The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor trailer

Looks like it could be some good brain-dead fun, like the other two.

No Rachel Weisz, though. Damnit.

I hate Brendon Frasier, and the mummy.

Deberg_1990 05-16-2008 09:51 AM

Didnt like either of the first two. I thought they were cheesy Indy Jones inspired knockoffs.

I never thought of it that way but I think you hit it on the nose.

I don't like Brenden Frazier, I just can't get him in Encino man out of my head :doh!:

Sure-Oz 05-16-2008 10:51 AM

They weren't that bad, good mindless fun

Wonder if they killed off her character and he has a kid i believe too

InChiefsHeaven 05-16-2008 10:54 AM

Um...I loved them. The first one especially, the second was kind of a pain with the kid...

...but if Rachel Weisz isn't in this one...there goes one of the best reasons to watch...

Amnorix 05-16-2008 10:58 AM

Thought both were great mindless fun and look forward to the 3rd.

R&GHomer 05-16-2008 10:59 AM

Yeah he had a kid in the second one. Oh I don't know, I kind of liked the first two. I don't think I would pay to see it in the theater though. Definately a rental

FAX 05-16-2008 11:04 AM

I thought they were fun. I don't like the fact that Rachel isn't in this one, though.

For me, that makes it a rental. I mean, if they don't care enough to keep her, I don't have to care enough to buy a ticket.

I can't find any info about why she's not in this one...but I have a hard time believing they didn't want her back...probably a contract thing or a project conflict or something.

...man, she sure was fun to watch in the first two...

My guess is that she wanted more money than they were willing to pay, Mr. InChiefsHell. She's A-list, these days.

Therefore, it makes them bastard cheapskates and I shall boycott their silly-ass movie and encourage all other Rachel lovers to do likewise.

That's like paying for a hot dog, and then finding out that there's just the bun.

For her I would bring my own weiner.

It'll be embarrassing if this is better than Indy. I always thought they should have gone with some more asian influences for Indy IV.

noa 05-16-2008 05:49 PM

Darren Aronofsky is one lucky mofo

007 05-16-2008 06:23 PM

Damn video is not working for me. Even the WMP one is freezing up at the beginning. The flash one keeps coming up unavailable. Oh well.

Tribal Warfare 05-16-2008 06:25 PM

It says the video is unavailable

It's Jet Li. I will go see it.

DaneMcCloud 05-16-2008 08:26 PM

Maria Bello is replacing Rachel Weisz as Evie in the upcoming Mummy film (which is set in Asia). She kept changing her mind as to whether or not she wanted to do the third movie and finally, Universal just moved on without her.

As for the Mummy III movie, I have my reservations due to the choice of directors (Rob Cohen). I'm not a fan of his work at all. And while I liked "The Mummy", the "Mummy II" felt rushed and contrived.

That's unfortunately what happens when you have a huge hit and the studio wants an immediate sequel.

They were both Stephan Sommers films.

The upcoming Mummy movie is directed by Rob Cohen.

Not exactly.

And especially not "Stealth".

I liked Dragon the Bruce Lee Story. Most everything else he has done has been garbage.

Fairplay 05-17-2008 07:22 AM

I doubt i will see the movie until DVD. Maybe not even then.

I wasn't thrilled about either one.

stumppy 05-17-2008 07:41 AM

This looks better than the last one. Wait and see I guess.

All of them. His 'love of porn' is just a cover for his true daytime passion.
