Is everyone else elated they gave up their season tix this year?

I struggled with the decision to part ways with my season tix.
At the current moment, I'm happy as hell that I no longer have to invest $100 to each home game (including preseason games).

Granted my tickets were $80 this year, but parking is $25/game for Red Reserve. Not to mention the purchasing of the tailgating food, charcoal & hualing of the grill, etc.

Thank you Herm & Carl.
Next round's on me. I can afford it now.

I'm elated with anyone that gave up their season tickets-better upgrade for me next year.

Halfcan 10-07-2007 10:55 PM

You can get a ticket for $34.50 to any remaining games- season tickets are a rip.

You can move down- most every game. I sat behind the Chiefs bench during the Home Opener.

I would never sit that far down, can't see the action on the far side of the field. Aside from that, part of having season tickets (for me at least) is being around the same group of people every week/year. Also I would never want to sit in the nosebleeds or the endzone which is where the majority of those cheap tix are located.

No Im delighted I still have kick ass seats and will have since Ive had mine for 20 years. Youll be old and dumber before you ever get the good seats.

I had good/great seats (sect 104) and have been a ST holder for 4-5 years before giving them up. I got upgraded to those good eats after having them for 1 year or so. The way I see it... I have another 4-5 years before I'll need tickets again. That's when my boy will hit the 7-8 yo range. Until then, TO HELL with year 17 of the 5 year plan.

Sunday Ticket with game mix is sufficient enough for me. I also don't feel so drained when I get home @ 4 and have to take a nap basically missing the 2nd round of games.

Halfcan 10-07-2007 11:12 PM

I had them since 1990-I miss hanging with my buds-but games like this make me glad I don't have those 4 seats for the rest of the season.

IMO, football is a much better game on TV. On the other hand, baseball, college basketball and (especially) hockey are much better games to see at the hosting venue.

I've never been physically present for an NBA game — and I never hope to be — but I suspect that those games are better at the venue as well.

When Oakland loses KC will still be first place in the AFC West. I'm glad I still have mine.

i am pretty satisfied with my decision to give up season tickets this year. i can still go to 5 or 6 games and get way better seats, skip the preseason games, not get stuck with the late season games if the chiefs are out of the playoff picture, and spend way less money overall. it is pretty awesome.

Wonder how much longer that is going to last.. There will come a point where buying season tickets will just be too much cost.. That and the NFL is big enough now it should not have to worry about filling the seats at the start of the games..

Cause I know the donk seats were sure empty at the start of the second half..

Congratulations on completing the 12-step program.

I dunno -- with games being broadcast in HD, baseball games might be better to watch on TV, too. I agree with the rest.

I never had season tix. I was actually thinking of buying some last year but decided against it. I'm glad I didn't. I'm also glad that I didn't purchase any single game tix this year. First year in awhile that I won't be seeing any games in person. With the way this team is struggling on offense, I don't feel I'll be missing out on anything. :shake:

Nzoner 10-08-2007 08:18 AM

I gave mine up 2 season ago after 13 years,I have to admit I still miss it,especially the tailgating, but the only voice I really had as a fan was to just say no.

REDHOTGTO 10-08-2007 09:12 AM

what do i miss?
tailgating with my friends (although it was getting slimmer every year, i think we were down from 35 to 10 in our group)
20.00 parking
100.00 in gas to get there
6 hrs of driving every trip (up & back)
losing money(260.00) for pre season games ( you cant even GIVE them away anymore)

i will still watch the games but the difference? i can turn it off and go golf if they suck that day

Be careful not to get so high, that the fall hurts to much. I wish I could believe we will beat Oakland this year.

You were down a few rows and on the other side of the aisle from us.
