First step: Acknowledge you have a problem.

Only 11 more steps to follow in the program...

Ebolapox 05-28-2008 01:07 PM

eh, I'm no fan, but I could give a crap less about the spurs.

CoMoChief 05-28-2008 01:27 PM

I absolutely hate Tim Duncan.

He's the biggest crybaby in the NBA.

Bugeater 05-28-2008 01:30 PM

Meh, one more game and they'll be done anyway.

KCChiefsMan 05-28-2008 01:31 PM

I don't really care for them, but no reason to hate them. I always liked The Admiral back in the day

Did u watched the 2005 NBA finals? Spurs Vs. Pistons. It was a classic.

Rooster 05-28-2008 01:56 PM

I'm not a big NBA fan anymore. I kinda dislike them all just some more than others. The Spurs however are okay in my book.

No. It may have been classic too some, but I have no doubt it would've bored the shit out of me.

KC Big Ones 05-29-2008 11:06 AM

I hear ya..if Detroit, San Antonio, Boston, or LA make it to the finals, I'm not watching.

BigCatDaddy 05-29-2008 11:18 AM

Not as much as I hate Kobe and Phil Jackson. I'm surprised those egos can fit in the same arena. I'm pulling for whoever comes out of the East. I think it will be Boston, but Detroit would probably be the tougher matchup for the Lakers.

i'll go as far to say that if any team in the nba makes it to the finals i'm not watching. pro basketball has a zero appeal rating for me.

Yeah, that was kinda the joke considering those are the last four teams left. But I hear ya, I just can't get into it. Too many primadonnas, not enough team play and defense.

BigCatDaddy 05-29-2008 12:06 PM

The NBA died with the 2nd retirement of MJ.

Ratings are shooting the moon right. Wait till you see what they are if the Lakers play the Celtics in the finals. Dead, I think not.

BigCatDaddy 05-29-2008 12:59 PM

I don't know about the ratings, it just hasn't been the same since MJ left to me. It could also be the rise of the NFL and it overshadowing the NBA also that makes it appear that way.

Yep, that's why their PLAYOFFS are on some Turner network.

That has everything to do with the contract which happened before this season and nothing to do with how popular they are now.

BigCatDaddy 05-29-2008 01:16 PM

Mostly because of nostalga for those not living in LA or Boston.

Say what? They got as much money as they could get and the best exposure they could get. i.e. not network television like they used to have.

You know, i used to kind of think that way...

But honestly, TV is so fragmented and specialized now, Network TV isnt what it used to be.

Heck, who doesnt at least have basic network cable these days?? Thats usually what TNT, TBS, ESPN play on.

Mr. Laz 05-29-2008 01:30 PM

not as much as i hate the lakers

Yea I was just going to say the same thing. Hell we are lucky to get 2 football games on any given week now. Does it matter, no.

Molitoth 05-29-2008 01:54 PM

I hate the Spurs.

RealSNR 05-29-2008 01:54 PM

Tony Parker cries about calls a lot more than Tim Duncan, in my opinion. And he's a bigger douche.

I also can't stand how sports casters jizz their pants over Manu Ginobili. That flopping piece of shit can go to hell.

Agreed. On a side note do you notice a bald spot forming on the top of ginobli's dome?

You can't be serious. Kobe and Rasheed Wallace are the biggest whiners in the NBA.

Q: What did Dennis Quaid say to Robert Horry?

A: YOU JUST GOT ****ED IN THE ASS BY SASHA VUJACIC!!

Lakers win.

Finally, someone agrees with me that that was an amazing NBA Finals, and I'm a Piston fan. It went to game 7 tied going into the 4th quarter. How can anyone say other?

luv 05-30-2008 06:55 AM

I don't hate them as much as I do Kobe Bryant -- err -- the Lakers.

Saulbadguy 05-30-2008 09:25 AM

Kobe is literally a basketball god. FWIW.

I know he's good. I just hate it when announcers say things like, "Kobe Bryant and the Lakers won last night."

Kobe was pretty instrumental in the win.

They do that for every sport, with every star of the team.

I know you're right. Maybe it's just because I'm rooting for the Celtics. I haven't watched the NBA playoffs in forever. Are the Celtics and Lakers still major rivals like they were in the Magic Johnson/Larry Bird days?

far from it.... that's what happens when your team is in the cellar for well over a decade.

even though i love seeing 80's basketball highlights... if the celtics win... we'll all be seeing enough magic/bird highlights to make you want to throw up... hard

its gonna be gnarly
