LOL @ David Blane

lol I just caught his newest gimmick on tv on accident and it happened to be the lamest stunt/illusion/trick ever. The crowd had booo's. It was downright terrible.

What, he was not in danger of dying, really? lol

KcMizzou 09-24-2008 09:39 PM

I saw the very end. It was the coolest thing since Geraldo opened Al Capone's vault.

The general reaction of the crowd seemed to be, "Uh... That's it?"

David Blaine sucks at stunts; rules at getting himself publicity. My friend Jill went to check out his uber dangerous 60 hour upside-down stunt today and saw him getting a right-side up break. She asked a lady who had been there for a while and she said he gets a break every 25 minutes. Uber lame.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-24-2008 09:50 PM

Is it bad that I want him to die during one of these?

ROFL no.

Blaine can make himself look real good when it gets televised.

You think they air any of his card tricks when he messes up? Seriously doubt it.

David Copperfield's statue of liberty trick looked great with all the camera's involved. But they just show what they want you to see of course.

Somebody actually stood watching for more than 25 minutes? That lady needs medication.

I root for the same thing when it comes to David Blaine, the illusionist's version of John Edwards. :fire:

At least Copperfield has passion in his performance. One of the few Mainstream illusionists I like.

No. You mean Copperfield didn't really move the statue of liberty with his mind while we were looking at pretty girls.

My dad's funny.

He will watch these guys, believe the trick, and think they have some sort of pact with the devil.

lol

Fairplay 09-24-2008 10:20 PM

Well, the alternative is death. That wouldn't be much of a trick though. We can all do that.

Yep it's true. He takes 10 minute breaks every hour. Kinda sucks just like this act he did. At least Kimbo Slice punched him twice in the gut.

He was great when he was just doing his street magic. He's gone stupid.

Why should you be different here? You want everyone to die, it's a sickness you have.

Any details on what exactly the trick/gimmick was?

I can make some yummy bbq burnt ends disappear in no time flat. Just bring them to me and I'll show you.

Agent V 09-25-2008 07:11 AM

I'll be impressed when he eats his own head (if anyone gets the reference).

TinyEvel 09-25-2008 09:03 AM

WEAK.

Herm is the real magician. He's turned our offense upside-down for two years straight, and shows no sign of letting up.

And that's televised on national TV every Sunday.

The Franchise 09-25-2008 09:16 AM

His "Dive of Death" lasted 10 feet before a wire caught him and then took him into the air. Lame.....lol

Basically he was supposed to take a "Dive of Death".
At the end, he falls to the ground with a cable attached to him, stops right above the ground then the cable starts lifting him back up. When he gets to a certain height, the camera goes apeshit and then he disapears, lol.

The crowd was like.......

Huh, thats it? WTF? BOOOOOOOO

I thought he did ground-breaking stunts, this is lame.

Yea, i saw it. It was very lame. I can only assume he had something more spectacular planned and something went wrong???

Hes ok. Hes great at those card/slight of hand tricks on the street. Its all made for TV of course, but still entertaining.

David Copperfield was better when i was a kid.

Statue of Liberty disappearing
walking through the Great wall of China.
Making a plane disappear
etc...

Brock 09-25-2008 10:19 AM

I don't understand people's fascination with card-guessers.

okcchief 09-25-2008 10:22 AM

I couldn't believe ABC wasted a prime time spot on this crap. It was seriously the worst attempt at an a stunt I have ever seen. ANYONE could have done that.

Chiefnj2 09-25-2008 10:34 AM

I think he was supposed to stop and then float away mysteriously. ON youtube there are home videos where you can see huge balloons illuminated by some flash photography above him. The winds must not have cooperated and he was left dangling there.

KCrockaholic 09-25-2008 10:37 AM

haha this was the biggest waste of time...they kept saying, "blaine catches a bullet coming up next" about an hour and a half before they showed it. that pissed me off, blaine truely sucked yesterday

morphius 09-25-2008 10:56 AM

some of the youtube videos of the dive of death are funny, here one girl talking to her Mom asking if they showed the balloon that he was attached to.
