Order a Pizza, Help the Greensburg Tornado victims
credit to Lzen for posting in another thread:
i just got off the phone with Pizza hut and order a pizza and some wings. :D Pizza hut phone number - 648-8888 all Kansas Pizza Huts are donating 20% of each order to the relief fund to help the Greensburg Tornado victims. Make sure and tell them you want that donation. if you haven't seen it ... the town pretty much got completely destroyed. http://www.cbsnews.com/images/2007/0...age2766038.jpg so get some grub and help them out :thumb: it's today only! That's a great idea.

It's actually state wide in Kansas, for what it's worth. Make sure you specifically request it to make sure, though.

We got this email from Pizza Hut marketing in Wichita:
PS You gotta love this chicks last name. Good afternoon, > > If ordering a pizza was on your agenda for the week, do it Thursday!! > This Thursday, May 10th, Pizza Hut restaurants across the state of > Kansas are donating 20% of profits to the United Way Greensburg > Disaster Fund. The money will directly benefit those affected by this > past weekend's tornado. > > Spread the word! > > Thank you, > > Kelly > > Kelly Longenecker-Thomas > Marketing & Communications Manager > International Pizza Hut Franchise Holders Association > 7829 E. Rockhill , Suite 201 > Wichita , KS 67206 > (o) 316.685.1208 > (f) 316-685-2591 > www.iphfha.com |
needs a bump around dinner.

It's a good cause either way, but that's a BIG difference in terms of the revenue generated for the cause. |
I'll mention that I ended up ordering Pizza Hut for lunch, even though Greensburg won't get any of it. Damn successful charitable marketing techniques.

or you could just donate the $20 to them
|
I don't understand why you have to request for the donation to be made. I suppose it's still better than doing nothing.

might be using it as some kind of tax break too. either way knowing which sales where specifically for donation would be helpful information. |
That is very cool of Pizza hut to do that. I obviously can't order up, but that is good of them to do.
Hopefully some other places will follow suit and do something along those lines. |

It's ENTIRELY different. If it's 20% of sales it's a charitable act. If it's 20% of profit it's nothing more than a promotion. I'd like to know if anyone finds out about this for sure. Whatever they're doing is nice and all, but if this is a way for them to make 1 dollar off of that disaster, I will never eat their pizza again. It's one of my favorites too. |

So the question is.....
Did Pizza Hut make a profit yesterday? |
If i were godfathers I would promote along with tornado warnings, because their logo looks like a tornado

What an incredible promotion by Pizza Hut.
Good for them. |
Unfortunately for some reason Pizza Hut didn't take online orders yesterday. So I went with a toasty sub from Quizno's.
And maybe it is my paranoia or just the ass in me. Wouldn't it have been a better charitable night if the promo happened on a Friday night instead of Thursday? I'm sure Fridays are probaly their busiest and most profitable day. |

We have 2 pizza huts in town and the one I usually call is take out and delivery ONLY. I called at 5:00 PM and I was on hold for more than 10 minutes. :banghead: I hang up while still on hold and call the 2nd Pizza Hut that is Take Out or Dine IN ONLY. Make my order thier because I decided takeout would be FASTER than delivery. They told me it would be 45 minutes for my order to be ready. F*** ME :cuss: There was NO FUGG'N place to park for a BLOCK around the Pizza Hut. People were lined up OUTSIDE the door for takeout. Another line was halfway to the door for dine in and I spent 1/2 an hour just getting close the the counter. Finally they started calling names out and "MY NAME" got called ahead of 6 people in front of me. I got to cut in line. PBJ PBJ Long story short.... It was for a good cause but I am dissapointed in PIZZA HUT here in JC for NOT BEING READY. They had to know thier business was going to increase by a good margin? |
