Asking for a little prayer for a fellow Chiefs fan in trouble.
Thou I'm not a real relegious person, I believe in god, but just not the whole church thing. I'm asking for everyone to keep my nephew in there prayers.
Saturday morning he was found in bed, very lethargic and had a siezure. After being flown to NKC hospital in a coma, he was found to have opiates in his system. At this point they don't know for sure what drug is responsiable, thou Extacsy or a stong anti-depresent in the Trycyclitae (sp) family are suspected. He does respond by squeezing your hand now, but is still pretty much unconscious most of the time. He remains in ICU on a ventalator in critical condition. Not sure what happened, as he is a very good kid and has always had a strong anti-drug stance. and was preparing to leave for the Marine corp soon, weather he was slipped it or took it on his own, only time will tell. But please keep him in your prayers, for those of you who believe in the power of prayer, and those who don't, give it a try for his sake. UPDATE: 1/24/01 GREAT News everyone, He has come around, and is awake and alert now. THou he has now memory of the preceeding week he does seem to be OK otherwise. Thou they are still waiting for more tests to return. Hopefully there will be know permanent damage. At this time it looks as if he was slipped the drug by someone else, but the PD is still looking into it. I'm very convinced there was someone else at work here. I posted this sunday night and by monday noon he was waking up and talking finally. Thank you for all your reponses and concern it is greatly appreciated. Will keep you posted as time permits JOhn |
i will be in prayer for your nephew and i am sure others on here will be also. May God bless you and your family .

Not only do I believe in the power of prayer but I have been the benefactor also. I'm one of those stories people hear about but for some reason refuse to believe.
I suffered from arthritis for several years and it had gotten so bad that I had used either a cane or crutches to get around. The doctors told me to take disability and quit my job - it would never get better. One evening at a revivial at our church I felt lead to go forward when the pastor called for people to come forward for healing prayer. I had been prayed for many times before with no results. I don't know why but for some reason this time seemed different. I went home and put my crutches in the closet. That has been 6 years ago now and I am working at the same job and mowing my yard (the docs told me I wouldn't be able to do that either) with a push mower since. My crutches remain in the closet and I don't even know where my cane is anymore. I don't know why some are healed and others remain the same. I am only human do not question His sovernity. I do know, however, that prayer DOES work and I will pray for your nephew. |

Pardon me (I'm not a thumper), but I have seen a miracle in the last couple of years. It came wrapped in a family tragedy. The miracle is all of the good people who are there for you and the family and how this situation touches all of us and how it changes us. Hang tough, let your faith shine brightly.....
