I'm changing my mind about the Hermster. The article about starting both rookies at corner got my attention. Honestly, it takes some serious cajone things to accept the losses that are inevitable with two rookies at corner in favor of getting these guys field experience. Granted, it may just be another ploy to save his job after the season by creating a built-in excuse for a lousy record but, if not, it's admirable and something we haven't seen in .... well, ever.

I like Herm. I feel confident that before he leaves he'll lead Chiefs fans to a whole new level of excruciating pain and disappointment. I think he'll build a good enough team to accomplish this.

Boon 08-16-2008 12:49 AM

The nice thing about Herm is we will get lots of high draft picks.
The bad news is Carl and Co. will be drafting.

Mr. Flopnuts 08-16-2008 12:51 AM

Is that first one too big for my sig?

ChiefsCountry 08-16-2008 12:53 AM

I like Herm, he has the right idea on how to build a team and win - its his freaking game day ball up stragety that pisses me off. If he grew a pair during the games, he could be one of the best coaches in the NFL.

I can't disagree with that at all. I'm extremely hopeful he's going to focus on defense and let Chan do his thing on O. I was pretty gay when we hired Gailey.

Cool. You the man, I tried using the first one and it wouldn't save it. I'm assuming it was because it was too bouku.

Hammock Parties 08-16-2008 12:59 AM

You have to hit the "save signature" button, dude. That's small enough.

I tried to upload it, then I tried to just save signature. Both times it said, "unable to save image".

That doesn't belong. REMOVE IT!!!

You don't upload it...just use imageshack and link it with the tags.

I agree. The Fire Herm website is ridiculous. I'm sick of Chiefs fans bitching about Herm.

 I'm with you. I think he came in here and was put in a position where he had to at least try to win now with Vermeil's leftovers. Now that everyone has signed off on rebuilding I think he's a good choice, he just needs good coaches to help manage game day. Hopefully in Gailey he has just that. Unfortunately we need a lot more pieces before this team can be a contender.

Herm should have began the rebuilding process as soon as he got here, but he took the strategy of trying to win while tweaking the system. That playoff game was pointless. I'd rather have not made the playoffs, it was embarrassing. The people that want to fire Herm don't realize that the next coach will bring in his own guys, and the process starts all over again ... Herm is on the right track finally ...

I don't care for Herman ****ing Edwards as a game day HC, and I sure as hell won't shed any tears when he is done in KC, but I don't believe he was given any choice in the matter.

DomerNKC 08-16-2008 10:27 AM

his rebuilding will take forever. He is a good player personnel guy, just can not coach the players he gets. He will build a good roster of players, but we will need to bring in a coach to win with them.

Bearcat 08-16-2008 10:34 AM

There's some good stuff in the blog. Well, obvious stuff, like "the NFL has evolved, but Herm hasn't" and "you have to play to dominate, not play-it-close".

I'll be the first to eat crow if Gailey's offense works without Herm running onto the field to kick Croyle's ass the first time he throws the ball downfield in the 4th quarter on 3rd and long inside our 40.

I'd like to see how good he is at finding another job when he leaves here. I'll bet he lands as a DB coach somewhere if that. He's a great example of the Peter Principle.

Well to be fair, if we had Roaf that offense would have one more go around.

Really should have let Croyle start last season from the beginning but we all know who's fingers were dipped into that decision. (cough Carl cough)

He'd go coach with Lovie. would say Dungy but I bet he retires after this season or next
