You don't have to worry about a star horse beating children or girlfriends.

JimNasium 05-04-2019 05:36 PM

A lot of hate for the sport of kings. Kentucky horse racing culture is fascinating and fun.

EPodolak 05-04-2019 05:43 PM

Funny. The wife and I each picked our winners before the race, I took Country House only because I like long-shots to win.

Yeah, I'm not a fan, either. A horse bit me in the face when I was a little kid. All I was doing to trying to feed it an apple. ****er. Hope it ended up in a glue factory/Taco Bell somewhere.

To be fair there is 5 or 6 hours of build up and foreplay before a 2 minute sprint.

Easy 6 05-04-2019 06:25 PM

Agreed. There is no way you can predict that Country House would have won with any sort of definitive judgement

Country House won because he was second. The first place horse (max. security) clearly contacted another horse and caused several to get jumbled and lose momentum. Knocking Country House even further outside. He finished second on his own, but since Maximum Security was DQ'd - the second place horse won. Any other horse could have finished second and second would have been declared the winner.

The Kentucky Derby is just a more posh version of a game at Wrigley Field. The fans aren't there because they care about the event; they just want to get ****ed up.

scho63 05-05-2019 12:04 PM

I hope the horses I bet on all are at the glue factory today! BUMS!

Country Wind was on the outside and was never effected by the movement of Max Security. If you want to make a correction, they should of gave the race to the horse Max Security cut off, and that War of Will. So if they would of made War of Will the winner and Country Wind second, I could live with that, but not giving the win to the second place finisher who was never effected. I'll never watch that race again, I almost didn't watch it yesterday. I think it's one step up from dog racing, it should be outlawed. In fact in Florida we voted to ban dog racing and 70% voted to outlaw it and within two years dog racing will be history here.
