This is why we need a new quarterbacks coach...

You'd think a professional coach would spot something like this and correct it.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers picked up on film that the Chiefs had a tendency to snap the ball just after Kansas City quarterback Damon Huard bobs his head.

so you are officially done being a team fluffer and are going to flop back to being against herm

Reerun_KC 10-07-2008 09:08 AM

Gannon was talking about footwork and other things during the game sunday... Made a comment that coaching is lacking for these guys....

Dave Lane 10-07-2008 09:09 AM

Thats the film Herm was looking for! That explains it all it was the head bob. Or was that Gretz's head bob in Herm and Carls lap...

I've noticed that several college teams, when in shotgun formation, snap the ball as soon as the center's head goes down.

boogblaster 10-07-2008 09:16 AM

Every starting QB in the league should take the "Dick Curl Crooked-Penie Exercise" ..

Yeah but most teams have the center duck his head 3 or 4 times and vary it snap to snap so teams can't tee off on it. We actually do, too. So we're not completely dumb. But dumb enough...

Fooling your opponents is Arena Football. You succeed in the NFL by smacking your opponent in the mouth more than he smacks you.

Reerun_KC 10-07-2008 09:23 AM

When was the last time this offense took advantage of mis-matches of the defense?

Were you to join Germ Warfare, you could be in charge of the Curlstillnacht.

ahhh Gretz. Always the loyal soldier. This guy refuses to ever question the Chiefs leadership from the top down:

"On Monday, I heard a lot of commentary from radio yakkers and e-mailers about the lack of effort they sensed from the Chiefs on Sunday in Charlotte.

That’s crap. There was plenty of effort. That’s what makes the whole thing so frustrating to the players and coaches. Their horrible performance didn’t come because they weren’t playing hard on Sunday"

CoMoChief 10-07-2008 09:41 AM

You guys.....he coached for NFLE.....that obviously makes him qualified to make him QB coach for Croyle.....DUH!!!!

Demonpenz 10-07-2008 09:41 AM

Our main player larry johnson refuses to churn his legs after first contact anymore. He is getting tackled rather easily by players smaller than him. Watch him run and Barber from Dallas and tell me that his effort isn't there.

TrebMaxx 10-07-2008 09:43 AM

Dick Curl needs to be reassigned duties, maybe he can make sure the coaches up in the box always have fresh nachos on hand. From the way our QB's look - all of them - and the lack of fundamentals, footwork, throwing off the back foot, staring down receivers, etc. IMHO is a lack of coaching.

LJ got paid... that ended the effort....

In other news, the Chief's need to replace every coach.

He is the ASST HC of the Chiefs and all plays called down from the both, go through Curl for approval and Curl can change the call....

I have heard from a lady at church, how knows my uncle in Blue Springs that talked to someone who knows someone that works for the Chiefs said this is true... So it is not of contestation.

TrebMaxx 10-07-2008 09:49 AM

He is also listed as the QB coach. He blows, we need a real QB Coach especially for the young guys.

I don't know if the players union would allow this, but it would be nice to stick hot pocker up LJ's ass before every game to get him pissed.

He can still play obviously but....

If he feels the overall cause is in vain or a lost cause, he wont go out of his way to give any extra effort. Alot of Superstar players are like that.

Sure-Oz 10-07-2008 09:50 AM

We need a new HC and a new staff, maybe retain a few people, thats it. Also a new GM, total overhaul!

My guess you would volunteer to stick you hot poker up his ass....

When losing starts becoming an identity of a team it has an effect on everyone.

I truly think the players don't believe in the playcalling/ game plans/ etc. It clearly showed in the OAK/ATL and CAR games. They acted like they don't care to play......that falls directly on the coaching staff.

There needs to be some MAJOR changes this offseason, it starts at top. When Carl is gone....the next GM (if it's not Thum) will fire Herm as soon as he steps foot into the door.

Fish 10-07-2008 09:55 AM

Of all the head scratching bullshit the Chiefs have done in the last few years. This ****ing stupid bewildered-looking shaved caveman's position on this team has me the most puzzled. It makes no sense at all. When he makes that snide face-scrunching smirk I seriously want to take a chainsaw to a litter of puppies.

I ****ing hate Dick Curl. He is damaging our offense.

character guys like waters and gonzalez are still playing hard. Bowe seems to be too.

however, you also have guys like McIntosh who look like they could only be this bad if they aren't trying.

not to mention Larry Johnson who's gone from being a bulldozer to a guy you can arm tackle

I think alot of people quit after the biggest miracle since Jesus himself walked the planet... Chiefs playoffs in 06.... That was a joke beyond all jokes, but yet the Herm praisers hold it dearly..

The gameplan and lack of adjustment really hurt this team long term. We didnt see it then, but it is very evident now.
