B.S roughing the passer penalty for touching St. Favre

I have absolutely zero respect for officials who have a double standard for protecting super star athletes. We had Green Bay stopped on a 3rd and 15 and I forget who it was on our defense but he got flagged for barely touching St. Favres throwing arm . That bullshit penalty kept their drive alive and led to a field goal. Meanwhile Huard got drilled late on one of our third and long plays and we get no call. I still think Favre would have found a way to beat us because he was just having one of those days but man that pissed me off.

Bob Dole 11-05-2007 04:38 PM

Pollard actually got a finger on St. Favre's helmet as he was pushed past by the block.

kstater 11-05-2007 04:38 PM

Don't blame the refs on that one. The rules are pretty straight foward regarding contact with the QB. The refs called the rule to a T. Blame the rules committee for not allowing the refs some discretion.

Demonpenz 11-05-2007 04:40 PM

i thought barnett's hit on huard was late as hell.

Fine but what about the late hit on Huard? If Favre had been hit like that the player that hit him would have been flagged and probably fined by the league. Bullshit double standard for Favre.

Micjones 11-05-2007 04:45 PM

I'd love if it we got a call like that one day.
Because that will mean we have a QB that good.

Bump 11-05-2007 04:46 PM

ya that was really weak to a lot of questionable late hits that are not called.

We did hit him late after the BS call. No call on both of the late hits

Megbert 11-05-2007 04:54 PM

Pollard hit Favre in the head. OK his hand grazed Favre's helmet which any blow to the head on a QB especially is against the rules. It was BS call that if happened to a 'lesser' QB woulda been a no call.

Exactly-if someone wants to bitch-please tell me how Brady and Manning have been sacked less than 5 times combined and their lines get away with mugging defenses to protect them??

Kitna has been sacked 33 times. I guess the Lions O line is over 6 times worse than Colts and Pats combined??

the Talking Can 11-05-2007 05:10 PM

run film on the Farve hit and the hit on Huard simultaneously....which one is more deserving of a penalty?

the answer would be obvious..

Neither, but if I had to choose, the one where the defender drove Huard into the ground would warrant a penalty...even though I think it was a clean hit.

The Favre helmet graze was ridiculous. 100% ridiculous.

Hootie 11-05-2007 06:01 PM

almost as ridiculous as the Tony G phantom hold that ended up in a key INT for the Packers and well, for that matter the Woodson pass interference on Parker because he didn't do anything either...

Both sides had tacky penalties but the two against the Chiefs that we pointed out in this thread were huge momentum killers/shifts.

You mean like when Parker jumped on Woodsons back and some how it was a PI on Woodson?

Either way if you touch a QB's head at all you're going to get a penalty for it.

Exactly. My point was, that there are bad calls in almost every game that go against every team.

Chiefs fans act as if its a personal vendetta the refs have against our team.

Because it IS, and if you can't see that, then you must turn in your fan card immediately...
