Olbermann is a worthless ****ing douche?

KChiefs1 10-12-2008 06:07 PM

Costas is a McCain guy

jidar 10-12-2008 06:09 PM

Olberman holds Costas sheet up in the air where he cant reach it and makes him jump for it.

blueballs 10-12-2008 06:21 PM

that was funny

chiefs1111 10-12-2008 06:23 PM

Yes. Olberman is a difficult assbag. That's what I've heard from more than one source.

Deberg_1990 10-12-2008 06:31 PM

Costas supports McCain??

triple 10-12-2008 06:35 PM

I think it's because Costas is one of the eminent sportscasters/journalists of the past few decades, and Olbermann is a slobbering goon

T-post Tom 10-12-2008 06:44 PM

I met Olberman two years ago. I found him to be an upstanding human being. Polite, quick witted and funny.

Frazod 10-12-2008 06:50 PM

Perhaps it's because Olberman has about as much business on that show as Dennis Miller did in the MNF booth.

Maybe he's jealous because KO is one of the few sets of initials that is cooler than BC.

Good catch. I actually like Dennis Miller.

Deberg_1990 10-12-2008 07:28 PM

SO what the heck happened to Olberman?

He used to be so cool back on Sportcenter back in the day.

ClevelandBronco 10-12-2008 07:28 PM

Let's see. Costas is intelligent and Olberman isn't.

I have no other idea.

This.

Dennis Miller was the worst addition to MNF ever. Absolute garbage.

This thread really should be in DC.

bango 10-12-2008 07:33 PM

Olberman should have stuck to sports then at least we may not have ever found out what an idiot he can be.

I'm sure his political leanings have nothing to do with your opinion.

TrickyNicky 10-12-2008 07:35 PM

Costas loves 5 dollar footlongs.

Bob Costas is a very, very good sports guy - Olbermann is a self centered ass hat; at least he didn't go as far as ultra ass hat Dan Patrick and use Consort for his hair, though. They are still trying to recapture their early years and it's just not even a little entertaining. I am so pissed at NBC for bringing both of those guys to the show; seriously I don't watch ESPN for many reasons, Dan Patrick was one of them.

chagrin 10-12-2008 08:01 PM

Let's dust off the resume of Keith "Uberclown" Olbermann.
Years ago he left ESPN when ESPN was a hot item, the move surprised many in the biz, but Keith felt, "doing sports" was beneath his talent and ego. So what happens? He goes out and gets the finger from the big 3 and his dreams of going "National" go down in flames along with his career, nice move. Today on channel 348, he has his little show to vent that the "man" and the "system" are holding him back, lack of talent not withstanding. Good times...
As far as Costas goes, I have it on good authority that Keith spends +$100,000.00 on baseball cards and memorabilia, and he probably out-bid Bob on a Mickey Mantle rookie card on E-Bay or something equally as important.

Olberman started out as a sportscaster on ESPN (with Dan Patrick). Dennis Miller had no experience as a sportscaster before MNF. No comparison.

Hammock Parties 10-13-2008 01:04 AM

Bob Costas is a total dick. Napoleon complex.

I find it odd that people liked Olbermann when he was on Sportcenter, but hate his guts now that they know his political views. Seems pretty shallow to me.

Sfeihc 10-13-2008 03:50 AM

Olbermann and Patrick actually started working together at CNN.

HMc 10-13-2008 04:47 AM

Olberrman seems pretty switched on to me, but then I don't have a Repub/Dem agenda to push.

What do you base this on exactly?

I don't know what his political agenda is, I just think he' proven himself not to be funny and is just a bore now, much like Chris Berman, except Keith has a worse attitude

Stewie 10-13-2008 06:46 AM

The worst thing that happened to ESPN was when Craig Kilborn got a better gig and his own late night TV show. Everyone else at ESPN thought they could do the same, so they all became hack comedians. At least Kilborn has talent and is truly funny... unlike the other douchebags who are legends in their own minds. As for Costas, I used to like the guy but he seems to have become a caricature of himself.

blaise 10-13-2008 07:52 AM

I don't like Olberman. He bashes FOX because he says they're biased and right-leaning (which is fine if that's what he thinks), but he fails to see the hypocrisy of his own obvious left-leaning agenda. If you want to slam FOX news, fine- go ahead, but don't pretend you're any different.

Brock 10-13-2008 07:56 AM

I think they're both fine sports news readers. As far as why they don't like each other, it probably has something to do with an argument about some old baseball player from 50 years ago that nobody else cares about.

Dave Lane 10-13-2008 08:38 AM

Because Costas absolutely blows.... KO rocks...

Was he a smarmy, egomanial prick back then too, or did he mature into that role?

I'm glad Costas is above that BS.

You and Nick really are a match made in heaven.

Now, an opinion based on slightly more than nothing... one of my best friends in college grew up a few blocks from Costas in St Louis. He only met him a few times, but said he was nice as hell.

AustinChief 10-13-2008 09:46 AM

I will go on record... If you honestly don't like Bob Costas, I am amazed that you have the functional intelligence to get online, much less read this post.

I can understand the people who like the hack that is Keith Olberman... but NOT liking Costas seems pretty outrageous.

Really? You think the only reason people dislike Olbermann is his politics?

The guy is an annoying prick and I'm willing to bet that is why a majority of his haters hate him.

I have met Bob, he lived next to my old company Owner.... very nice guy. Seems fair on reporting (maybe why he's got this far). Throws a nice charity event at the Fox Theatre every year.

He based it on WPI being told to go **** themselves when WPI wanted to interview Costas

Merril Hoge, huh? When you have to name drop Merril Hoge you know you're really stretching for something.
