So would Carl ever......

Have the sack to fire Herm in the middle of the year?

What if this scenario occurs: Chiefs are winless at the midpoint of this season, or have only 1 win come November/December.

Does Carl pull the trigger? Does he give Chan Gailey a trial run at Head Coach??

Thoughts.....

luv 09-08-2008 10:39 AM

I think Clark Hunt needs to grow a set.

Sure-Oz 09-08-2008 10:40 AM

Blow them all up, it won't matter, Carl will be gone soon

Brock 09-08-2008 10:42 AM

If a scenario like that one develops, this whole franchise is going to get a douching. It doesn't matter whether Herm lasts the year or not.

RustShack 09-08-2008 10:42 AM

Bring back Marty!

We all know we are rebuilding. So if we sack Carl/Herm in the middle of the season then start over where do we go? With the stellar draft that Herm pulled off why not give him another year. If he has another draft next year like he did this year we will be a contender in the years to come, provided they get a QB that can take a hit. Of course all bets are off if they only win 4 games this year however I think they will go 8-8 or something like that...lets build for the future we aren't in a postion to be in the running this year no matter what. So why start all over again? Let's look towards the future for once instead of week to week!

Sure-Oz 09-08-2008 10:47 AM

Herm is a better scout than a HC....

He has an eye for talent, but he can't manage the game worth shit....like our offense has gone to hell

Buehler445 09-08-2008 10:48 AM

No, but I hope so. You bring up a good point. Chan does have HC experience He was terrible, but maybe better than Gun.

Optimally, Clark nuts up and fires a thermonuclear weapon at the front office this afternoon, but he missed the ample oppotunity to do it (February).

Stop it. Stop saying keep Herm for another year. I don't care about his drafts. What he has done to the offense should be grounds for execution.

After what we saw yesterday you really think this team will win 8 games?

They will be lucky to win 3. Herm will most likely be gone after this year and he should be.

OnTheWarpath15 09-08-2008 10:51 AM

Getting rid of Herm only solves half of the problem.

The only way this gets fixed is for Clark to sack up, and bulldoze the whole ****ing thing.

Carl.

Herm.

Gunther.

Krumrie.

Preifer.

Gailey.

Kuharich.

Thum.

shaneo69 09-08-2008 10:52 AM

Carl will be sent packing before Herm...

Zouk 09-08-2008 10:52 AM

You're out of your mind. We were just a play away from taking NE to overtime in their house, even though we played 11 rookies in their very first game.

And even with Matt Cassel that team probably wins more than 9 games.

blueballs 09-08-2008 10:52 AM

you have to show the next hc you want to hire some leaway and patience
KC BBQ and Nick "The Erroneous One" Athan ain't enough to draw someone good

triple 09-08-2008 10:53 AM

the whole team needs an enema. getting rid of Herm, the only talent evaluator we have, won't fix the problem

I don't know wether they will win 8 games however I do believe that they will win more than 3 games this year. They hung with the Pats yesterday and they are/were one of the better teams in the NFL. 8 wins might be pushing it but only winning 3 games this year....Not going to happen!

I agree with you. What we saw was a Patriots team in a funk and out of synch, then their star player goes down and the career backup has a day that any HOF QB would smile about. The Pats played way below their level and the Chiefs had to rise far above theirs and we saw that the two teams almost met in the middle. To me, that is hardly cause for great optimism.

I'm pretty sure Carl found Herm on E-Harmony, just like Dick

If we could only play the Chargers without Rivers, the Donkeys without Cutler, the Saints without Brees, the Jets without Favre, the Bucs without Garcia, and the Bengals without Palmer...

Fine. Demote him to talent evaluator. Put someone else in charge of developing them.

So he can evaluate talent. Implementation of said talent is another matter, as evidenced by the lack of offense.

007 09-08-2008 10:58 AM

no
I want Carl fired and Herm will follow.

gblowfish 09-08-2008 10:59 AM

All the Chiefs front office cares about this season is stadium renovations.
They threw this season away when they traded Allen and committed to Brokie as QB.

It's all about the fat cats and getting those luxury suites built and sold. They hope by the time the stadium is done, the team will be also rebuilt. Don't expect them to even try to win until 2010.

That's the cold hard facts.

Wouldnt you think that winning would help draw more people into the stadium??

Losing makes people lose interest....

Frazod 09-08-2008 11:04 AM

The only trigger I hope Carl pulls is one attached to a gun pointed at his own fucking head. :grr:

I would actually love that.

At least he can turn teams into competitors and make them into pro bowlers. He's done that everywhere he's been.

Yeah he's sucked in the playoffs, but a lot of that really is bad luck of the draw. Cleveland, Byner fumbled. the kicker that shall go unamed missing the Fg's here. SD completely imploding the last drive of the game against New England a few years ago.

His biggest playoffs blunders we can think of have not been his fault really. He only coaches, he doesn't make the plays.

One thing I do know is this,

He'd take this defense to the next level where it needs to be.

If you have a 5-13 record in the playoffs, it isn't coincidence, and it isn't bad luck.

Please, if I have to hear him at press conferences for the next 15+ years, I might have to insert ear plugs just to stop from losing IQ.

Best case scenario IMO. Although, damn near anyone would be better than Herm at this point.

biggunns 09-08-2008 12:09 PM

THERE IS NO FUTURE WITH HERM......he has to go!!!!!!

Chiefshrink 09-08-2008 12:10 PM

With all due respect to some here on this board, who say's he is a great talent evaluator? At this point I feel the jury is still out on that one. Herm is Carl's yes man. This is Carl's team and has been since Marty left. Gone to hell in a handbasket since. Marty was a great talent evaluator except for Warfield. Look at what he did for the Chargers!

Valid if Brady simply didn't play. But we blitzed out of the secondary and knocked the QB out of the game. True, it was a gift that we didn't face Brady for 4 quarters, but the gift was given by the Chiefs own defense.

If Herm doesn't handcuff Gailey, we beat the Patriots on the road.
