Hey, Hootie - how about that Damon Huard guy?

That dude led the Chiefs to a touchdown and then darn near tied the game. It's too bad our "great" receiver, Dwayne Bowe, dropped that PERFECT touchdown throw from Huard's golden arm on first and goal.

No doubt Huard would have led us to victory in overtime, too. Don't you agree?

PS - I think Huard should start the rest of the year. At least he can take a hit.

Why do I get the feeling you're not joking?

Why would I joke about Damon Huard? He has returned to lead us.

Tribal Warfare 09-07-2008 05:05 PM

Okay gochiefs if you start this shit again I'm going to put you on ignore

Hootie 09-07-2008 05:05 PM

I don't give a shit...

I wanted Croyle to be the guy because we aren't going anywhere with Huard...I wanted our franchise to have a QB in place by next year...I had hope for Croyle after that 1st series in that 1st preseason game...

But if anyone is 'captain checkdown' it's Croyle...and he's even more fragile than Huard.

We should've signed Pennington. If I knew our QB's were THIS bad, I would've been all over that (I wanted him as a backup)...

We're a 6 win team with Huard...whoopee.

Matt friggin' Cassel beat us today...if it wasn't for a few fluke fumbles Brady, when in, was moving the ball at will against us...it was only a matter of time, had he not been injured, before the Pats pulled away...

Instead we lost to a 'never was' QB who wouldn't be on any other NFL roster...and the Pats defense is overrated...Deltha friggin' O'neal was on the field at the end of the game.

I'm pissed off Herm/Gailey played to stay respectable rather than to win...

Did anyone watch the Bills game? I was at a sports bar, so I got all the games...

Jauron played that game to win the game...fake field goal for a TD...they had a punt return...they forced a turnover and immediately went to the end zone on the 1st play and scored a TD...

We hurt Brady, got a break, and played to 'keep it close'...

Unbelievable.

I wish Brady had stayed in and we lost by 40. Then I would be content with knowing we just weren't good enough.

But today, against Matt friggin' Cassel...we were good enough and we played to keep it respectable.

Stupid.

Hootie 09-07-2008 05:07 PM

and if you're a Chiefs optimist, Clayton is right...Huard is our chance to win some games...and judging by the looks of it, Croyle isn't our future...and Thigpen downright sucks.

So if you want to be competitive and win 6, 7 or 8 games...Huard it is.

If you want to tank like we did last year when we let Croyle play and draft Stafford next year, play Croyle or Thigpen...

But on this team, with our approach, Stafford will bust. SO YAAAAY

Hammock Parties 09-07-2008 05:08 PM

Come on, Hootie. The only way to enjoy this season is to get behind our man, the Chiefs new starting quarterback, 100 percent. You've always loved Damon Huard. Maybe not as hard as me, but you know it feels right. Huard is leading us to a win next week over Oakland, so you might as well get on the train before it leaves the station.

ALL ABOARD! CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY! IT'S DAMON CLAUS TO THE RESCUE!

If we lose at Arrowhead to Oakland with Croyle at QB, with Huard at QB, with Thigpen at QB, again, for the second straight year...I'll go to my 'hey I hope LJ has a big day' or 'I hope Dorsey does good' mode and not care about the final score mode.

Reerun_KC 09-07-2008 05:11 PM

Hootie just manned up and bitch slapped GoChiefs...

I actually agree with you. I can't get behind Huard. I want to get behind someone who will be able to lead our team in the future. I was so hoping Croyle was it.

I also felt like the Pats were off to a slow start. While I wouldn't have wanted to lose by 40, I think we would have.

I will just be behind whoever is in...

If Croyle is healthy enough to play, I doubt he gets benched next week...he has a few more weeks at least...

I rather just see some creative playcalling rather than run, run, pass, punt Gailey style.

If I thought we had any chance to be playoff bound I'd say start Huard in a minute...he doesn't do anything pretty, but he tends to get the job done...

Herm is still in control of this offense.... See todays game...

Well come on, why do you think we lost to the Raiders at Arrowhead last year?

DAMON HUARD WAS RIDING THE BENCH!

Don't you recall the great comeback win Huard led us to in Oakland early last year? Remember that clutch, 60-yard throw he made late in the game to Dwayne Bowe, setting up the winning score?

Huard's back. It's time to get crunk and whoop on the wobbles as they whistle.

I don't believe that. I don't believe that he was in control last year...he's just the fall guy. But he should be, he's the head coach.

I got a kick out of another thread someone giving all of the credit to Huard on the Darling play late in the 4th quarter...

God Darling must be the devil on this board if people are giving props to Huard...for anything.

Hootie, you dont go through 5 OC's in 7 years and not be the fall guy, when the same damn thing happens every freaking game...

Wow you sure have changed your tune quick. You have flip flopped back and forth between a terrible QB in Croyle and the career Journeyman in Huard 4 or 5 times. So much for Croyle CLEARLY outplaying Huard.

C) the same old 8-8 attitude that keeps us at the pinnacle of mediocrity

dont you think warpaint would have better stories to write if ANYONE but Damon was in!? now it is going to be .... Damon either A) was at the helm at another chiefs loss or B) Damon got us to a few wins but it does nothing b/c our :cuss: QB situation being resolution is still harder to find then Hoffas body :hmmm:

theres your staple wpi headlines for every story for the rest of the season with Damon at the helm. i dont hate Huard... i just feel hes not the best way to find resolution at the QB position

I'm going to give Damon Huard a big sloppy kiss this week because I dogged him during training camp...he gets MAD PROPS for leading us to a game-tying touchdown...that was unfortunately sabotaged by "The show."

Huard is going to look great with Albert protecting his blindside! If the running game gets better we could see a return to the type of MVP-level play Huard provided us in 2006!

donkhater 09-08-2008 05:38 PM

Playing huard is like dating that nice, safe, so-so looking girl. She is reliable, loyal, not really that interesting to talk to and is nice, but just doesn't make you jump up and down thanking the heavens you are with her.

Croyle is like the good looking girl down the street. She's smart and athletic, but you don't know much about her. You don't know whether or not she's funny, a nice person or if she is a shallow bitch. But you aren't willing to let go of the nice safe 'pretty-good' girl you are with now to find out.

This team needs to go with Croyle. They need to find out if he is is what his talents say that he could be. And they need to find that out by letting him run the team and not 'protecting' him from making mistakes.

Oh, did I mention that the good girl is 40 years old and the good-looking girl is early twenties? That's a no-brainer, my friend.

Micjones 09-08-2008 05:47 PM

Let me fix your analogy for you...

You've had a handful of conversations with the twentysomething and you've learned she isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. You're willing to overlook glaring personality flaws though despite her good looks. You keep telling all of your friends you've only had 6 conversations with her. Nevermind the fact that she stared at a carton of Orange Juice for hours because it said "concentrate".

You can keep pretending she isn't dumb as a box of rocks, but ultimately you know time won't fix her.
She's just not the one.

But you've never been in love...
So, you're bound to fall in love with the first Platinum Blonde ditz you run into.

What do we do if the blonde has a separated shoulder? And we know for a fact that the so-so girl always wants to lay down under pressure?
