Wiegman is a Donkey

Broncos | Team agrees to terms with Wiegmann
Thu, 20 Mar 2008 11:39:56 -0700

Adam Caplan, of Scout.com, reports the Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with free-agent C Casey Wiegmann (Chiefs) on a two-year deal Thursday, March 20. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

JBucc 03-20-2008 12:46 PM

Who?

Frazod 03-20-2008 12:46 PM

I hope he dies in a fire. 4321

vailpass 03-20-2008 12:48 PM

He's coming in to back up the center and guard positions. Good cheap signing for Denver.

Mecca 03-20-2008 12:49 PM

Well this is a guy who basically said he was upset the Chiefs weren't a "family" anymore then talked about how it was wrong to cut guys like Eric Hicks...boy that's who I want on my team.

kczoo 03-20-2008 12:49 PM

yep, I always liked him. Not his fault he got cut. Now we can plow over him too

Sour Grapes. Im sure alot of vets say similiar things when they get cut.

I wish him well, just not when he plays us.

TrebMaxx 03-20-2008 12:59 PM

This is actually good news. His shelf life is about expired anyways and he will be on a team we get to play twice every season. Should help our defense.

HemiEd 03-20-2008 01:00 PM

So after all these years, Casey Wiegmann is going to learn how to cheat?

BigChiefFan 03-20-2008 01:10 PM

Casey was a very good player for us during Vermeil's tenure, but Herm misued his talent, so it's best that we moved on. CW will be a good fit in Denver where his pulling will be better utilized. I'm sure they got him on the cheap until they can find a long-term replacement. I have to give CW some credit, he was a workhorse who did everything asked of him and then some. I wish him well, but I believe his best days of football are drawing to an end.

keg in kc 03-20-2008 01:10 PM

He's dead to me.

KCrockaholic 03-20-2008 01:11 PM

well it does make sense. Hes a small lightweight O-lineman, which is exactly what denver looks for. we shouldnt be surprised by this. But he was on the decline anyway, we need someone younger in the draft to replace Casey.

If he ever sees a snap at guard, you'll soon regret saying "good" in the same sentence as Casey Wiegmann.

Yeah it had nothing to do with the fact that he couldn't block for shit anymore....and he's old.

eazyb81 03-20-2008 01:19 PM

what soulless douchebag. I hope he had his life savings in Bear Stearns.

StcChief 03-20-2008 01:19 PM

Good luck CW just not twice a year against Chiefs

stevieray 03-20-2008 01:19 PM

this sucks...he'll do well in their system.

Sully 03-20-2008 01:22 PM

Great fit in their system... 5 years ago.
Serviceable backup for now is about the best I'd say about him. But he is a perfect fit for the zone scheme.

That's how I feel about it. Good backup, they should be able to get a couple years out of him.

LMAO Every time a former washed up Chief signs with a division rival, I look forward to the comments.

Frazod 03-20-2008 02:04 PM

Sorry, but if a Chief signs with Denver, he's dead to me.

I'm with you. Raiders, Broncos, Chargers. Dead. I was only saying I didn't want him to die in the fire for the next 2 years so we can own his ass. Then I hope he watches his kids burn first. ROFL

KC has a front four that owns other teams? Why haven't they been playing them?:)

DON'T BE A SMARTASS!!!!!! I'm talking about AFTER we draft Glenn Dorsey of course. :D

el borracho 03-20-2008 02:10 PM

Jeez, you guys are harsh. I don't actually wish him ill, I just wish we had cut him two years ago.

If you guys get Glen Dorsey you will have the potential for one of the baddest D lines in the NFL.
Of all the years to have a high draft choice KC is in as prime a spot as any.

What sucks for this Chiefs fan is it's Dorsey or bust for me. I'll be downright unhappy with any other pick but that guy. There's a damn good chance he won't be around when we do pick.

Not a fan of Long or Clady? Wouldn't surprise me to see both Longs, Vernon Gholston, and Matt Ryan go in the first four leaving you guys a shot at Dorsey.
I've also seen Mocks where KC takes OL Otah which wouldn't seem to be a bad thing for you guys either.

el borracho 03-20-2008 02:26 PM

Dorsey or Ellis are my top two. Lucky for me, we should have a shot at one of them; unlucky for me, Tweedledee and Tweedledum will probably select a safety from a division III school.

ROFL I knew Fraz was hopelessly deranged towards the blue and orange but I didn't know he had Flop in his kill squad.

I'd still like to see Glenn Dorsey absolutely terminate this sorry one who sucks the penis.

Jake Long won't break my heart. Either will Ellis, but Dorsey is the best prospect in this draft IMO. I wouldn't be irate with Jake Long or Ellis, anyone else, and I'll be unconsolable.

That means you consider Donnie Edwards a POS.

Looks like we can count on Tank Tyler having at least TWO good games this season.

Two years sounds just about perfect. Welcome, Mr. Wiegmann.

He will fit in well with their illegal dive at the knees chickenshit blocking scheme.

It means you GOTTA go & were your best friends...so, were gonna have to do it, ya see???...so march on out there about 200 yards, & dont try any funny business, ya see???

Dont make it hard on yourselves Casey, everybodys gotta die...your time is now, every RAT dies...be a MAN about it.

*Casey turns to face them, headshot, fade to black...*

Demonpenz 03-20-2008 05:07 PM

My preduction is he will play at average level which is a step above his talent right now. Because of their system he does well cutting second level and back side guys

Halfcan 03-20-2008 05:13 PM

Casey is a very cool and down to earth dude. He played well above his talent level and played with a lot of heart.

Lets stay Classy. He had some good years here.

Rain Man 03-20-2008 05:22 PM

This is a tragedy. This is worse than Britney Spears' fall from tongue-panting beauty to bald chubby. I bet the poor guy is a suicide risk.

The only good part of this is that it means that Nalen's knee-diving career is over.

All the more reason why Dorsey or Ellis should be our first pick. Weigman couldn't slow down either one of them.:thumb:

He did well for us for a while. He was overlooked a lot due to the rest of the line but his abilities did a lot for Priest. He doesn't fit what Herm wants to do though, that is why he looked so bad this last year. I thank him for his time here and wish him well, starting right after her retires from Mile High hell!

Wiegmann was the third worst player on our offense last year, behind the turnstile at RT and Roidbourn. Good riddance, you soddy c*nt.

Chief Faithful 03-21-2008 09:29 AM

If the Donks keep looking they might also find a tackle or two in that same garbage dump.

Good luck Wiegmann... You were great when we had a real NFL offense...
