Chiefs get worse each year under Herm....

I know we are allegedly "re-building" but when are we going to see some kind of improvement? Our defesne stinks. I mean absolutely stinks. We can;t tackle, we can't cover and we can't get pressure.

Offense aside, this is glaring. The defense was supposed to be the first thing fixed. I know we went 3 and out 6 straight times but there was no excuse for the piss-poor tackling we saw and have been seeing this year.

This team has gone backwards.

And don't even get me started on the special teams.

Going into his 3rd year Herm has done nothing to make this team better. Oh sure, we may have drafted a couple good guys, but that would of happened had we sucked with any coach I believe. How could you pass on Dorsey and Albert? I don't care who the coach is we probably would of snagged guys like them.

Bottom line is it seems we are on a similar path with Herm as we are with Carl, whcih is neverending.

Mecca 09-22-2008 06:42 AM

We've actually gotten worse in each game this year, the margin of loss keeps increasing, think about that.

You mean, nobody expected this?

I didn't expect THIS! I didn't expect us to get shredded on the ground for 100's of yards a game. That is a new Chiefs low. I didn't expect us to just suck totally on defense.

Especially against bottom feeders.

dirk digler 09-22-2008 07:00 AM

No surprise. This happened when he was with the Jets.

Donger 09-22-2008 07:02 AM

Is it not correct that the best team that Herm Edwards has fielded since becoming the head coach of the Chiefs was his first game?

TEX 09-22-2008 07:05 AM

Herm always dogs DV's Chiefs about all the meaningless offensive records etc. Well Herm's Chiefs have a pretty impressive record of thier own in that they have already set the club's all time losing streak, currently at 12, and appear to have Tampa Bay in thier sights...Where does is say that a "rebuilding team" shouldn't even be able to compete? They flat out SUCK and are one of the absolute worst teams in recent NFL history. Herm must be proud. All you Herm disciples are idiots. Herm SUCKS and has no business being a part of any rebuild. Our defense looks evry bit as bad as DV's, only now our offense is even worse than our defense.

I think its pretty obvious already that Herm is in over his head. This thing will probably get worse before it gets better.

It wont be long until the Vets start lashing out to the media about him. Its started already a little bit....

petegz28 09-22-2008 07:50 AM

Dayton Moore has a much bigger challenge than CeePee and Herm and look at what he has done in not even 2 years? Ok the Royals still suck but you can see that they truly are at least heading in the right direction. Given what he has to work with Trey Hillman had a decent rookie manager season imo, all things considered.

It is much easier to turn things around in the NFL and it can be done a lot faster. Yet we are heading for our 3rd consecutive worsening year and there is no light at the end of this tunnel.

That's sick. It ALMOST makes me ashamed to be a fan of this team for the mere appearence that by supporting the team I support the dicktards in the FO and our inept coaching staff.

I will say I liek Gailey and I know Gailey can and has run a better O than this piece of shit. So I will lean that Herm is making him "keep it simple".

Our D looks as bad as DV's defense and with better players. ROFL

bkkcoh 09-22-2008 09:57 AM

When did it become acceptible to fair catch a punt inside the 10 yard line? I thought they were supposed to put thier heels on the 10 yard line and let the ball go if it was over thier heads.

I was ready to throw something at the tv yesterday because of that.

On the radio either Gretz or Lenny said we had the worst ranked kickoff coverage, or return coverage stats.

In either case, whichever it was, that's all about the coaching. And if the guy coaching them is picked by Herm, that's a sign about Herm.

Over-Head 09-22-2008 10:11 AM

At least your head office didn't spend a gazillion dollars this year to have there as handed to them twice.
You guy's still have room left to suck up some tallent.

Nice work AL, 163 MILLION for what?:banghead:

petegz28 09-22-2008 08:43 PM

The team lacks discipline. Herm is a ****ing failure of a coach. We practice soft, we play soft, we play like shit and it shows.

Don't tell me we practice good and look like we do on Sundays. Maybe the reason we played good under DV and Marty is cause we actually practiced???

Spott 09-22-2008 09:10 PM

It's amazing that the offense hasn't improved one bit since that playoff game 2 years ago. We are still running the same bullsh*t offensive plays that we used that took us 4 quarters to get a 1st down with. I know we don't have much talent, but people are paying a ton of money to go to the stadium and be bored to death with this monotonous run up the middle and swing pass crap all game long.

It doesnt get much worse then 12 straight losses.

FAX 09-22-2008 09:57 PM

It can definitely get worse, Mr. kcxiv, and I predict that it will. Much worse.

I think the pain threshold is probably around 16 or 17 losses. At that point, Clark will have to commit to a course of action. We'll be halfway through the season with no end of the madness in sight. Locker room rumblings will be peaking and any sane owner would have to do a gut check by then and decide if he's going to ride it out with this guy or make a change.

In cases like this, I feel a distant bond with the Peerinwindas Tribe out of Clean Glass, Montana...

They are generally known amongst Montanian Locals that those Peerinwindas are quite the all around pushies when it comes to indian pain threshold...

If the norm is 16 or 17 losses... Line me up with those intolerant Peerinwindas and allow me to end my suffering with a cup of Peyote Kool-Aid..

I'm an honorary Peerinwindan, Mr. KcKing. It wasn't easy, though. I had to go through their traditional warrior ritutal which entails banging your melon with a maglite and finding a way to open a can of pork & beans with nothing but a couple of twigs and a greasy rag.

+1

First he destroyed Tuna's team; now he's destroying DV's team. The only reason this d1ckwad ever even won a playoff game was becuse he had a team built by someone else. As has been said many times by many others, Herm should be a scout or DB coach, nothing more.

Let me ask you, Herm took over a Parcells built playoff team in NY and ran them straight into the dirt. In KC he took over a Vermeil built playoff team and ran them into the dirt. All you homers here claim SPERM is this great talent evaluator/developer but yet in two try's he has been unable to prove he is either one. Do you really think he is a good coach? He sucks bottomline regardless of the spins 90 percent of you put on him.

:spock: Do you pay any attention at all to what is posted here?

HemiEd 09-23-2008 02:33 AM

I have been saying this for quite some time. He took over the "Circus Offense" that was rated at the top of the NFL. At the end of his first year, it was in the middle. He got it to the bottom his second year, and now his third, there is no farther it can drop, but IT IS worse.

He is the worst coach in the history of ths franchise.

I only hope, the Raiders fire their coach and the Chiefs pick him up after firing Herm.

It's a fact, Mr. HemiEd. Herm hit this franchise like a solid, sh*t asteroid going the speed of light and splattered us in a thousand different directions.

What's funny is that he had a lot of people convinced that the concept of the "circus offense" was a legitimate criticism. They didn't realize that DV's circus offense was extremely good at TOP among other things.

At this point, the offense could be outplayed by most decent high school teams and the defense is worse than ever. No one talks about special teams much, but we're about as bad as you can get in that department, too. It's, frankly, amazing how much damage that knucklehead has done in such a short time. I'm glad he pursued a career in sports, though. If he was in the military, we'd be surrendering to the Chinese this Friday.

Which had a lot more to do with the DEFENSE than anything else. Opponents arent going to hold the ball a long time when it only takes them 5 plays to move the length of the field.

LOLORORL

Methinks that, as bad as that D was, you overestimate the scoring efficiency of the enemy offenses in those days, Mr. Boris The Average.
