Just in time for the regular season...The Tony Gonzalez Highlight Film.....II!

Back in 2005 I made a very lame, short, crappy highlight film for Tony. It was definitely time to do it RIGHT, so here's the sequel. I did not, however, re-use any clips that appeared in the first one, as it is it's own entity.

Right click, save as...

The Tony Gonzalez Highlight Film II

As always, you need the latest version of ffdshow installed to watch.

Is this only from the past few years?

Id like to see some of his early highlights from 97-2000.

I remember one long TD pass against the Raiders around 1999? It was like a 70-75 yarder.

One of the benefits of collecting all this video is I was able to include some stuff from his days with Grbac. But not much. It's mostly the tail end of 2005, 2006 and 2007, with a smidge of 2002/2003/2004.

ToxSocks 09-05-2008 12:53 PM

You always seem to make bad song choices, video could've been so much cooler

I'm glad you made good on my suggestion :). You made me think I was going to have to wait until he retired.

I'll download it when I get home. Looking forward to it.

Just sayin', that song makes the vid boring...

Here is an example of a vid that gets someone pumped, and who ever did this has way less footage and of poor quality. BUT.....the song gets it going, and the way he uses the slo-mo effect and the dancing footage makes it fun to watch.

object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7YRH7bCT-SM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7YRH7bCT-SM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

philfree 09-05-2008 01:08 PM

That was cool. You should make one with nothing but his 66 TD catches and call it 66 Dunks.

Sigh...no one said it needed to be rap or electric guitars, just something with more life in it. And no one said you suck, i admire the time it took you to make it, as well as the time it took to collect the footage, but i KNOW you can do a hell of a lot better with that footage.

Because you pick boring music i have no culture? Nice. If you like that song so much fine, it had it's place in the begining to hype it up, but the whole video? It lacked excitment and didnt give TG's catches justice. Just an opinion, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

Buehler445 09-05-2008 01:33 PM

Dude you're going to have to tell me the name of the song. Youtube doesn't embed on Chiefs Planet Mobile.

Yeah, great, well composed song blah blah blah. But for a football video? Football is about passion, energy, anger and excitment. That song is for Lord of the rings or star wars, not a football highlight video. It woudn't have been so bad had you switched it up, maybe just kept that piece in the beggining when you were going over his stats. Then, BAHM! switch song and inject some life into it for christ sake.

It's boring. Get over it. When you made your video, you only thought about the intro. It's obvious, since it's the only part that was planned out. And you can tell that's exactly why you picked that song. Worked perfect for your intro, not the rest of the vid, sorry.

Hammock Parties 09-05-2008 01:45 PM

Jesus, you fail. Please go to the theatre, the opera or the symphony at some point. Expand your horizons. Improve your mind. Most of all, burn your rap CDs.

You continue with personal attacks, so sad. By the way, i dont listen to rap, but can appreciate it unlike you. The rap song was great for his video and worked well. You're just another wannabe music elitist that thinks that not listening to main stream music makes you intelligent and "cultured". If you were cultured, you'd aprciate all mucic, but apparently beats, lyrics and guitars are for the weak minded right? That video has attitude, yours doesnt. Accept it and try again next time.

CrazyHorse 09-05-2008 01:55 PM

The video ws cool enough. But the music was too numbing. I found myself waiting for the crecendo only to hear the song loop over and over. It was building but never delivered.

One hell of a TE though. Over all, nice job.

God, stop making it about rap, im not saying you should use rap. I could give a rat's ass about rap. Im saying use music that matches the intensity of the play on the field.

Good for you. You shoulda switched to some AC/DC after your intro and edited the clips to the beat/breaks of which ever AC/DC song. It would've made it more interesting. Like i said in the beggining, i can appreciate your work, just not your song choices. Some times they just leave the video dull. That song was great for the intro, and kudos to you for finding and using it, but that song has it's place, and it doesnt support a long football video.

It's just because you, like most people on this forum hate rap. I dont blame you, im not a fan either, but it was fitting for his video and made it exciting. What would that video have been like with some orchestra behind it?

King_Chief_Fan 09-05-2008 02:19 PM

If you noticed, I opened the video with Grbac-Gannon-Green-Huard-Croyle...all the QBs Tony has played with over the years.

I also thought it was amusing at the end when all the great jump balls Tony was snagging were Huard throws. ROFL

You should have put it to in the club by 50 cent that song is P-H-A-T !

POND_OF_RED 09-05-2008 04:57 PM

I think the music matches up perfectly with the ending. From 5:26 til the last dunk there is always some sound effect for a catch plus it matches up perfectly with the missed tackle by Arizona and the hellacious block by.....Sammie Parker...???? Awesome video. I think the reason it's not as "exciting as most videos" is the fact that it's a tight end highlight video. No out of this world type plays, or monster hits. Just someone getting open and making catches. Tony just does his job week to week without much flash to him. Best tight end EVA!

Man I didn't even do that intentionally. I just watched it and noticed that it does indeed sync up. Funny.

Chiefaholic 09-06-2008 12:14 PM

I don't care for Gochiefs as a person, but he sure as hell has talent in this field. Once again, another great video of a Chief that'll be remembered for a very long time after he hangs up his cleats. The song wasn't all that bad and the timing of his catches and hits were damn near perfect to the music.

Aries Walker 09-06-2008 01:14 PM

Great video. Good music choice, too. I did like how you save many of the tackle-breaking, bull-on-the-loose clips for closer to the end for a sort of buildup.

Too bad there are no videos of him saving that dude's life, though. How would that be for a coup de grace?
