IF this happens I'd smash my TV if KC doesn't select Oher

Direckshun 04-28-2008 09:16 AM

If Albert pans out there's little reason to take Oher or any OT.

I'd prefer us to go MLB in a Draft that's going to have two elite guys.

Or DE, but it'll take a season to figure out who the elite guys are.

There will be three elite MLBs.

move him to OG, and KC will have the makings of a badass O-Line with Oher

geez i was under the impression that crabtree was not an elite prospect. Guess i just figured that because he's from Tech

Oh man, the list of all pro interior lineman that were not taken with 1st rounders far outnumbers the number of ajfal;kdjfal;sdjkf

Forget it, I'm not going to get into this conversation again. I'm saving it for next offseason.

If a talent like Oher is available you slide the Albert back to OG, and have fielding the best players on the O-Line. It's all about quality.

the Talking Can 04-28-2008 09:37 AM

lots of DE and MLB....perfect...

DT Fan 04-28-2008 09:37 AM

C'mon. 10 offensive linemen in the first round a year after everyone was shocked that 8 were taken? I suppose it's possible, but if 18 offensive linemen are taken in the first round over a two year period, we'll have officially entered a new era in the NFL.

Sully 04-28-2008 09:40 AM

What?
No trades up or down?

That's what's intriguing.

We could have the 12th pick and still land an elite MLB.

Andre Smith is a better OT than Oher, believe it or not. If we wind up with either Smith (preferably) or Oher, our O-line would dominate for years to come.

CupidStunt 04-28-2008 10:50 AM

Surprised no one has pointed out the reason Albert didn't play LT at Virginia.

Unlike Albert, Monroe isn't as versatile. Al Groh had that situation figured out well.

Coogs 04-28-2008 11:36 AM

Not one single QB cracked into the top 32.

Come on Croyle! :toast:

The Franchise 04-28-2008 11:45 AM

I'll take either Laurinaitis or Maualuga.

DJ/Maualuga/D.Williams

Yeah, the Oher hype on here has gone a bit out of control. He's a great talent but so are a lot of other players on this list. It's not like he's guaranteed to be the next Anthony Munoz.

Not to worry, Chad Pennington should be freed up by then.

Most people only know about Laurinaitis or Maualuga right now, but come December next year Brandon Spikes (#12 in this mock) will be right up there with them.

El Jefe 04-28-2008 12:35 PM

Man I would love James Laurinitis at MLB depending on how our line looks, maybe Albert will be out LTOF. I would also love Malcolm Jenkins, he will be the best CB in the draft by far, he was the highest rated this year but stayed in school. On a sidenote the QB class is looking strong next year LMAO.

Mecca 04-28-2008 02:28 PM

Personal view but I think Andre Smith is slightly better than Oher.....Smith reminds me of Pace, I think that guy is THAT good, either way I think they're both better prospects than any OT in forever.

*rubs hands together*

This is the Draft that you can trade down. They've got elite players about 10-12 deep.

ChiefsCountry 04-28-2008 03:17 PM

Rey Maualuga behind Dorsey would be sick.

Sam Hall 04-28-2008 08:06 PM

I disagree with the top pick. I don't think WR is the Falcons' biggest need. Roddie White is underrated. I recall they had major offensive line issues this past season. I don't think WR is ever the wisest No. 1 overall pick. Most teams, the Chiefs not included for some reason, can find good, young receivers.

I've been on the Maualuga bandwagon for the Chiefs. He looks like a badass.

Sam Hall 04-28-2008 08:10 PM

The title of this video is 'Don't **** with Rey Maualuga.'

It would be similar domination like him and Ellis were to USC

Agreed, he is the most physical OT I think I have seen since Pace.

PhillyChiefFan 04-29-2008 05:43 AM

Interesting, not a single QB taken in the first.

acesn8s 04-29-2008 01:24 PM

So Dallas loses to NE in the SB?

Micjones 04-30-2008 04:19 PM

Either Oher or Maualuga #1.

Raiderh8ter77 04-30-2008 05:20 PM

This is bull crap, we will not be selecting 3rd. I think the Chiefs will go 8-8 second in the AFC West

1. Chargers- 10-6
2. Chiefs- 8-8
3. Raiders- 7-9
4. Donkeys- 6-10

lol, Chiefs will be lucky to win 5 games all year. There's no way we end up 8-8.

SBK 05-03-2008 01:40 AM

I'd like us to continue to focus on our lines. If we can create a dominating d-line and o-line we'll have a dominating team.

Al Bundy 05-04-2008 08:07 AM

I'd like Selvie for Tampa out of next years draft.

Spicy McHaggis 05-04-2008 10:26 AM

Only one RB projected to go in the 1st right now, that would be interesting.

Mr. Laz 05-04-2008 01:12 PM

well first off, your offensive tackles can NEVER be too good. It's just not possible. They let your run wide and send more receivers out in patterns which can totally change your offense.

so i'm not against taken a OT early .... unlike a guard or center which i wouldn't really ever want to take in round one.

no 1st round QB = bad
lots of DE = good

another meat potatoes type draft is good with Herm running things imo. Defense and offensive line

i don't want Herm to strain his brain with any fancy, schmancy arena league stuff before we kick him to the curb in a couple of years.

Got to agree. Rey Maualuga is the real deal and will be a pro-bowler in the NFL in my opinion. Dominant playmaker.
