We need to Trade Tony Gonzalez... he doesn't deserve this.

When is the trade deadline?

petegz28 09-21-2008 02:14 PM

I half-heartedly agree.

teedubya 09-21-2008 02:16 PM

trade him for a 3rd rounder to a team in contention. Its not fair to him to be stuck with Herm and the kindergarten level coaching staff.

RibKing67 09-21-2008 02:16 PM

How can he not deserve this? Is he not on this team? Did he not sign the contract? Lets not make one player bigger than the team. He is a great TE nothing more.

I do think we need to trade him but not because he does not deserve this. We should trade him because we could get decent value out of him.

I love the guy and I admire his non-diva attitude so far. I agree with you. He deserves to have a chance at the ring. A conditional third that could be raised to a second seems fair. As much as I hate to see him finish his career elsewhere.

WilliamTheIrish 09-21-2008 02:20 PM

You're three seasons too late. He ain't going anywhere. And I don't want this team absorbing a cap hit for that ridiculous contract he signed.

Tony, like the rest of this franchise can eat his contract.

agreed! give the good man a chance at greatness. otherwise he'll go down in history as the best player ever on the most crappy team.

send him to SD or NE or Indy. Someone that can at least give him a chance at what the man deserves..

For that matter, give LJ to someone too. He's a helluva good player if given the opportunity. sheesh! At least let him get a SB ring too. He and TG diserve it with teh hard work they've given to the chiefs.

I agree with most of your sentiment here. But trade him to SD?! Give me a break! How about Denver?

Well we let Neil Smith walk to Denver and he has two shiney SB rings...

Why not, its not like Carl or Herm will ever reward these guys with a trip to the big dance...

L.A. Chieffan 09-21-2008 06:17 PM

Trade him for Quinn, Winslow, and their 1st rounder next year

Mecca 09-21-2008 06:18 PM

Guess he shouldn't have taken that huge contract then, he took getting paid over going to a championship team. That's his deal.

DaneMcCloud 09-21-2008 06:19 PM

Shut the **** up

blueballs 09-21-2008 06:20 PM

poor baby
I hope a nice titty **** from October
and her wiping off his jizz with hundreds makes him feel better

That was right after we went to the playoffs so I guess you can't completely blame him. Oh wait yeah you can.

He should have known...honestly we paid him quite a bit more than any other team would have, so it was a good financial move which is fine if that's what he wants.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-21-2008 06:22 PM

We could take the cap hit, but of the true Super Bowl contenders, who needs a TE?

Philly. Green Bay. Even so, it will never happen. Carl doesn't trade his guys, or let them leave via FA...too big of a PR hit.

FAX 09-21-2008 06:25 PM

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with the sentiment.

What a mess.

Jared Allen?

I agree. He doesn't deserve to end his career playing for these reeruns getting creamed every week in a 3/4 empty stadium.

I sure would love to see him in Chicago. They sure could have used him today.

That was a completely different scenario. LJ, Tony, Priest weren't .08 from sitting out a year.

luv 09-21-2008 06:31 PM

Nice sentiment, but didn't he decide to stay here?

What has Greg Olsen done so far? Nothing?

Al Bundy 09-21-2008 06:33 PM

I dont think I have ever heard him say anything about wanting to be traded, so I don't get the misguided animosity towards him? All animosity should be directed at King Carl and Herm.

Nothing of consequence. I was way up in the cheap seats, so it was hard to keep track of individual players (and I don't follow the Bears all that closely), but basically no one in their passing game did much to impress.

Sure-Oz 09-21-2008 06:38 PM

I don't feel sorry for him, he could've gone elswhere....and hes gettng paid well to play for shit

blueballs 09-21-2008 06:40 PM

he had no offensive penalties today

King_Chief_Fan 09-21-2008 07:20 PM

Boo fricking hoo for Tony G. He is getting paid. He can quit any time he like

Spott 09-21-2008 07:27 PM

Maybe he likes the long offseasons. If we wanted to play football in January, he would have demanded a trade when we drafted him.

DeezNutz 09-21-2008 07:31 PM

I don't feel sorry for any of the players. No way. Not even close.

Now, if he could be moved for a decent draft pick or two, do it.

Dayze 09-21-2008 07:47 PM

just for discussion:

any chance TG gets so fed up with the ineptitude of the coaching staff/playcalling etc, that he just says "F it" and retires?

DT58HOF 09-21-2008 07:50 PM

Trade the whole organization to Japan for an expansion team lets start new with a new owner and Coaching staff, hell trade KC Wolf as well, just let us start over!!

Hell no, I vote we put KC Wolf at qb

twinkiekid 09-26-2008 11:02 AM

Trade to Green Bay along with Huard or late draft pick for Brohm or Flynn. Green Bay is going to have to move one of those guys or just let one go eventually and I haven't heard Lee's name much this season. The West Coast offense works with two TE's too.

I don't know how much time Sharpe had when the Donkey let him go, but they were able to get him back in time for the Super Bowl. Maybe the Chiefs can do that for Gonzo.

Chiefnj2 09-26-2008 11:36 AM

Gonzalez deserves what he gets. He extended his contract after Herm was hired. He should suffer like the rest of us.

Spokane Chief Fan 09-26-2008 01:32 PM

On espn radio the Mike Terico show I believe that do not be surprised if Tony is traded.

Hog's Gone Fishin 09-26-2008 01:37 PM

I've been saying trade him for years. He fumbles way too much!

Sharpe went to BAL after his SB stints with DEN in 97 and 98 IIRC
