Raiders | Jordan could be released

Zouk and I discussed this last night. We both said we'd be surprised if Davis cut a guy who could help the Chiefs this season.
I'd love to have Jordan if his back could hold up. But I would expect Davis to hold on to him the rest of the season if at all possible. |

I would be ok with Jordan making a stop here. Might as well have a Vet in the RB corps that might be able to teach these kids a thing or two.
|
If Holmes is done and Johnson is done, they'll have to bring someone in.
It makes more sense to me that it be someone somewhat familiar with the offense, like Ross, but it would make sense if it were a reasonable contract. |
I think Jordan would be a good, at the correct price...we definitely need more depth at RB with Holmes going down, Bennett being gone, ect...
Then again, a lot of teams find good RB's in the middle to latter rounds, so that may be a viable option for depth? |

Pick up Ross and Jordan both in case LJ cant make it back this year. |

Uh Yeah, cause you know Lamont Jordan has been such a dominate force in the NFL for so long... OMFG! LMAO |

Yeah... you are right. A guy who has stuck in the league for 7 years has nothing of value to teach a rookie. WTF was I thinking?!?!?!?!? idiot |

physical checks out..... stop gap or F this season and run Smith into the ground and use up that draft pick. |
sweet is pippin coming too?
|
Only if it's for this season. I can't stand Jordan's running style... at all.

Before he re-injured his back, Jordan was #2 in the NFL - just 7 yards behind the league's leading rusher. He could do OK for you guys... even behind your stinker of an O-line. But his back won't hold up so you'd need to find him a backup for sure.... |
A healthy Jordan is a good RB to have. He would go nicely with LJ. Both are similar builds but Jordan has more slash to him and can catch the ball.

Raiders | Bush to remain on the PUP list
Wed, 21 Nov 2007 16:04:01 -0800 Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush (leg) was not activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, Nov. 21. Since Wednesday was the last day to activate him, Bush will remain on the list. Head coach Lane Kiffin said part of the reason Bush was not activated was because they would have had to release either RB LaMont Jordan or RB Dominic Rhodes, and they did not want one of their division rivals to sign the one they released. |
Change of plan..... Oakland did not activate Michael Bush. That would leave the Raiders with only Fargas & Rhodes, so Jordan probably won't be going anywhere.
|
he wouldn't be bad as a role player, but I don't think he wants to be that. And back problems are concerning because they don't usually go away.
|
From Rotoworld:
Raiders kept RB Michael Bush (leg surgery) on the Physically Unable to Perform list, ending his season. Bush can still practice with the scout team and attend meetings. This move was more a result of Oakland not wanting K.C. to get its mits on LaMont Jordan, as Jordan likely would've been the one to go had Bush been activated. Coach Lane Kiffin confirmed Bush was healthy enough to contribute if needed and expects him to compete to start next season. Source: Oakland Tribune |
Probably the smartest move the raiders did all season.
