Clayton on Culpepper
on the radio:
said Culpepper had an operation on his knee in November, Miami claimed it was minor but now he is saying that he is out 4-6 months.... Clayton said it was increasingly likely that Culpepper will be released, and that Miami/Chiefs will make a deal right before the draft.... imho, Miami wants Trent to start, he ain't a backup or "insurance policy"....hopefully Carl is on his game with this one... so even though we don't have any real competitors with Miami, Culpepper's situation could give us leverage.. |
give us a 2nd rounder you bitches
|
Give us Chris Chambers you bitches.
|
Wait, GoChiefs has a radio show? Did he take Imus' spot?
|
They'd be the laughing stock of the league if they traded a 2nd round pick for a QB 3 straight years.....

I liked the idea of trading third rounders.
Now I like the idea of trading first rounders. Pony up, fuckers. :titus: |
Give us Jason Taylor and a 1st rounder bitches
|
2nd round pick or die, stinky fishes.
:bang: |

Here's another Idea: Trent and Allen for their 2nd and Jason Taylor. This way nobody can bitch about overpaying for an old guy. |
Mwahahahaha. **** them good!
|
Daunte started sucking before his first knee injury. Miami needs Trent more than we need to get rid of him. this gives us major leverage. I like it. :)
|
Trading first rounders would be sweet, but I don't think it will happen.

QB situation is about as bad as it can get
BY GREG COTE [email protected] and yet... "So the answer is . . . Trent Green? Trent Green, who is almost 37, and who missed much of last season because of a severe concussion. Trent was pretty good, once. Now, he's used up. Acquiring him (from Kansas City) could only feel more like recycling if the Dolphins found him sitting curbside in a plastic bin covered by cans and bottles. Desperate Miami should sign Green if the price is right (say, a sixth-round pick), just in case, but the idea any coach would prefer Green over a healthy Culpepper, or see him as more than a one-season stopgap, is insane." http://www.miamiherald.com/611/story/73896.html |
Miami sure showed a lot of insight by not taking a chance on the injured shoulder of Drew Brees and went with the safer choice in Culpepper.

Culpepper isn't healthy, and likely won't be on the team when the season starts... |

And if the Chiefs got that 2nd round pick, that would matter. Sorry, I don't mean to disregard what you're saying here, just trying to be sensible. |
Green with a broken leg could out-play Culsucker ....

Miami has repeatedly said they won't give more than a 6th. Green worth a second? Honestly maybe a couple years ago but not at his age now.
|
We gotta get back that 2nd we gave up for Surtain.

Thats pretty much the whole debate....Is Green really worth a 2nd? Probably not. How desperate is Miami for a veteran QB to fill in for a year or two? They will probably end giving more for Green than he is worth out of neccessity.... The answer is probably somewhere in between....if i had to guess: They give up a 3rd... |

Dolphins | Culpepper injury update
Sat, 14 Apr 2007 07:45:21 -0700 Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper (knee) revealed Friday, April 13, that a second knee procedure to remove scar tissue in November required a four-to-six month period of recovery. Culpepper had started sprinting last month during offseason workouts but began experiencing soreness, which led to him being told to stop running. "I just visited my doctor and my knee is stable," Culpepper said. "It's just not to point where I can go full speed yet. That's just the process I'm going through. There's no doubt in my mind I'll be able to play. Just when is the question." 4 to 6 months from November is March or May. Sounds more like 6 to 8 months. Either way I doubt that they dump Culpepper or they really are stupid. Culpepper probably starts the season on the PUP list. Daunte still has value when healthy. I think that the phins keep him at least for this season to try and recover something back out of him. I never really liked him myself though. |

If another QB goes down
during mini camps pre-draft this could get interesting |
We'll all be real happy if Brady Quinn drops to them and we get stuck holding Green and getting nothing for him.

a high 4th would be nice....stand strong Carl
|
If this doesn't get done before the draft we need Cleveland to take Quinn....if they don't this could blow up in our faces.

Bank on it, baby. :thumb: ;) |

seems a tad dramatic |

eehh....not a fan of Culpepper myself, plus that knee is clearly a lingering issue....but, my opinion aside, that would still be a good trade value.... |

Then again, I wouldn't feel right about doing that to Green; but I'm not Carl, so...:hmmm: |

do you seriously think that trading for Green is really going to impact whether or not either of those teams takes Brady Quinn? Why don't you think about that a little more and get back to us. |
If you can't at least get a 2nd keep the guy..hes served us fine ...
|
There's so much puff-talk on these Trent Green threads, I can't tell how much is serious. Could someone who knows how put up a poll for what people TRULY believe the Chiefs are going to get for Trent Green?

I guess the Dolphins have a 4th rounder, but no 5th. I figure we end up with the 4th rounder. |

Even I think that is TMI |

...And YOU are talking about TMI?? ROFL |
