New stadium looks like a factory

Maybe the factory workers can get off work and watch a game afterwards.

Colts new stadium. :shake:

teedubya 05-17-2008 10:24 AM

to me, that is pretty ugly.

irishjayhawk 05-17-2008 10:25 AM

That may be the worst stadium design in the world.

Spott 05-17-2008 10:25 AM

You would think $4.00 a gallon would buy a better looking stadium.

JBucc 05-17-2008 10:26 AM

That is horrible. What was wrong with their old one anyway?

irishjayhawk 05-17-2008 10:28 AM

Rivaling the stadium in poor design is their website.

Welcome to an 8 year old designer and the early 00s.

Besides it being a dome with artificial crowd noise, it was also a fairly small NFL stadium.

Stewie 05-17-2008 10:35 AM

That kind of reminds me of the AZ Diamondbacks' stadium. It's no prize, either.

el borracho 05-17-2008 10:45 AM

The facade is the only part I actively dislike.

kstater 05-17-2008 10:47 AM

Maybe their going for a Fieldhouse type look? IIRC the Basketball arena looks somewhat similar?

kstater 05-17-2008 10:49 AM

Yup, looks similar.

BigChiefFan 05-17-2008 10:51 AM

It looks kind of NASCAR-ESQUE, but I was expecting to see a dump-It's not my taste, but I wouldn't call it ugly. Okay it looks like a ****ing barn.

Here's the stadium when we were there for the Chiefs playoff game. I love the banner. Future home of the Drum core champions.ROFL

That stupid Lucas oil signs on it is the exclamation point to the ugliness.
What were they thinking about to ok this design?

Frazod 05-17-2008 11:02 AM

Ick. Clearly they were going for a retro look, and got it. But not in a good way.

I think this works much better for an open baseball stadium, but not a fully enclosed football stadium.

But it will go quite well with the Colts' drab, awful uniforms.

Mile High Mania 05-17-2008 11:04 AM

Yeah, the new "measuring stick" will be the Cowboys' new stadium...

It is a poop hole that reminded me of an old high school gym when I went up there.

Interesting, but I could only take a few seconds of Jerry Jones' pompous rambling.

I don't know, that's pretty ugly too.

The exterior looks like a giant beetle.

Frazod 05-17-2008 11:11 AM

I still think Arrowhead beats them all. Or at least it did until all the new shit they're adding to only one side of it completely wrecks it's clean, symmetrical appearance. :shake:

Fairplay 05-17-2008 11:19 AM

Idea for the newly renovated Arrowhead stadium. The Hunt owners listen up and take notice.

Get Hooters to sponsor it. You can have a Hooters restaurant connected to it.
Have Hooters girls sell the beer, hot wings, etc. to the customers in the stands.

I guarantee attendance would go up. Sold out every game like it use too. Plus other visiting people would think our stadium is the sh*t.

Concessions would be at an all time high. Heck people might not care how bad the product is out on the field. There would be other sites to check out, heh.

Bugeater 05-17-2008 11:21 AM

I like it, it's something different. It's certainly way better than the cookie cutter crap everyone was building 30 years ago. The giant "LUCAS OIL" on the roof needs to go, or at least be a little more subtle. Then again, it is just an artist's conception, the fact that it looks like a crappy photoshop job is what makes it look bad.

morphius 05-17-2008 11:25 AM

I guess Indy figures that when they move out of the new one some industrial co. can move right in. yeah, that must be it.

Doubt that would work bc Hooters actually owned it own team at one time. Miami Hooters of the Arena League, and well they arent around today.

acesn8s 05-17-2008 11:38 AM

Come see the Colts in their new stadium where Peyton will check your dipstick and every fan gets a free lube job.

blueballs 05-17-2008 11:40 AM

I also prefer the stadium to be in the middle of the parking

God I hate the Cowboys, and all their cock sucking band wagon fair weather ****ing bundle of sticksot fans.

Ok that's a little strong. I have a couple of good friends who are cowboys fans.

They don't give a shit about football when they suck.

Then they build a team, and it's "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO Cowboys!!"

Not to mention the fact that I have to play them almost every game on XBOX live, and the developers of the game are obviously Cowboys fans. Larry Johnson gets hurt on the first drive 3 out of every 4 times I play them. Marion Barber is unstoppable, and I mean unstoppable, but the pompous cowboys fans are too stupid to run the ball.

the video screen is bad ass.....60 yards....

Mile High Mania 05-17-2008 12:55 PM

Jones is annoying and the fans are fair weathered... the thing that is killing many fans are the seat "options". Many season ticket holders for the last 20+ years have been priced out in this new stadium. Granted the cheapest seats are only $9 more than the cheapest seat in TX Stadium... but, I'll bet the view of the field is much different as well.

Good thing they have a 600 ton monitor hanging over the field.... that is insane looking. All that being said, sure it looks kinda odd - new stadiums do, but that thing will be badass I'm sure.

Aw yes, the floating pig. If they tour at that stadium it would be almost perfect for that set-up.

Cowboy fans are by far the biggest dicks and 99% of them have never lived in Texas, yet are "lifelong" Cowboy fans. The only thing that is actually bigger in Texas is all those bastard's mouths.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the design. I can't beleive the fans and ownership would be on board with it.

And when the Cowboys suck they root for the SB favorites. "They are my second favorite team. I've always liked them".

I've kinda' done the same. When Cowher left I followed the Steelers when they were on. When Capers left I followed the Panthers (expansion start) when they were on. Pretty much Marty's coaching tree.

Sadly, I'm always pulling for the Steelers come playoff time...

R&GHomer 05-17-2008 02:55 PM

That's pretty ****ing ugly if you ask me. I can't wait to see the new arrowhead.

I'm a big Titans fan too. I probably wouldn't give a shit about the Chiefs if Tennessee had a team when I was a child, but somehow I am forever linked to this team. but that's not the point. You following teams that you have interest in, and wanting teams to be successful because you like their players or coaches is not the same as rooting teams for because you think they are going to win.
