The Tragedy of Dwayne Bowe
http://www.bleacherreport.com/articl...of-Dwayne-Bowe
Kansas City Chiefs: The Tragedy of Dwayne Bowe by Dallas Wilson (Scribe) May 24, 2008 Dwayne Bowe was born in Miami on Sept. 21, 1984. Thus begins the tragedy. Bowe has the perfect body for football. He's 6-foot-2 and 221 pounds, big for an NFL receiver. He can go through the middle and take the most brutal hits. He has breakaway speed, running a 4.5 forty even in high school. He connected with 2007 top draft pick JaMarcus Russell on 23 touchdowns during their career, an LSU school record. All these things caused him to be a hyped draft pick. Then all these things disappeared in one moment. The Kansas City Chiefs picked him with the 23rd overall pick in the 2007 draft. No one predicted this would kill his career. The Chiefs had just come off their first playoff appearance in several years with a record of 9-7. They had historically had a high scoring offense, always near the top. They had Larry Johnson, the surprise superstar out of Penn State, and Tony Gonzales, the best tight end to ever play the game of football. They also had quarterbacks Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle. Who? You've never heard of Damon Huard, except that he is a quality backup. But he is a backup, nothing more. Brodie Croyle was a third round choice in 2006 and was not meant to be anything but the next Damon Huard. A year of these two quarterbacks splitting time, plus the biggest o-line failure of all time caused the high scoring offense to drop to last place. They were 4-11. They had nine straight losses to end their season. Bowe, at least tried. He caught 70 passes for 995 yards. He had six touchdown catches. Those are remarkably good numbers for a receiver, and not usually the numbers of a failure. Just imagine this scenario. In the first round of the playoffs two years ago, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Colts, win the Super Bowl, and end up selecting Colt's wide receiver Anthony Gonzales. The Colts would have probably selected Bowe. This would pair him with the best quarterback in the game, Peyton Manning, and two of its best receivers, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. With Harrison getting hurt early, Bowe would have stepped into the starting role and flourished. His numbers would have looked something like this: 1,500 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns off of 100 receptions. But, sadly, the Chiefs lost and they drafted Bowe. Now with the Chiefs still looking to be horrible on the offensive end, Bowe will again underachieve. He won't play to his full potential until he is on a different team. I like the Chiefs, but I like Bowe more. I don't want them to pull down a career that could put him among the game's greatest. Please, Herm, do Bowe a favor and trade him. If this never happens, it will be the biggest tragedy since Romeo and Juliet. |

haha, he ripped the Chiefs a good one.
|
wow... what a flaming piece of shit....
|
What the hell?
|
The best players are the highest draft picks. Those picks go to the teams with the worst records. That's how it works.
|
I find this piece of opinionated shit quite infuriating....

But knowing that some dickface Dallas Wilson actually got paid to pull this randomness out of his ass just rubs me much worse than it ever should... I guess what gets me is taking one's opinion and actually spouting out fictitious numbers and scenarios based on that opinion. It's like twofold bullshit... Quote:

The dickface "Scribe" is quite the professional..... http://www.bleacherreport.com/users/19233-Dallas_Wilson Might as well be MySpace Sports or something..... |
Yes because having close to 1000 yards as a rook is a colossal failure...what a tool.
|
I'd tell this clown that Bowe had a great rookie season, having played for a real crappy team, that he put up respectful numbers.

After reading his responses to the comments, I kinda feel bad for the kid.
Not only is he clueless, he clearly didn't know what he was getting into. He's just some kid wanna-be blogger... not really worthy of the full Chiefsplanet wrath. :p |
Apparently the new rule is that he just has to say he doesn't want to play in KC and Carl will trade him. Negotiating is not worth Carl's time.

I am sure Bowe would have preferred going to Indy, but shit happens and he ended up on a shitty offensive team. I imagine all the dollars helps salve the wound.

I like you, but I like the pig shit that helps my flowery bushes grow more. It's not personal, it's just that I hope you choke on anything distasteful and die. In pain. Shaking. Convulsing perhaps. No hard feelings... |
Haha. This kid's going to withdraw from his AP English classes at school and forever put away those dreams of becoming the next *gag* Jay Mariotti *gag*.
One naive article + Chiefs fans = shattered dreams. I love it. |
The kid's taking a beating
Gretz will finish him off |
Dallas Wilson is probably thrilled that his amateur article is getting this much play on the internet. I bet he googles himself.
|
doesn't this idgit know that Brodie Croyle IS the next Peyton Manning? :)
they both seem like real off the field goobers... you never know how much else they have in common until they are BOTH throwing behind an offensive line that is worth a crap. With JA's departure, Bowe has been bumped up to my favorite Chief on the team status. He probably COULD be getting better numbers somewhere else... but then this cheesed!ck would have nothing left to write about!! Slick |
Pat Clifton tears this guy a new asshole in this week's edition of Cliff Notes.

Sadly, this brings to mind the many great players who have worn the Chiefs uniform and never even sniffed a Super Bowl. A lot of wasted talent has passed through this franchise on their way to retirement.

Yep, Bowe will be wasted here in KC in the same manner Tony G obviously has been.
