give me a deal on some seats. :p

Hammock Parties 04-11-2007 10:23 AM

The tix are still in the wife's name but the MIL has control of the seats, just in case we moved back and wanted our seats back. She writes them off and gives them to clients I believe.

Only if you bring your mom

tooge 04-11-2007 10:29 AM

I am probably out for houston, but I am going to go to Chicago for sure. Hanging out at the ESPN sportszone on saturday watching college ball then partying saturday night downtown on Rush St. area, then the game on sunday. Definitely!

Hammock Parties 04-11-2007 10:30 AM

Good deal on tickets.

Hey Ill go if I can get tickets for a decent price. Its not far at all from here.

TinyEvel 04-11-2007 05:14 PM

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to parlay one of my Dallas Biz trips into a diversion to that game.

I might be able to pull this off. All depends on airfare. Southwest isn't taking reservations for September yet, so I have no idea how cheap/expensive a RT ticket might be.....

EDIT: Continental NS from STL for $300.......

Closer to $200 and this becomes a reality.....

It's only a 4 hour drive from here, so we'll be there. I'll have the usual tailgating items(flagpole, canopy, grill, etc.), but will take the truck and leave the Command Center in KC. We had a very good time at the preseason game there last year, so I'm looking forward to it! :toast:

We'll have to get the parking passes up front if we want to tailgate anywhere close to the stadium. I parked in the blue section last year and would suggest tailgating there. :)

Would we have to sit near you?

How 'bout you make like a tree and get outta here.

PunkinDrublic 04-11-2007 07:31 PM

I might make the drive from Dallas.

SPchief 04-11-2007 07:44 PM

I wonder if C4ME will be providing any photo ops this year?

You should let a group from KC drive the Command Center down there and pay all our expenses.

runnercyclist 04-11-2007 09:30 PM

I'm thinking that I should avoid all road games this season. Since moving to Shitsburgh, the Chiefs are 0-4 in games that I have attended.

Sure! Do you want my credit card number now or should I just PM you with the number? ROFL

I'm only going if I can sleep in GoChiefs' sister's room

I promise to be gentle

I don't know. Do you know anyone giving away tickets?

PunkinDrublic 04-12-2007 09:21 AM

What time is the game by the way? I might just take an early morning flight and then fly back that night.

The game is at Noon.

We're going to drive down the night before and start tailgating early. I believe the gates open 4 hours before kickoff, so there will be plenty of time to get "prepped" before we go in. :toast:

That's not a bad idea. Dallas to Houston is one of the most boring 4 hour drives I've ever made. Making it twice on the same day would evoke thoughts of suicide.

I used to fly on corporate jets from Houston to Dallas once a week in about 30 minutes. That was nice.

Agreed, but that's why we drive down the day before. Also, I don't think the airline would let me include the grill and Chiefs canopy with the checked luggage. :)

To break up the monotony on the way back from Houston, there's a place called Texas Burger that's pretty good. They make a great milkshake, but I did pass the last time due to my post intoxicated state. ;)
