MU will, or at least should, wipe the floor with OSU. I don't know why so many people think this will be a trap game for MU.

MU wins easily. Book it.

Its a trap game if MU can't stop their running game. They may try and change the pace of the game to fit their style. They lead the league in TOP because they run the ball so well.

If MU stops the run, this game will be decided no less than 20 pts IMO. If not it could become close.

Remember that embarrassing thread you made last week about how Mizzou wanted to be Nebraska? Ha - ha - ha.

LOL at you trying to talk intelligently about college football.

My argument was that MU wants to be known as a marquee (sp?) football program, which they aren't exactly there yet.......there not yet a TX, OU, FLA, MIA, LSU, and even NEB. The only thing embarassing about that thread were your bullshit posts.

you really gonna bring this up again?

Not the past few yrs no, but traditionally those are Nationally prominent fball programs.

MU has proven that TOP means very little to them. Score on a 6 minute drive and Missouri will match that score right away. And Missouri has proven they are not just a passing team. With Washington and Jackson in the backfield we can grind it out in the run game if we want to.

But I still think we can stop the run since so far that is the strength of this defense.

SAUTO 10-11-2008 03:26 PM

watching cbs and the halftime guys just said "sorry poor MU not enough "style points" to be NO.1" WTF?? if MU beat OSU handily then how do they at least not warrant consideration? alabama isnt even PLAYING this week and could jump MU in the coaches poll???

If there's anything Mizzou does (or should) have, it's "style points". Have they seen this offense?

That said... I'd be fine with #2. Just gotta keep winning.

that's why i was like WTF??? but hey if Mu wins next week there's no denying them that spot

okcchief 10-11-2008 03:38 PM

I don't see OSU staying in this game unless Mizzou helps them out via turnovers. OSU will put up points but they can't stop Mizzou. Mizzou will have to stop themselves. Hopefully, Mizzou won't look ahead to next week and we will get another marquee match up.

Tonights game should be a lot of fun.

I can't wait!

Maybe our defense isn't so bad afterall after seeing Nebraska put up 31 points @ Texas Tech with OT still likely ahead. 10 points given up by our first string defense is looking pretty damn good right about now.

I don't think Mizzou's D is bad at all. They just pale in comparison to the O.

Oh I don't either, I just think seeing Nebraska keep up with Texas Tech will make our defense look better in the eyes of those around the nation.

Considering guys like William Moore, Sean Weatherspoon, and Ziggy Hood all look to have a future in the NFL and we have quite a few other talented college defenders I think we have too much talent to not have a solid defense. With how fast we score and with us often playing soft zone coverage we are going to give up some yards but we seem to do fine keeping teams out of the endzone for the most part.

ClevelandBronco 10-11-2008 04:21 PM

I hope I can see this game in Denver.

oh i still think they would win, it would just show whether or not they will be able to hang with the Texas', USC's, or other team who could potentially hang on offense. it's usually true that a great offense WILL have THAT game. you know the one where EVERYTHING on offense goes wrong. ,maybe Mu is the exception to the rule(there have been), but ANY chiefs fan should be able to understand the reason i'm cautiously optimistic about the pass d(look at the DV era)

That score was good considering they were pretty blah for the most part. Either way this is far from over and I expect every team to drop atleast one.

That's why I don't want to spend a ton of time worrying about when the other shoe will drop.

I'd much rather enjoy the ride and deal with that if/when it happens.

For the teams ahead of SC to lose? I need the SEC ones to preferably lose 2.

SAUTO 10-11-2008 05:38 PM

aaahhhhh hell i thought you would have a thought out plan....

SAUTO 10-11-2008 05:38 PM

do you think the SEC is THAT much better than the Big 12?

Mecca 10-11-2008 05:39 PM

I don't need to do that at this time..aslong as SC wins out they have good odds of finishing 1 or 2.

In the minds of voters yes and that can influence enough of a spot differential in the polls to matter.

how so? their schedule doesnt look too good(difficulty), and if you are counting on others to lose... well that doesnt seem like too sure a bet.

agreed but the Big 12 may have something to say about that. they will beat up each other, but the SEC has done that for years

As the teams ahead of them lose they'll move...SC will be ahead of Oklahoma now...the 2 polls are heavily factored into the BCS rankings.

It's tough to go undefeated. Hardly ever see two undefeated teams. And if you've gotta have one loss... lose early.

i get that, whats worse an early loss to an unranked(probably never ranked) or a late loss to a high ranked team??? didnt hurt NEB too much one year IIRC mightve been before the bcs though, i think it was the first year???

Depends on the dynamics, but if there are several 1 loss teams at the end of the year, and you are undefeated, you don't want to lose.
