****Official MNF Game 1 - Packers vs. Vikings Game Thread****

The Aaron Rodgers era begins...

OnTheWarpath15 09-08-2008 05:14 PM

Jaws: The best down to throw is FIRST DOWN.

GET HERM ON THE HORN!

Bugeater 09-08-2008 05:15 PM

Jared Allen must think he's Chuck Norris.

Hammock Parties 09-08-2008 05:15 PM

Jared Allen just punked his own teammates in the starting lineup intro....lol

Bugeater 09-08-2008 05:16 PM

Well that drive didn't go far.

Frazod 09-08-2008 05:22 PM

Whatever ESPN's doing with their graphics this year sucks. Takes up way too much room at the bottom of the screen.

This is hilarious.

Basileus777 09-08-2008 05:34 PM

Clifton's having some problems with Allen.

Bugeater 09-08-2008 05:35 PM

Green Bay may just want to punt now.

Deberg_1990 09-08-2008 05:35 PM

Uh oh....Packers are starting to run the Chiefs offense..

Frazod 09-08-2008 05:35 PM

I think Gailey is calling Green Bay's plays in from Kansas City.

Why wouldn't they?

He's a young QB...haven't you heard that young QB's need to be sheltered with dumbed down playbooks?

He's gotta do it year in, year out and stay healthy before I put him ahead of LT.

Pretty much.

LT doesn't have any sort of durability issues.

Peterson does.

The argument is who is better "right now". It's Peterson.

As in Week 1 of the NFL?

Sure, Peterson looks better this week..so far.

By mid-season I fully expect LT to be the scoring machine he's been the last few years.

Basileus777 09-08-2008 05:45 PM

Kyle Orton would have completed that pass.

OnTheWarpath15 09-08-2008 05:50 PM

God forbid Croyle got a chance to do THAT...

Bugeater 09-08-2008 05:51 PM

Wow. How the hell do they let a young QB take a chance like that?

Marcellus 09-08-2008 05:51 PM

Aaron Rodgers just did his best Favre impression. Chucked it up and it got caught.

stumppy 09-08-2008 05:51 PM

WOW....I'd give my left nut for a QB that could make that pass.

Or a coach that would let him try.

Favre wouldn't have thrown that unless the Vikes had triple coverage on him

Good point.

Basileus777 09-08-2008 05:53 PM

Sloppy game.

Marcellus 09-08-2008 05:53 PM

I think they are trying to set a record for penalties in this game.

Marcellus 09-08-2008 05:54 PM

I think the yellow flags have grass stains all over them already.

The Franchise 09-08-2008 05:54 PM

****! Play the game!

OnTheWarpath15 09-08-2008 05:56 PM

TD, Packers.

Marcellus 09-08-2008 05:56 PM

What a break. Maybe it wasn't Farve. Maybe it's Green Bay and the goast of Bart Starr.

HolmeZz 09-08-2008 05:57 PM

That was a beautiful throw. Perfect spiral.

kstater 09-08-2008 05:57 PM

I'll admit it, I agree with Cornhole and Jaws, that throw looked very similar to Favre.

keg in kc 09-08-2008 05:57 PM

That was one hell of a throw.

Bearcat 09-08-2008 05:57 PM

Pass down to the 5.

Overthrow corner route.

Get sacked.

Toss the ball up for grabs while falling down.

Touchdown.

That's what being a young QB is all about. LMAO

Sure, in Green Bay.

In Kansas city it looks more like this:

Handoff for run up middle.

Throw WR screen.

Handoff for draw on 3rd and 7.

Run to sideline.

Buck 09-08-2008 06:00 PM

LT has been the only consistent back throughout the last 7 Years.

Ricky Williams, Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, Adrian Peterson, Curtis Martin, Stephen Davis, Ahman Green, Corey Dillon, Jamal Lewis, Clinton Portis, Fred Taylor, Edgerrin James, Tiki Barber, Rudi Johnson

These are all players you can argue had 1 or 2 seasons better than, or equal to LaDainian Tomlinson in that particular year, but none of them have had the consistency of Tomlinson so far.

So, yeah, about all this AD is the new best RB in the NFL, prove something first, then get back to me.

Basileus777 09-08-2008 06:00 PM

Kornheiser makes me long for Joe Theisman.

Don't worry Huard will change it up for the next few weeks.

Yeah, after I posted that I thought about Croyle's typical drive, and came up with that sequence, pretty much word for word. I thought about mixing it up on the second drive by throwing the screen on first down just to show that, hey, we pass on first down, too.

Run it up the gut, run it up th egut, drop back and pass while getting blitzed. All day long.

OnTheWarpath15 09-08-2008 06:33 PM

I guess Jared Allen decided to take the first half off this year instead of the 2nd.

No tackles, no sacks.

$70M worth of invisible.

DaFace 09-08-2008 06:33 PM

I'd almost forgotten how much I dislike Kornheiser as a booth guy.

Basileus777 09-08-2008 06:36 PM

The Vikings look like the same team they were last year. Jackson is just pathetic, 16 yards passing? Even Booty can't be worse than that...
