Today Proves the Chargers are WAY Ahead of the Chiefs

I don't know this is really news to anyone, but the Chargers performance today against Indy (win or lose) shows they are clearly light years ahead of the Chiefs.

LT, Rivers out the second half, Gates not even close to his normal self, the penalty flags all going Indy's way and they are still giving the Indy everything they can handle. Maybe more than they can handle.

As a Chiefs fan this is very troubling. The Chiefs managment clearly focused on the bottom line and we need some bold moves. Not a good combination for a quick turn around.

Sure-Oz 01-13-2008 03:09 PM

i think them winning the division and having more than 4 wins proved that

Chiefspants 01-13-2008 03:10 PM

Wow, I thought the chiefs were up to there level at this point, boy I was wrong

DaFace 01-13-2008 03:11 PM

Thanks, Captain Obvious. ;)

Spott 01-13-2008 03:13 PM

Yeah, that and winning 3 times as many games in a season kind of proves that.

Shox 01-13-2008 03:13 PM

The Chargers have looked like crap at time this year. No reason to think of them as light years ahead of KC.

I think this performance suggest otherwise.

milkman 01-13-2008 03:14 PM

In other breaking news, Skip Towne is old.

Sure-Oz 01-13-2008 03:15 PM

nice job of getting hurt pussy, you cost your team a TO

chop 01-13-2008 03:15 PM

I think the Charges are ahead of the Chiefs but the Chiefs even played the Colts tough. That was the game Herm tried not to lose vs. playing to win.

the Talking Can 01-13-2008 03:25 PM

The Berlin Wall fell.

I just found that out.

stonedstooge 01-13-2008 03:37 PM

Chargers

Don't forget we have our secret 5 year plan that is being enacted by the two genius boys Herm and Carl.

Mecca 01-13-2008 03:42 PM

I remember people here saying their GM should be fired...uh yea.

It does? Thanks for the heads up!

ChiTown 01-13-2008 03:46 PM

So, the Chargers are light years ahead of the Chiefs? I've got 4 2007 Chiefs wins that say your wrong, Mister!

Not because of personnel, he hired Norv Turner. SD won today because of talent.

Dude. You needed today?

kcxiv 01-13-2008 04:05 PM

Yep, they proved that a long time ago. Sitting last in the division pretty much states everyone else is better.

FloridaMan88 01-13-2008 04:07 PM

The entire freaking league is WAY ahead of the Chiefs at this point.

Even the hapless Falcons have a ray of light now with the hiring of the Patriots Director of College Scouting as their new GM.

JohninGpt 01-13-2008 04:08 PM

Whaaaaaaaateverrrrr. :whackit:

el borracho 01-13-2008 04:18 PM

By this time next year even the Raidurrs will be ahead of the Chiefs.

blueballs 01-13-2008 04:56 PM

How many years of top 5 draft pick suck
did it take
the Raiders are there now

BigChiefFan 01-13-2008 05:07 PM

The Chargers have also been to the SuperBowl with Stan Humphries during Carl's tenure. It's pretty obvious, that the Chiefs management is not very football savvy and it shows.

mlyonsd 01-13-2008 05:10 PM

I could probably name 20 college teams that are ahead of the Chiefs.

kcfanXIII 01-13-2008 05:22 PM

no chit???

just to reiterate your point; to say that the chiefs are better than the chargers, would be false.

keg in kc 01-13-2008 06:29 PM

If you know your history, you'll see that the Chiefs today are where the Chargers were circa 2003.

At least I hope it's 2003, because I sure as hell don't want to sit through the Chargers 1998 - 2002. I mean, only winning a maximum of 5 games for 5 out of 7 years would get us a lot of high draft picks, but I can't imagine it's much fun to endure.

In 2001, we started the season 5-2 and ended 5-11. The next year we were 8-8. Maybe thats where you guys are right now.

keg in kc 01-13-2008 06:35 PM

That's possible.

That's also the tendency in the league, sort of a yo-yo, with teams being up one year and down the next, with a couple notable exceptions.

Yeah. However, I think its a good thing that CP got some national heat this year. He HAS to be gone before you can do anything.

keg in kc 01-13-2008 06:38 PM

Another odd correlation:

Marty joined SD in 2002. They went 8-8. His second season 4-12. (Third season 12-4, division champion),

Herm in KC season 1, 9-7, season 2, 4-12.

Sometimes even a blind squirrel can find a nut.

Either way, I'm of the mind that the only way the Chiefs pull out of this in '08 or '09 is if many of the players taken in the '06 and '07 drafts are productive. If they're not, and if it is a requisite that Peterson has to be gone before recovery starts, then the Chiefs are likely looking at 2010 or 2011 before they're competitive again.

'08 will be the telling year for the remaining '06 guys, Hali, Pollard, Croyle, Stallings, Webb and Page.

Yeah but we were the best 4-12 team there ever was.

That's the martyocre effect. When he went, so did those lovely annual labels like "best team not in the playoffs" and "best team knocked out in the first round".

I mean, hell, NORV frikkin' TURNER has won 2 playoff games with those guys now...

Hydrae 01-13-2008 06:57 PM

But.....but......we beat them in SD this year.
