Your New Team

First let me say that there is NO way that i would ever stop cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs.. Yet in reading that some of you are close if not seriously considering changing teams, what team would you choose?

Mine would be the Seahawks...

Futhermore what (if anything) would it take for you to change teams..?

007 09-23-2008 03:05 AM

The only thing that would make me change teams would be the Chiefs moving.

mylittlepony 09-23-2008 03:24 AM

I dont really have an other favourite but I do enjoy the brand of football that the eagles play especially on defence.

ottawa_chiefs_fan 09-23-2008 05:18 AM

Buffalo - they get a lot of media coverage up here in Canada for obvious reasons....and they fit the mold of teams I cheer for - perennial losers - Chiefs, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Raptors, Blue Jays....

ILChief 09-23-2008 06:24 AM

I'll never switch teams. But I will definitely adopt a team or so to follow when we're hopelessly out of it.

Chiefs will always be my favorite. But this year, I'm gonna follow Buffalo and Tennessee.

Chiefnj2 09-23-2008 06:33 AM

Per my signature which I put up in preseason, I'm circling the wagon with the Bills in the AFC and hoping Allen can shove his fist up Peterson and Herm's ass over in the NFC.

crazycoffey 09-23-2008 06:34 AM

any team playing the chiefs?

how about the Raiders? - D'uope!

Steelers. They draft well and don't have the inconsistency the Chiefs have. If they were on TV here every week I would have already switched. I'm sick of the whole mess that is the Chiefs.

MOhillbilly 09-23-2008 07:04 AM

jags titans redskins.

Baby Lee 09-23-2008 07:05 AM

As it presently stands, the Eagles.
If Schotty were to take over the mess in St. Louis, though. . . the mind reels.

People are seriously considering switching teams? I thought they were just saying that in exasperation. Surely the Chiefs don't have bandwagon fans. That would make us all hypocrites for giving shit to San Diego fans.

And, no, I'm not calling you Shirley.

Generally when your team is this bad you find another team to cheer for along with the Chiefs to stay interested in the season.

rambleonthruthefog 09-23-2008 08:02 AM

i'm not switching teams. i will however continue to root for a couple more lovable losers in the saints and the texans. at least the college football teams i like don't suck.

ChiefsOne 09-23-2008 09:03 AM

I'm in it for the long haul, as I have been for the past 20 something years, still watching all of the games. I am a Chiefs fan first and do not have the passion for any other team, I usually root for the underdog in other games, except Dallas, Oakland and Denver.

Same with college football, I like to watch a good game, but am a Mizzou fan, so at least I have something to look forward too.

Jesus. I think the point was to find a team that wins. If you want to keep rooting for shitty teams with shitty GM's, just stick with KC.

BigChiefFan 09-23-2008 09:08 AM

I don't love the Cowboys, but I respect Jerry Jones as a dedicated owner, COMMITTED to doing what it takes to pursue championships. Go Cowboys!

But, don't forget the 4 years of nothing from 1999-2002...
8-8 and then 3 years of 5-11

Plus, they haven't won a playoff game since 1996... granted, I'm not saying he doesn't try, but they've had their down years.

There's a lot to like about the 'boys, but I'm thinking Romo has a few more colassal [CP spelling] brainfarts in his future.

Mr. Arrowhead 09-23-2008 09:20 AM

I would never find a "new team", i bleed chiefs red, through the good and bad times, but i do find myself rooting for the packers.

RealSNR 09-23-2008 09:25 AM

Definitely the Packers

Nzoner 09-23-2008 09:27 AM

I'll be cheering for JT's Touchdowners,Blitz,Black Snake Scrimmagers and TD's-N-Beer,my 4 biggest money fantasy league teams.

I don't see me ever losing 100% interest in KC unless of course they were to move the team,I've been through too much with the team and hopefully will make it through this mess as well.

HemiEd 09-23-2008 09:28 AM

I am dedicated to the Chiefs, but have a very strong feeling for "America's Team," the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If Herm would have watched their game against Indy, he would have seen a team that actually does, what he wants to do. It was a clinic, but we know Herm does not watch football.

Deberg_1990 09-23-2008 09:28 AM

I play fantasy football, so i try and watch most every team.

I really enjoy watching the good teams play like Green Bay, Dallas, Philly etc....

boogblaster 09-23-2008 09:29 AM

True Red Here ... Damn we suck tho .. Still rooting for my college teams ....

Steron 09-23-2008 09:41 AM

I wouldn't stop rooting for the Chiefs. I've followed them this far why not got the rest of the way?

Other teams I pull for are the Colts (ever since the Baltimore days, I remember when they left) and most recently the Jaguars.

Buehler445 09-23-2008 09:56 AM

I don't think I'll ever switch teams. But I do follow a lot of story lines in the NFL. For instance,

I want every team ESPN sucks off weekly to fail miserably.
I want Aaron Rodgers to succeed after all the Favre bullshit. That and I really like watching the GB receivers work.
I like watching the Steelers, Jags, and Titans be what the Chiefs want to be.
I like watching the Bears implode perrenially.
I like any time the Donkos and Faid get abused.
I like to watch any well prepared team work. Unless I hate said team. Then I root against them actively.

You can start rooting for the Chargers.

How couldn't you after looking at this face?

ChiefsCountry 09-23-2008 10:40 AM

Packers and Titans.

ChiefaRoo 09-23-2008 10:41 AM

This whole thread blows. I'm a Chiefs fan even if I only have memories of DT and Neil smashing Steve Young to remember.

KCrockaholic 09-23-2008 10:47 AM

how could any real Chiefs fan actually consider changing teams? how frickin stupid, yeah were lucky Mizzou and KU are good right now to keep us interested in football, but no way in hell should anyone change teams just because we have to deal with a tough season or 2 or 3...so then what? when were 12-4 again your gonna jump back on the bandwagon? ..i always thought KC had the most loyal fans, but after seeing threads like these it just makes me sick

DaFace 09-23-2008 10:57 AM

I'd probably say Vikings or Packers if I'm choosing a team with the possibility of success. However, there are a number of teams I root for now and then. This calls for a spinoff!

King_Chief_Fan 09-23-2008 11:02 AM

Will be a Chiefs fan for life or until the team is moved, which ever comes first.

If there were no Chiefs, I probably would be a packer fan.

Yup!

And I always root for whoever is playing against Denver, Oakland, San Diego and Indianapolis.

And I think we should offer Brodie Croyle to Green Bay for Aaron Rogers. Get 'em drunk first and maybe they'd go for it.

I think competitive is more appropriate.

Mizzou is GOOD, KU is COMPETITIVE.

JuicesFlowing 09-23-2008 03:01 PM

Repost. I posted a thread a few days ago asking about second favourite team, which is the same thing.

DaneMcCloud 09-23-2008 03:33 PM

No one other team.

EVAR!!!!!!

Bearcat 09-23-2008 04:22 PM

I'd become a bandwagon fan. Not one of those out-of-the-woodwork "OMG MY team is OMG, I've been here since day one... well, opening day!" kind of bandwagoners. I'd find a team or three to follow each year for whatever stupid reasons I could come up with.

I'd never invest the amount of time and money into another team... compared to just a few years ago, I've already distanced myself from the Chiefs a little by not "having" to watch every second of every game, by not going to as many games (1 last year, none this year), etc.

I'd basically do what I'm now forced to do during the playoffs... find a reason to pull for one of the teams... just full time.

The Seahawks have been my team ever since they left the AFC West. But I rooted against them as ferociously as the Donkos or the Faiders while they were still in it. I live in Seattle though. Seahawks, Mariners, Huskies, Soni.......nm. **** the NBA.

That said though, I don't have the passion for any team anywhere, anytime that I have for the Chiefs. Not even remotely close.

For me it too would be the Bills because of the coverage.

Nice to see other canucks and Toronto Raptors Fan on this site.

Buck 09-23-2008 06:09 PM

If the Chargers disbanded, then mine would be the Redskins.
