Gas Prices..set to soar.

Fueled up this morning at $3.54....now it has jumped by .50 in 7 hours.

Get ready for the onslaught...they blame it on the hurricane..but its really because of Labor Day weekend.

I think it is both. If they expect the hurricane to come through the Gulf at a strength of a 4 or 5 slamming into TX, LA, AL, and MS then they'll have to shutdown the oil rigs. Oh I don't like this at all.

Dartgod 08-27-2008 02:30 PM

I hate big hurricane.

Demonpenz 08-27-2008 02:31 PM

I hope it gets up to like 10 dollars or something. It will be good entertainment

You make a piss poor Donger.

evolve27 08-27-2008 02:54 PM

Dammit, I just read a article that says gas prices are continuing to slide, according to a daily survey on Yahoo!. Gas companies have bought over the media nowadays as well.

Are you saying that a specific station raised the price of their gasoline $0.50 in seven hours? If so, where?

There wwas a piece on the Tulsa TV news saying the US is exporting gasoline to other countries. I didn't know that. It sounds like a good way to keep prices up though.

I know we export oil, but as I understand it we have to import gasoline since we're short on refinery capacity so that would be silly.

Yes, "we" do export gasoline. Not very much, but the refineries are free to export to whomever will buy.

What? So gas is $4.04 there? It's $3.42 at the Hy-Vee gas here, 39 if you have a receipt.

luv 08-27-2008 09:55 PM

As of 9:30PM, the as was still $3.29 here. Have to see what it looks like in the morning. I think Ive got half a tank. Should last me through the weekend.

chief52 08-27-2008 10:00 PM

It was $4.35 here this morning. It will be back over $5.00 if it makes another run :cuss:

unlurking 08-27-2008 10:01 PM

I went from 35,000 miles a year, to about 5,000 miles a year. My budget is still $550 a month for gas, so it can go to almost $20 a gallon and I wouldn't care. I laugh at anyone complaining about fuel prices!!!!!!!

:D

(customer paying monthly train/parking expenses helps too)

I just won't do anything but go to work anymore.

dj56dt58 08-27-2008 10:21 PM

why doesn't everyone just quit paying for gas until they lower the prices? They can't arrest everyone

And if so..I would bail anyone here out.. ROFL

I filled up at $3.95 in SF when I left SF last week. I have filled up twice down here in Laguna at $3.85. You must be in a remote area because that seems high from what I have seen lately.

BWillie 08-27-2008 10:41 PM

fucking Hurricanes.

Mr. Flopnuts 08-27-2008 10:59 PM

Here in the land with the highest gas tax in the nation we're paying around 3.73 a gallon.
