For THOSE that DID NOT renew your season tickets

So my buddy and I decided NOT to renew our season tickets this season and YES that was an bitter-sweet decision to make.

So It gets down to the last day to send in the first payment which was the 15th and I get an email from KCChiefs.com on the 14th telling me the day is near and please send $.

I email them back and tell them: "Please sell my ticket to someone that cares as I am done wasting my time and money."

Last Monday the 18th I get an email back telling me they recieved my email and that they have noted my response in my account.

OK Whatever...........

Then Friday last week I get a PHONE call from someone inside ticket sales:

Q: I was wondering what prompted your decision to drop your season ticket after 18 years?

A: "Carl Peterson"

Q: We are trying to rectify the current situation by putting a competitive team on the field next year is they anyway we can convince you to stay with us and renew your season tickets?

A: "Yea ........ FIRE CARL PETERSON" !

Q: Well sir I can certaily sense your frustrations and I hope if you change your mind in the future you will call us back and resume your trek with the KC Chiefs.

A: "I refuse to drink anymore of the Carl Peterson KoolAid so if that is all you have to keep me satisfied then don't bother calling me back". Click.

I can only hope these things are recored for quality assurance purposes.

Eleazar 02-25-2008 10:50 PM

A: "Yea ........ FIRE CARL PETERSON" !

Q: Well sir I can certaily sense your frustrations as Carl hasn't done anything in 2 decades and I hope if you change your mind in the future you will call us back and resume your trek with the KC Chiefs by dipping far deep into your pockets as Chiefs season tickets will more than double in the next 10 years.

FYP

 to that last comment.

1. Chiefs sure as **** don't record shit from the fans or more than anything....
2. They simply don't give a **** and with Carl around, I'm going with option 2.

smittysbar 02-25-2008 11:25 PM

big nasty kcnut 02-25-2008 11:30 PM

Mean but sweet move since i hate carl with every fiber of my being. Hope clark get the message.

REDHOTGTO 02-26-2008 09:37 AM

at least you got a phone call, all i got was an email stating "while we understand some peoples frustration we are trying to put together a championship team and hopefully you will return" after 13 years basically "goodbye"
sucks

Rain Man 02-26-2008 09:45 AM

Nice work.

The really sad thing about the 4-12 season is that Chiefs management can rationalize and say, "They're canceling because we went 4-12," when that's not the reason at all.

StcChief 02-26-2008 09:51 AM

Perfect, maybe a real Poll requested by Clark will be put together after all the non-renewals are done.

Good job

Also, for some reason, I find it quite funny that they called it a "trek".

Awesome!

Mile High Mania 02-26-2008 10:08 AM

I'd be curious to find this out... what if you were to call them back now and request the same seats. Are they available? What would be the cost they charge you (after 18 years) for those same seats or a slight improvement?

Just curious... I just wonder how fast they were snapped up by someone else.

Luzap is snapping them up like crazy. Before opening kickoff, I wager that he'll control half the upper deck.

This will be the impetus for a startling 8-8 season next year. The Chiefs have heard your voices and they have listened!!!

Sandyskc 02-26-2008 10:14 AM

Everyone that has not made the first payment should be getting a call from a Red Coater. The accounts have not been cancelled yet, and it is possible to get the same seats.
The first calling will start this afternoon. I understand your frustration with the team and please be truthful with the person that calls. ALL of your responses will be passed on.

I tossed my first invoice then got an "overdue" notice last week which I tossed.

I wonder if I'll get a call.

Damn funny stuff though Kerberos.

Iowanian 02-26-2008 11:21 AM

I think the Chiefs should attemp to acquire unbiased information about the specific reasons fans are upset, why they are cancelling and what it would take to get them back.

I think they should consider an unbiased out of town market research company.

I've heard pretty good things about one out of colorado named after a mexican beer...I think its either dos aquis or corona research.

But in order to get motivated to do that, they first have to actually care, and that's the problem. Good thought though.

it will take alot of empty seats, more Fire Herm/Carl signs in stands, bag over the head....to get their attention. The boos help too.

Does that make you a Red Vester? A red pullover? A red Parka?

Tell the Chiefs they could help Customer relations by toning down the parking nazis.

1ChiefsDan 02-26-2008 12:30 PM

The wife and I just purchased season tickets for the first time this year. I already have friends and relatives wanting to buy any tickets that we don't use since we will only make it back to KC for a couple of games.

To each their own I guess.

What do you mean $25 isn't reasonable to rent a parking space for 3 hours, at a place where you spend thousands a year for an inferior product?

Sandyskc 02-26-2008 12:31 PM

I wish. I'm just a fan wanting to earn my Red Coat (not an easy task).
I've had problems in the parking lot, too. I'll be sure to pass that along.

You know I was walking through JCHS to a network problem and I couldn't really get everything I wanted to say out in the middle of a High School.

I tell you what though that poor guy on the other end was almost speacheless for 5 seconds or better when I told him "Fire Carl Peterson". Which is kind of strange because I'm sure I'm not the ONLY disgruntled fan to make that statement?

Valiant 02-26-2008 03:12 PM

You need to tell them we want the corporate office dismantled and Carl Peterson and all of his cronies gone.. How many years does it take to figure out he is a failure at building a winning playoff team???

You can also pass this along to Clark Hunt, if he wants to make money get into another business.. Owning a sports team is about winning championships and bragging rights, not about ****ing your fans over..

You'd think they'd have a previously-scripted answer just for that type of situation.

Maybe it was his first call.

Sandyskc 02-26-2008 05:14 PM

I heard "Fire Carl" twice today. I did pass it along. Right now they have hired a lady to be incharge of season ticket holders. She is gathering up all the information but I don't have a clue what, if anything, will happen.

Nope. I have the best seat in the house in front of my new HDTV. There is no way I am lining Carl's pockets with season ticket money.

Kraus 02-26-2008 05:45 PM

My dad and I just dumped our season tickets that we've had the last 10+ years.

007 02-26-2008 06:21 PM

I respect the fans that feel the need to keep their tickets because of the time they have put into getting where they are, but I do love seeing the fans that invested as much time and are dropping tickets as well. Nothing against the fans that stay, but the ones that leave are making a necessary statement to the organization. Even if it isn't really listening.

Valiant 02-26-2008 06:22 PM

And why does the NFL still do blackouts.. Seems to me they make more money off of televising the games now as opposed to people going..

Rather than taking a 2,000 cock up the ass, I sold my seats on eBay for 1875 late last week.

I'm pretty sure Topeka gets blacked out if KC gets blacked out, based on the fact that Topeka got the Friday night Miami game a couple years back.

Halfcan 02-26-2008 11:05 PM

15 years of season tickets were enough for me.

Chief Wiggum 02-26-2008 11:19 PM

I've been interested in getting season tickets for a couple of years now and have been in touch with the ticketing office on-and-off over that time (Even though I live in CA). Needless to say, a few of their AEs have my contact information now and call me about once a week. I told them that I refused to invest in the tickets until Carl was gone because I am convinced he is will produce nothing more than a c*ck tease of a team while he is there.

I've had a couple of the AEs tell me that they have had an overwhelming response similar to mine and they then they go on to focus on what Herm is doing for the team (For me, the jury is still out on Herm) and how we have 10 draft picks (Really?) and that the new stadium is going to be just super!

On the one hand, I'm encouraged because I think the club is getting the message. On the other hand, it pisses me off to think that the Chiefs are letting so many of their die-hard fans go while giving CP a golden parachute...

Eight years. I'll be giving mine up, officially I guess, on March 5....the "late" deadline for the "first payment. I'll still attend a couple of games....maybe; but the financial and emotional investment, was not a postive cost-benefit analysis in my mind...considering where ticket prices have gone, and are headed.

Season Tickets

And who do you think is in charge of the information that comes from the fans who are not re-newing their season tickets? Well I'm sure it's in the hands of the President of the Chiefs organization. You think King Carl will let it be known what the fanbase is saying? I'm sure he will have those that complain about him covered up so Clark is unable to find out the truth. He's smart enough to come up with some excuse aside from his own worthless ass.

It will be interesting to see who he throws under the bus or what excuse he articulates to the media should he be questioned. Of course he always has Sausage Fingered Gretz and Dawes to run interference. Just wait and see what comes out in their next writings. Something he can't sweep under the rug, but I'll bet anything that his cronies come up with some falsehoods to limit the damage.

I've got a different relationship to the organization than you all do, but I'll say that this last season was extremely liberating. While there are a lot of wonderful things that came with our trips to KC, it was also a TON of pressure, stress, and expense. It was nice to have our weekends back. Not to mention, I just didn't care as much as I have in the past, when my entire week would basically be focused on football.

Anything that keeps you from having to watch the Chiefs play is probably a good thing as well.

That is sad to say.:shake:

i haven't had a season ticket since 2003, but I formerly still went to about half the games.

I don't think I'm going again until Carl is gone. It's just fruitless to invest yourself in a team that's got no interest in contending for a championship or a clue how to do it, and regards their fan base with utter contempt. It's 8 hours or so and at least a hundred dollars every Sunday to attend just per person, including tailgate. Time and money I could use on something productive. I don't even really get into the games on TV as much as I used to.

Just not worth getting invested in this two-bit organization anymore.

I've had problems in the parking lot, too. I'll be sure to pass that along.

I'm just catching up here, but as long as you are relaying information, please relay that Chad, the Manager at Gate 6(as I've been told) has been quite difficult in the past. If you want details, please PM me. :)

BTW, good luck in earning your Red Coat. :thumb:

Throw in a 500 mile drive each way for me, and I feel that much stronger about it. Whack Carl and we'll talk; but until then, no more tickets or merchandise. I'm voting with my wallet.

I'll be down for the MU/KU game, but I won't bother going back to Arrowhead the next day.

Yeah, I live 15 mintues or less from the stadium, I can't imagine how you people who drive in from out of town keep justifying it.

Yep. Very tough decision. I used to give CP the benefit of the doubt. Not anymore. I did get a call at work yesterday from a red coater. I was off on vacation so he just left a message. I will most likely call him back this afternoon. I hope he is ready. :cuss:

What you all should do is get together everybody that has owned season tickets, say the last 3-4 years who have given up on them and take your pictures in your seats or with your tickets.. (The key is to get a picture of each individual who owned the seats or the families in them)..

Then say these 1000+ people, no longer are season ticket holders because of the Chiefs and CP ability to field a winning team.. You have allowed mediocrity for decades just to keep making a buck..

Your loyal fans who have had tickets ranging from 3-15+ years are not renewing because of your loyalty to CP and his ineptness in keeping good players, continually hiring old guys to stay around 8-8 and pissing off our other talent with his negotiating techniques(tait, Allen, Smith)..

Then mail the packet to Clark Hunt, KC Star, Espn and some other reputable organization that will publish it to sham CP and the Chiefs..

If that does not work, then they simple do not care.. But at least you tried and its out there..

Arrowhead in 2008 is going to look like the Tennessee game did in 2007 - Half Empty.
