I would say that in many more disciplines it is KSU.

Washburn is pretty much only known for Law.

The End !

KSU had a run on football for serveral years but have slipped as of late. I would like to see them become a powerhouse football school again.

StcChief 04-12-2007 02:19 PM

I'll go with Chappy ROFL

Friendly University Central Kansas

GoHuge 04-12-2007 02:33 PM

I'm a big F.U.C.K fan. They're not just a funny abbreviation. It's a good school. I know some very intelligent people that went there.

What does KSU F-ball have is store for the big 12 this year. MU should be much stronger than last year.

Braincase 04-12-2007 03:00 PM

Depends...

If you want to be a Mechanical Engineer, go to KSU

but...

If you want to be a BioMechanical Engineer, KU by a longshot.

If you want to be an Aeronautical Engineer and work for an aircraft manufacturer, WSU

but...

If you want to be an Aerospace Engineer and work for NASA, KU

Also, I think when it comes to members of the fairer sex, there is a distinct difference between KU-pretty and K-State-pretty... but both are a damn sight better than North Dakota-pretty.

And if you want to date a Dental Hygienist, you have to go to Wichita.

dr00d 04-12-2007 03:36 PM

No surprise of the bias on this board toward all things KU...too many joco homers roam this board.

As someone who has K-State and WSU hours (paper from WSU) and close personal ties to KU (wife is faculty), I prefer Lawrence and KU, but I think if you'll read my previous post, you'll see I try to be deferential to all three of the Division I schools.

Tactical Funky 04-12-2007 06:22 PM

KU has an exceptional urban planning department - in which I'm currently studying. Good overall environmental science/policy program, too.

I'd say all three schools listed have their particular strengths (KSU and WSU both excel in aviation and engineering, KSU has a great veterinary medicine program, architecture and landscape architecture program, etc.), whereas KU has the best selection of well-ranked graduate programs, such as education, public health, urban planning, journalism and social welfare. KU, like KSU, also has a very strong undergraduate architecture school.

Plus, KU has a law school and a medical school.

Yup, I forgot the obvious choices... :banghead:

KU's medical program is top-notch, and I hear that that law school is pretty decent.

I grew up in Johnson County, and you are correct. The vast majority of the kids there grow up KU fans. Now, when I was graduating from HS in the early 80's, KSU was a complete after-thought for most kids at my school. I think out of a class of 250+ kids, we had maybe 10% going to KSU (of which, I was one of them).

I'd bet those stats for Johnson County Kids going to KSU have nearly doubled since then.

You're right. I've scooted a couple of DH's around the love pad.
