Schefter saying Dorsey falling...

Path to the Draft- Rams officials have supposedly shifted their likes of Long and keeping Carriker inside. Atlanta has been convinced Dorsey would be gone and a little worried about his stress fracture needing attention later. During the last 2 weeks they have gotten used to the thought of having Ryan be the face of the franchise and now like it so much they dont want to switch even if Dorsey gets past STL. OAK wants RB to go with Russell. That leaves him for us, but several teams will want to trade with us or leapfrog us to get him now that he is within reach.

BTW Casserly and Lombardi combined for a Mock and gave us Gholston/ Cherilus in the first.

I hated that Cherilus pick at 17. He's not even close to the 17th best player in this draft.

I could not be happier if Long and Ryan were the next two picks. It would all but guarantee we get one of the two best players in the draft (Gholston or Dorsey).

If the draft falls this way and we're looking at Dorsey or Gholston I'll have wood so hard it'll probably break the skin.

They had the other 4 OT's gone by our pick. Clady to Baltimore, Williams to the Donks, and Otah to Chicago.

Ouch...get yourself some ice water and try to avoid that...you might regret doing nothing later.

I thought this was interesting, and I posted it in some thread on the main page.

But the more I think about it, this seems like a desperate attempt by Atlanta to get someone, probably KC, to trade up in order to get Ryan. It's a decent strategy by Atlanta because KC can either trade up with St. Louis or Atlanta and it will all but assure the Falcons of landing Dorsey.

I don't think it will work, since it's hard to believe that Ryan is now suddenly at the top of their board when we've been hearing they were all over Dorsey for weeks. But it can't hurt at this point, and who knows, we may be so enamored with Ryan that we won't risk staying put at 5.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-25-2008 09:06 PM

Maybe Ryan has always been at the top and the Dorsey talk is all bullshit.

Could be. Schefter also said that Ryan was at the top of more team draft boards than most people realized.

If it falls that way, take Dorsey and run like somebody's chasing you.

I dont like the idea of Al davis having the ability to screw us by trading with someone who wants a player we covet.

If Dorsey and Gholston are there at 4 he can't screw us--we get one of the top 2 guys either way. :D

I feel more and more that Gholston will be the pick, but Dorsey is a better player by far. He's the guy people would be willing to trade with Al to get. We'll almost surely have Gholston available because he's not on the same level as Dorsey.

So you don't take an OT instead of reaching then?

Don't worry, God isn't on the same level as Gholston either. He lacks Gholston's burst.

Has Al ever traded down in the 1st? I just don't see him as the type of guy that will have nads to trade down when his team may finally be on the cusp of competing AND a gamebreaker like DMC is staring him right in the face.

I heard exactly the opposite. They want Carriker to start at LE and bring in Little on passing downs.

I feel like I'm in the middle of a tornado with the rumors and info flying this year. Crazy year.

It would be unbelievably awesome if KC could get Dorsey. I have a bad feeling though if he's still around at the 4th pick Oakland will spoil it by trading out and letting another team grab him right before he falls to the Chiefs.
