KC Star: NE signs Price off of our practice squad

New England plucks WR Price from Chiefs

<!-- END tabs --><!-- begin content -->The Patriots reportedly signed Maurice Price this week after the Chiefs waived him earlier this month and sent him to their practice squad.
The Chiefs have not announced the move, but multiple Boston-area media outlets, such as the Boston Globe, reported the acquisition. Price also was removed from the Chiefs' online roster.

Players on a team's practice squad can sign with another team, and thereby be placed on that team's active roster, at any time. The Chiefs waived Price on Sept. 10, when they signed quarterback Ingle Martin and promoted receiver Marques Hagans from the practice squad.

Price didn't play in the Chiefs' game at New England, the only one for which he was on the active roster. The 6-foot-1, second-year receiver played in the Chiefs' first three preseason games and had six catches for 94 yards and a touchdown.

He missed the 2007 regular season with a shoulder injury.

Thats what I thought too. If NE wants him then there is a good chance no, make that a great chance we blew this evaluation.

BigRedChief 09-24-2008 07:05 AM

Sorry guys I didn't see the other thread. Mods, can we fold them together?

teedubya 09-24-2008 07:05 AM

hahah... this is a the other guy who caught a touchdown in preseason. We already cut Sippio who had the other 2! LMAO.

IF YOU CATCH A TOUCHDOWN FOR THE CHIEFS... YOU WILL GET CUT!!!

Hootie 09-24-2008 07:17 AM

they showed us! We ruin their season, they take our future!!! DAMNIT CARL!

I don't know about that, look how good they did with Chad Jackson who I actually thought was really good.

StcChief 09-24-2008 07:40 AM

they need help, his chance to shine. if Cassell can get him the ball.

burt 09-24-2008 07:44 AM

I just keep thinking "Wow.....Price really dodged a bullet."

Yeah the Pats have such a horrible record of evaluating players.ROFL

Mr. Laz 09-24-2008 09:11 AM

if new england wants him then we prolly blew it

that said .... good for Price, now he can get his chance to play for a real team.

KCJohnny 09-24-2008 09:20 AM

Another stupid move by the FO. Oh yes, Ingle Martin and Marques hagans are much better than a WR who everything thrown to his zipcode in PS.

This is deeply disappointing. Its good for Maurice, tho. Look for his stat line by the end of the year and see what might have been.

Brock 09-24-2008 09:22 AM

New England also wanted Mike Maszlowski, Monty Beisel, and Eric Warfield.

hawkchief 09-24-2008 09:30 AM

It's tough to hold onto talent when you're so fuggin loaded at WR like the Chiefs. NOT!

Just another pathetic example of our front office getting punked again.

Brock 09-24-2008 09:32 AM

There are plenty of legitimate things to bitch about with this team. This isn't one of them.

Has the exact feel to it, doesn't it? I was sick to my guts when we lost Horn. Even I could tell how good he was when he got a chance to get on the field (alas mostly just in preseason games.) The exact same feeling with Price. :banghead:

But don't worry. We have Devard Darling!

Claythan has more of a live
than some of you losers

RealSNR 09-24-2008 11:34 AM

Quit blubbering, people.

There's a reason why Maurice Price isn't the next Joe Horn, and that's that Price hasn't played one single NFL snap.

New England will cut his ass at the end of the season like they do with all of their 3rd and 4th option WRs.

Not quite....

Joe Horn actually played in "real live games" for 4 years with KC.

Price has never done that.

If Masz. wasn't injury prone I would've liked to have seen what his career would've looked like ???

NE can't find a WR to save it's life.

whoman69 09-24-2008 05:34 PM

Price is probably the happiest man on the planet today.

Who cares?

As long as we have Jeff "The Invisible Man" Webb and Devard "Uno Catcho" Darling we're set.

Not exactly a good track record of former Chiefs.
