When will Croyle start?

Left Tackle is not the only Offensive Line problem that could result in Huard being hurt, but it is a near certainty that Damon Huard will die if Svitek starts in a regular season game.

If Parker and friends can't get over that sharp sting when the ball hits them in the hands or LJ can't grow 24 inches to catch overthrown swing passes, the hook may be coming.

You don't have to pick the reason, just the week that Croyle gets the start. (Not just gets to play, but get's the start.)

Poll forthcoming just as quick as Damon Huard's limp carcass can be hauled off the field.

Logical 08-27-2007 09:14 PM

Only when the goodness of Damon Huard wears off and Hootie declares him a bust.

runnercyclist 08-27-2007 09:15 PM

Plays week 1, starts week 2.

TEX 08-27-2007 09:18 PM

Who knows? Maybe he'll start after the bye IF Huard can stay alive that long. Anyway, I'm still laughung at all the fools who tried telling me that Svitek," Wasn't that bad." He is. He's also worse than Black. Point is, no way I start Brodie behind our OL if the Chiefs really think he'll be something. I personally don't think he'll make it. We'll see.

Mr. Laz 08-27-2007 09:19 PM

first home game (wk 3 minnesota)

after the bye (Green bay)

CHENZ A! 08-27-2007 09:21 PM

NEXT YEAR!!!! BOOYAAA!!

Logical 08-27-2007 09:26 PM

If we are blessed by the saints above, it will be game 1.

Deberg_1990 08-27-2007 09:31 PM

If you can gurantee me that the fans will still fill the seats on Sunday no matter how bad he may be his first few years, ill be more than happy to let im start.

Your friend, Carl

I'm going to guess that Brodie will get the call just as the Doom Train rounds Dead Damon Curve. About week 3 or so, Mr. trndobrd.

When any of the following occur:

1. Huard gets killed
2. Huard fumbles away the game... again
3. we are officially out of the playoffs (about week 14)

greg63 08-27-2007 09:43 PM

You forgot the: "When Herm pulls his head out" option.

Archie Bunker 08-27-2007 09:45 PM

Week 5 after starting 0-4.

That's not an option.

Hootie says week 5 so I say week 5.

You really believe we will lose to both the Texans and the Vikings? I think we are 1 and 3 or maybe even 2 and 2 after those games. Looking at the schedule it appears we will hover annoyingly close to .500 for most of the season. We will probably be "in the race" this year until our 8th loss (I'm guessing week 13 at Denver).

I think the Chiefs can easily lose at Houston. Schaub, Green, Johnson on offense with no Allen to help Hali get pressure. On offense Huard starts slow, LJ is rusty vs an 8 man front.

If the Chiefs are 0-2 going into the home opener I think it will end much like the opener in 2004 against Carolina.

When hell freezes over, apparently.

Or when no more aged veterans with minimal talent are available to start ahead of him.

the Talking Can 08-27-2007 10:03 PM

where is the "when he sits behind Drew Brees for 3 years because that is what Philip Rivers did" option?

a1na2 08-27-2007 10:04 PM

Where is the "When Pigs Fly" option?

The youth movement died when Huard was named starter.

el borracho 08-27-2007 10:04 PM

Well, if we do start out 0-4 (not likely, IMO) I could imagine Croyle starting.

Bye, GB is the home logical choice. providing he's ready

Braincase 08-28-2007 07:10 AM

Croyle goes in when Huard gets carried off the field following a series of lookout blocks by the offensive line... or the dotted line, if you find that a more accurate description.

digi2fish 08-28-2007 07:12 AM

Casey Printers starts game 2

GoHuge 08-28-2007 07:22 AM

As soon as the playoffs aren't an option. As long as Carl can spin it that this is a playoff team Huard will play. I've just got a feeling that Huard will do what he did last year and keep Brody off the feild by his play. If the Chiefs do well and surprise us all I won't have a problem watching Huard take this team to a 10-6 record. Doubtful, but it won't hurt Brody to sit and learn another year. Judging by his play he needs it. Rivers sat for two years in San Diego and that worked out for him.

The problem with all the other young QB's in our division is they are all top 10 first round picks. Brody was a mid 3rd rounder and it is starting to show. With that said, those first round guys in the division also have decent o-lines, well not Oakland. Brody has had to show his skills while running for his life.

Chiefnj2 08-28-2007 07:24 AM

Not this year.

If he isn't ready now, why would he be any better or more prepared 4-8 weeks from now? Is he going to gain a ton of experience on the bench?

This is his first year as THE backup QB. Last year he wasn't getting any snaps with the first team offense. This year he will continue to get some practice with the first team throughout the season and will be much more involved in meetings and on game day.

It's not a bad progression, really. From 3rd string, to backup, to starter sometime through the season.

imo this is as much about the rest of the offense being ready for Croyle as it is the other way around.

as soon as the Oline and receivers are ready ... Croyle goes in.

CoMoChief 08-28-2007 10:35 AM

No way can Svitek start. Worse comes to worse put Turley at LT or something.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 08-28-2007 10:38 AM

Where's the "Maybe Next Year, unless the back-up in SF is available" option?

HonestChieffan 08-28-2007 10:38 AM

Huards leg will give out and week 3 is it

when Turley came back it was with the idea that the chiefs would put him at 1 position and leave him there. Turley isn't moving to left tackle.

I'm glad the game against the Texans comes so early because after an ass kicking from them we wont have to listen to the "I think we will come around next week crowd." One butt wooping from the texans should be enough to turn the attention of the average fan and maybe just maybe enough for the front office to say "what the hell lets see what weve got for next year"............................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .......................a guy can hope can't he?

Croyle will not start a single game this season. Huard will be the AFC Offensive player of the week at least once this season.

He won't play this year, unless Huard gets hurt and the Chiefs have no choice.

We're gonna hear every week that we're "in the hunt" for the playoffs and therefore we must stay with Huard.

And we will miss the playoffs and have a #19 over all draft pick and be exactly where we are right now at the beginning of next year........wow nowhere fast really is a place.

Rivers didn't sit for 3 years. He sat for 2 years and started the 3rd year.

I have been saying it for a while, Brodie starts at home against the Vikings.

So much for the collective wisdom of the Planet. No one selected week 6.
