I doubt that he has the capacity to be honest.

The post above proves that you lie. You are denying that you have lied. How many things have you said about me that are totally false or pure speculation?
How does your Christian faith consider lying by omission? Lying by denial? You are in too deep for anyone to help you out. I guess your brand of religion allows you to be that way. Good for you to believe in that manner.

You know you are lying most every day. Why should I justify something you well know?

Same thing here. I got a degree in Business Mgmt and it was basically a waste of time in my career field. I'm sure that's the exception to the rule, but in my case I didn't have to have it.

Are people at CMU as anti-social as they appear? I was accepted and took a tour of campus, but it seemed as though the majority of students were quite awkward.

However, I thought Pittsburgh was a much cooler town than it's typically given credit for. They seem to be past the typical rust belt image.

ZepSinger 10-20-2008 02:55 PM

I'll be graduating in March with a Bachelor's in CS. The workload of family, career, and college have had me up studying every weeknight until 2am for the last 2 and a half years. In fact, this is my first post in close to a year... how y'all doing???

I love Pittsburg, one of the best towns in the country if you ask. There is tons to do, the people are overall friendly and it has a good job market from top to bottom.

The only negatives I can say about it are:

1. When you're in Pittsburg, you're a couple hours drive away from everything. The beach, another big city, you name it it's a good hike.

2. Be prepared to have the Pittsburg Steelers and Penguins hammered down your throat with a mallet. Serioulsly, you can't get anything else on TV no matter where you go and fans of other teams are far and in between. You're probably laughing at this as I did when I first heard it but trust me, it does get annoying unless of course your a fan.

Assuming you're from MO you shouldn't miss a beat. Pitt and KC are opposite sides of the same coin. If you like to fish and hunt you'll be challenged to find nicer area this side of the Mississippi only an hour away.

Went to Pitt for 2 1/2 years, one of the best times of my life.

LOL in short yes...There are more than the fair share of freaks. We used to say CMU was 1/3 geek, 1/3 greek and 1/3 gay(for all the artsy fartsy types, it was known for it's drama school).

I wasn't originally planning to but ended up going greek to find some semblance of a social life. Good education, but the social scene was weak. Don't get me wrong Pittsburgh isn't a bad town, just after 9 years the place got old to me. It has a real big age gap, alot of college age and alot of senior citizens but less in between. Housing was dirt cheap though so you can't complain about that.

I'll finish up my B.A. in English at Northwest Missouri State University this spring, and then move on to pursue a M.F.A. in Creative Writing at, well, depends on where I get accepted at.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 10-20-2008 05:17 PM

Went to Central Missouri State (now UCM) and graduated in 1982 with my degree in History and minor in Criminal Justice. Got halfway through grad school before deciding to take a break.

23 years later, I went back to college (Howard Community College) and got my AA in English, graduating with honors and am applying for the MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Baltimore.

features 3 of them in their 2006 national rankings: KSU at 113, KU at 138, WSU at 233, Pitt and St. Mary's don't make the cut.

Bachelor's in Computer Science and an MBA.

For a while I thought the CS degree was pretty useless, because I couldn't find a job that didn't require 2-5 years of experience, and NWMSU's career services was a waste of time (not that 2002-2003 was a great time to look for IT internships and jobs). I'm glad I have it now, but the program was still a disappointment, IMHO.

I'm not sure if the MBA has really made a difference in my career, but I really enjoyed the classes and would do it again in a heartbeat. I could have gotten my current job without a second degree, but I'm not sure I could have gotten it with just my undergrad GPA on my resume (which doesn't have to do with the aforementioned CS department disappointment... stupid Biology). The canned undergrad stuff didn't do it for me... it's so much better when you're learning economic theory from someone who's been working with it for 20+ years at Sprint or learning marketing from a local VP of the AMA. Oh, and that's Avila University... www.avila.edu :D

Uh, I'm not sure a ranking that lists Texas A&M, Penn State, and San Diego over Harvard, Stanford, and Princeton helps your argument much.
