DAMMIT Guillen!!!

Bottom 7 bases loaded,2-0 Royals and Jose grounds out :banghead:

teedubya 05-14-2008 08:34 PM

worse than that... he whiffs on ball 4 outside the plate.

It was a "Are you a winner? Or are you another Juan Gonzalez?" type defining moment

Adept Havelock 05-14-2008 08:34 PM

Nice job of it swinging at Ball 4 as well. It should be 3-0. :banghead:

Silock 05-14-2008 08:36 PM

I can't complain seeing that we're still winning.

Still, that was a terrible pitch to swing at.

Demonpenz 05-14-2008 08:42 PM

Guillion needed to do better there, but come on. If you get a hit 3 out of 10 times you doing well in baseball. Atleast he is like batting 400 in his last week

Coach 05-14-2008 08:43 PM

Dupe

That 2-0 pitch was right in the middle for him to swing. What does he do? Let it whizz right by him.

Yeah but this ump has been calling it loose. Did you see the high and outide stirke called on Gordon?

No, I missed it. I'm flipping back and forth between the NBA playoffs and the Royals game. I would have just DVR'd the NBA game, but my wife is hogging the DVR with her stupid chick shows.

Just focking frustrated when I think about some of the games they could've won with a little offense.I just hope the pitching and defense can continue while the offense catches up.

It was above the letter and had pudge reaching it was so far outside. Was a horrible call.

I think this ump makes his decision on balls/strikes before the ball hits the catcher's mitt. His strike hand signal is pretty trigger happy.

Coach 05-14-2008 08:52 PM

Pena swings at ball 4. Take the f**king walk!

Coach 05-14-2008 08:52 PM

Swung at ball 5.

petegz28 05-14-2008 08:52 PM

Time to get Filthy!!!!

Adept Havelock 05-14-2008 08:52 PM

Paging Dr. Filthy McNasty, Dr. McNasty, please report to the mound.

Demonpenz 05-14-2008 08:54 PM

i agree it is frustrating, but then again so is like 12 years of sucking ass. I have seen hundreds a games a year for 18 years. I just get to the point of eating sunflower seeds drinking a cold one and enjoy having time to watch the games. Next year though they better be better

Coach 05-14-2008 08:57 PM

SIT YOUR ASS DOWN!

POND_OF_RED 05-14-2008 09:00 PM

is this guy human?!?!

Demonpenz 05-14-2008 09:00 PM

jeez i wish he would have saved that curve for a game or a situation that was really needed. That thing is unhittable unless you have seen it a couple times

Eh. He'll have something else up his sleeve. Soria's not a really predictable pitcher.

Sure-Oz 05-14-2008 09:03 PM

ownage with this pitching, and as for guillen he has been turning it up lately...

he did swing at ball 4

KevB 05-14-2008 09:03 PM

That guy just has straight FILTHY stuff. The swing from Thames on strike 2 was actually the worst attempt to strike a baseball in anger that I've ever seen.

I am picking nits but i think he could have got an out without showing it. Hopefully the shit is too nasty where even you know it's coming you can't hit it

Teahan was saying in an interview the other day that the guy can pitch just about anything. Said he has 5 to choose from easily at all times.

Amazing...

Sam Hall 05-14-2008 09:05 PM

Major League hitters aren't supposed to be intimidated like that:thumb:

He got 4 pitches to choose from. That's a 1/4 of a chance of guessing it right, in a hitters perspective.

Most closers usually have 2-3 pitches. It's rare to have a closer that can do 4 pitches, much less, have excellent command on all 4 of them, as evidenced throughout this year.

KCUnited 05-14-2008 09:07 PM

Guillen is batting .315 for the month of May, his 2 RBIs and double in the late innings last night were huge. That being said, that was ball 4.

Nzoner 05-14-2008 09:09 PM

and the Twinkies lose again PBJ

Coach 05-14-2008 09:10 PM

And gotta give an atta-boy to Hochover for pitching a gem today. To hold them to zero runs is pretty impressive.

I beleive that is now 2.0 out of first? Unfortunately Cleveland won, but hey, the Royals will get their chance in May 27 to June 1 as they play the Twins and Cleveland at the K.

Sure-Oz 05-14-2008 09:14 PM

This pitching can keep us in any game, imagine if meche gets his shit together....

This offense i think will improve as the year goes...i really hope that gordon and butler start raking soon...

Mant he simple fact that we are in May and talking half-ass serious about 1st place is just awesome.

Definitely. This Meche-Bannister-Greinke-Hochevar rotation looks like it has a lot of potential. If we could get some run support I think this team will at least compete until September.

Plug in Davies or Rosa late this year early next year and that's exciting.

KCUnited 05-14-2008 09:18 PM

I'll give it up to Mahay as well. I was scratching my head when Hillman took Luke out for a Lefty. But Mahay took them down 1-2-3. Hillman completely lost his mind when he brought Mahay back out in the 8th though.

Also the next two series @Florida and @Boston should tell us a lot.

KcMizzou 05-14-2008 09:45 PM

Guillen's been coming around a bit lately. I figure the rest of the offense will too.

The pitching has been flat out amazing, though.

teedubya 05-14-2008 09:57 PM

our pitching staff is pretty bad ass... and methinks its going to be better over the next couple years.

Unreal.

Guillen is hitting lefties at a 60 point lower average than righties. Makes sense to leave Mahay in.
