Movies you're embarrassed to like

Your guilty pleasures... the movies you don't want people to know you like.

Dick Tracy - but I'm proud of that, and not very guilty about it
Battlefield Earth isn't THAT bad
Anything by Ed Wood
10 Things I Hate About You
Just One of the Guys
Opportunity Knocks

Sully 03-19-2008 09:56 AM

Why would you be emnarrassed to like "Just One of the Guys?"
Great rack!!!

Seriously, one of my holiday favorites is "Love Actually."

Because I'm a filmmaker and a movie buff... and it's not very good. But I like it.

no she didn't, it was probably just one of the earliest movies that you saw a "rack" so it's had you excited ever since!!!!

There has to be one, but I'll be damned if I can think of it right now.

Dartgod 03-19-2008 10:03 AM

Believe me, it's not so much the plot of the movie as it is the way the collision and subsequent sinking is depicted. It just fascinates me for some reason.

That's a good movie. Hard to watch, though, because it's slit-your-wrist depressing.

And I bet it has nothing to do with Kate Winslets nobbies.

You also read playboy for the articles, I'm sure.

Probably the darkest shit I've ever seen. You would have to be sick to enjoy it, that why it embarasses me. I don't even know if I enjoy it but I'm definately captivated by it.

Any number of stupid romantic comedies.

Amnorix 03-19-2008 10:12 AM

I actually tend to like romantic comedies as a rule, and I also go in for musicals. So there's a pretty long list of unmanly movies there.

MVChiefFan 03-19-2008 10:13 AM

I watch "The Ringer" and "Benchwarmers" everytime I run across them on a movie channel. Stupid, I know, but I can't help it.

I gotta say though, that whole deathbed, alone in a cave, out saving the town in just a couple of days almost killed it for me.

The Replacements.

MTG#10 03-19-2008 10:25 AM

Some of the ones mentioned are really good movies, I dont know why anyone would be embarrassed to like them. Grandma's Boy, Meet the Parents and Requiem for a Dream are all good movies.

As for me, Titanic, Freddie Got Fingered, Howard the Duck, Mars Attacks...thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

And it goes very well with Planet Terror for a Vampire/Zombie double feature.

Nzoner 03-19-2008 10:57 AM

Seriously,I don't get it,why would anyone be embarrassed to admit they like a certain movie or song,I mean it's not like you're coming out of the closet and admitting you enjoy meatpeeking or worse.

DTLB58 03-19-2008 11:30 AM

Kramer vs Kramer....Embarassing part, probably becaue it's not very manly and there is crying in it blah, blah, blah.

But from the stand point that the dad did nothing wrong, his wife walked out on him, left him the kid. He manned up and took care of his son responsibly.

I had just as much to do with how our kids were brought up as my wife (I know I changed more diapers than she did). I hate it when men are sterotyped as not good parents just because we are men. When we do something we are suppose to as a parent we hear well that's his job, when something happens and we can't be somewhere with them it's they aren't spending time with the kids. No win situation.

I know some women right now that has 4 kids under 10 by 3 different men and is basically refusing to take care of them just because she can't handle them all. The kids have been in and out of foster care just because their mother is a lazy whore.

The movie depicts Dustin Hoffman as what most of us are, good dads that really love our children and when their mother walks out on life we would stand up and take care of them.

The judge awarded her custody but then she gave it back to him. His testimony in court got to her.

Her reason for leaving was that he was not a good husband because he spent to much time at work and not with her.

The line that got to her was "Just because your not a good husband, doesn't mean your not a good father"
